  1. Besides a few exceptions to the rule, typically the beans start spilling for most Lego themes shortly after San Diego Comic-Con has wrapped up.
  2. By the way, it is interesting that the prototype model shown below for voting selection was done up as the BTTF time machine, and not simply as a normal DMC-12. I mean, did they really intend to give us our first BTTF licensed set all the way back then in 2008?
  3. Creator Expert sets never have alternative builds to begin with, as this presumably wouldn't be a typical Three-In-One set, if it is indeed Creator branded.
  4. Well, I will say though, I believe this may be only the second time we've seen that hairpiece in Bright Red without printing, with the first time being seen only for that 2012 SDCC exclusive Phoenix figure. So, if anyone's ever wanted that hairpiece in that color without printing... Yes, I guess I do have to agree with you in that respect... I was originally figuring that we'd see that set before seeing anything from 2019, so hence my own surprise...
  5. SPACE. We need to see an honest-to-goodness Space Miners theme, and not merely in-name-only like Rock Raiders, one that includes oxygen-less environments and therefore helmeted miners and canopied utility vehicles/spacecraft. If not that, then I'd probably wish to see a real Steampunk mining theme, one that could be lightly inspired after Jules Verne's Journey to the Center of the Earth.
  6. Like a Two-in-One Expert set of sorts? Ya know, that could be kinda cool!
  7. I'll just say, if anything, possible sets for Toy Story 4 may be more than likely slotted under the Juniors theme, much like the ones seen for both Cars 3 and The Incredibles 2. Whether or not such sets may utilize the specialized heads introduced for the original theme would have yet to be seen.
  8. I almost wonder if that helmet was intended to be utilized for Wasp this year specifically, but designers maybe hadn't finalized the mold in time and therefore they opted to use the Iron Man helmet instead. Besides that, what other possibilities could there have been? I sort of doubt that it was designed in mind for Firefly.
  9. Also, while he has the new torso print introduced this year paired with the dual-molded legs, his expression looks to be from the older head.
  10. To me, her simplicity seems to evoke her original debut minifigure from 2006.
  11. Here's the figure for those wondering:
  12. Well that was quite out of the blue! I'm still taking in all the details, but upon first impressions, it's a typical looking DC set by any standards I think (that mech's not bad looking), but it's nice to see them give Flash some dual-molded legs for that matter! Poison Ivy is surprisingly plain looking, and Firefly has a new helmet? Um, was that supposed to have been designed in mind for him, or someone/something else? Voltron pilots perhaps?
  13. From what I can see, nope, there doesn't seem to be anything like that, just an invitation for speculative discussion for the upcoming year. It doesn't seem like the OP of that post knows anything, so I don't think it's any sort of confirmation that the theme will be marching on.
  14. Really! Well, if we're only now getting ourselves a DB5, but with Bond touches, perhaps we'll see that classic Mustang and DeLorean sometime down the road here. Also, seeing how they're seemingly taking after the DB5 (presumably) from the James Bond franchise, perhaps potential sets for a Mustang and a DMC-12 will be taking after the Bullitt fastback and The Back to the Future time machine, respectively. By the way, is there any online source for that information you mentioned besides the book I referred to? Edit: Regarding that last question, never mind, as I did find one link with pictures even! A Modular Life - Blast from the past... and a MOC
  15. Saw this has just been featured over on The Brothers Brick blog: The Brothers Brick - A cottage lies deep in the forest
  16. I'm glad to hear that this looks to be more like a DB5 instead, as I would've been somewhat disappointed if the Creator theme were to break tradition by introducing a more modern model instead. By the way, does anyone have a copy of this book from 2008? I remember picking it up at my local library years ago, and there was an excerpt I recall stating that 10187 Volkswagen Beetle was a top fan choice among a selection Lego offered to vote for as to which automobile they'd like to see done for TLG's fiftieth anniversary. The four models I remember that were voted upon were of the Beetle, a classic Ford Mustang, the Aston Martin DB5, and one other car I don't recall.
  17. Well, until we hear of anything, I think this discussion may be better suited for the below linked one:
  18. I did love the theme in its concept, but certain aspects of many of the sets just didn't quite appeal to me, such as (of course) its lack of colored canopies on the heroes' part, plus I though their spacecraft weren't quite as "swooshable" as playsets from other comparable themes (Mars Mission and Space Police III particularly). Speaking of such, what would many of you here have changed to the theme to make it more appealing towards your own tastes?
  19. For Lego, I'm pretty sure the biggest advantage to BrickHeadz over CMFs are the parts, or should I say, the lack of need to introduce new parts. I certainly can appreciate that, and it does offer a little more of a building experience to the collector-minded customer, something I'm sure Lego would want to foster more of in their audiences.
  20. I partly wonder if we may see any classic Jurassic Park BrickHeadz sets. Maybe an oversized Tyranosaurus with either Dr. Alan Grant or Ian Malcolm as a dual pack? Given that Woody and Bo Peep will be the focal point of next year's Toy Story 4, what if we'll end up getting a dual pack with those two while Buzz Lightyear will end up being a single set?
