LEGO Ninjago 2018
Digger of Bricks replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Well, it's a broad enough discussion topic to still be of relevance for as long as Ninjago lives; plus, it was last commented on only back in August of last year.- 2,384 replies

Indeed, but I'm afraid it might not work due to this topic being older than @CopMike's.

By the way, here are two Voltron themed creations I saw featured over on The Brothers Brick, the first being a BrickHeadz rendition of the titular character, the second being a microscaled verison. It looks to also be built in predominantly Light Bluish Grey, with some metallic touches on at least the bumper. -

LEGO Ninjago 2018
Digger of Bricks replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
By the way, not to mini-mod, but there is a topic for discussion of the theme's future beyond any particular year that was started by @Master_Data back in 2015.- 2,384 replies

Creator Expert Cars - Rumors, Discussion, and Speculation
Digger of Bricks replied to SheldonF's topic in Special LEGO Themes
It seems a little boxy in its overall shape, but from what I can see, it's fairly clean and studless on the exterior, which I think makes up for any of its rigid shaping issues. -
The Future of Lego Space. (opinions, ideas, discussion)
Digger of Bricks replied to Trekkie99's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Well, could the combiner robot trope be utilized by Lego anyway? That's what I was inquiring about over on @Peppermint_M's discussion topic recently, as I was wondering whether it could do so without seeming like it was being ripped off from other certain franchises.- 991 replies

What was the last movie you watched?
Digger of Bricks replied to EbonHawk's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Finally got around to watching the MCU's Black Panther about two nights ago. Since I haven't watched many of the MCU films so far, I really liked how this one (for the most part) stood alone due to its lack of cross-referencing to other entries in the franchise. The design of Wakanda and its culture was pretty cool too I thought, with the skyline of its capital city being something I'd love to see someone capture in Lego. -

What was the last movie you watched?
Digger of Bricks replied to EbonHawk's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Finally got to watch Pacific Rim: Uprising last night, and as somewhat expected, it was rather underwhelming. With this sequel, many specific elements of the first film that I loved were absent, particularly the original's heavier industrial tone and style and Ramin Djawadi's amazing score. Granted, if the sequel did retain at least those elements, I may have liked it a little more, as its storyline, new characters, and time setting seemed to have worked somewhat as a follow-up. Honestly though, come to think of it, I think I'd rather want to have seen a prequel to the first movie as a follow-up instead. As much as I enjoyed the opening race and final battle sequences, I do confess, that one instead had to have been my favorite scene for the entire movie. That's true, and it did make the movie therefore feel more grounded in reality somewhat. -
Future Action and Adventure Themes
Digger of Bricks replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
With the recent announcement of the finalized LEGO Ideas product for the long awaited Voltron, I've been wondering about the combiner robot trope in relation to it being applied to an in-house action theme. Particularly, does anyone think that it's too exclusive of a trope to certain franchises to be utilized by Lego for an original theme of their own? In other words, can they utilize it without feeling like it's being ripped off? Besides Voltron, the only other two toy franchises I can think of that also use it are Power Rangers, and in certain cases, Transformers. Well, I only used Chima as an example due to its storyline structure revolving around rival tribes, as I don't believe that had ever been done before for any other in-house theme. The only difference between Chima and my proposal is that Chima had multiple tribes on either side, while my idea is instead proposing multiple fictional nations fighting against a single common enemy. Perhaps you might not have a particularly elaborated idea in mind immediately, but, what would you want to see from an action/adventure theme that falls within that style/genre? -

What are Your Favorite MOC Genres?
Digger of Bricks replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Also, I do have a thing for "classical" Classic Space, particularly if the MOCs evoke or pay homage to some of the original Classic Space sets from then, such as the Galaxy Explorer. Here's another Flickr gallery showcasing some of my favorite homages to the LL928: Flickr - Lego's Galaxy Explorer...REIMAGINED! Ah, okay, thanks for that! Though I haven't tried it for awhile now, I used to utilize that process for other image resizes in the past before, but I'd never taken note of the thumbnail option before. -

What are Your Favorite MOC Genres?
Digger of Bricks replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in General LEGO Discussion
For me, probably some of my all-time favorite MOCs are within the Dieselpunk, Decopunk, Raypunk, and Sky-Fi genres, which are all focused upon retrofuturism from the first half of the twentieth century or retrofuturism that takes after the stylistic aspirations of the first half of the twentieth century. Here are a few Flickr galleries featuring some of my favorite MOCs from these genres, each with a small, three picture sampling posted below each link: Flickr - Digger of Bricks Dieselpunk/Decopunk Favorites Flickr - Digger of Bricks Sky-Fi Favorites Flickr - The Work of Vincent Gachod Flickr - Digger of Bricks Retro Space Favorites -

Shaping wise, I don't think that at all looks like a Bugatti, but it's still pretty damn cool looking nonetheless!
