  1. Sorry for the bump, but if anyone still wants to see more, here you go: This ship in the foreground is the Tramp steamer "Morrow II" which is in scale (or as close as possible) with my passenger liner "RMS Acadia" in the background. Here is the statistics for each ship: Ship Name: Morrow II Engine Type: steam-fed turbine to double screws Vehicle Configuration: tramp steamer Vehicle type: ocean going freighter Designer: (unknown) Build Date: 1917 Builder: Throwing Star Freight Lines Current Owner: Captain Karloff Ship Name: RMS Acadia Engine Type: steam-fed turbine to triple screws Vehicle Configuration: luxury passenger vessel Vehicle type: ocean liner Designer: Steele & Sons Shipbuilders Build Date: 1921 Builder: Steele & Sons Shipbuilders Current Owner: Red Star Lines LDD file: http://www.mocpages.com/user_images/80135/1434723184m.lxf Oh, and just so you know, this is the Morrow II in mini-figure scale: You can draw you your on conclusions on how big the Acadia would be if it were mini-fig scale!!
  2. Here are some more ADVENTURERS models I have created over the last month or so... 1924 Adventurers Roadster - Jake Raines This model was mostly inspired by set 7326, (Rise of the Sphinx) and my own imagination. This car is supposed to be owned by Adventurer Jake Raines, and features a spare tire, and two seat body. It may be a 1920's car, but I get a late 1930's feel from this model. LDD file: http://www.mocpages....1432816917m.lxf Adventurers - 1921 Classic Automobile - Senor Palomar This car is a extremely modified Duesenberg SSJ model made by Tom.Netherton. (see it here: https://www.flickr.c...in/photostream/ ) I removed a lot of features of this model to make it more unique. The vehicle is almost all white and light bluish gray, and features an enclosed cockpit that seats only one person. LDD file: http://www.mocpages....1432917835m.lxf Adventurers Boat Dock with vehicles This main part of this model was inspired by set 60068, Crooks Hideout (City - Swamp Police) along with the crane from set 7596, Trash Compacter (Toy Story 3), the seaplane modeled after set 7628 Peril in Peru, (Indiana Jones - Crystal Skull), along with inspiration from 2000 set 5935, Island Hopper (Adventurers - Dino Island) thrown in for good measure. Also, the Tramp Steamer is related to set 5975, T-Rex Transport (Adventurers - Dino Island) Here is the dock by itself. The looks tall because it has to clear the smokestack of the tramp steamer. Speaking of the crane: it needs this length of rope to connect to the claw part: http://www.bricklink...m.asp?P=x77ac50 Here is the inside of the shack. The upper floor of the building features the radio to communicate with the seaplane and the tramp steamer via this part: http://www.bricklink...asp?P=3004pb009 The lower floor features a map to plan the way to the next adventure, plus a bunch of cargo to go on the next ship to the mainland. This the inside of the crane, with two levers and a printed tile for controlling the lights. The tile is also supposed to turn on / off the power supply to the crane. I built the Morrow II (That's the ship's name) from two Adventurers sets: I used the boat from set 5975 (T-Rex Transport) and modified slightly to resemble set 5976 (River Expedition). The ship features a boiler, steering wheel, nautical telegraph and a bigger smoke-stack. I have also added a complete bridge with removable roof instead of the open topped one on my previous version of the ship. The bridge is also removable to access the boiler room. This is an seaplane based off 2008 Indiana Jones set 7628 (Peril In Peru), along with inspiration from 2000 Adventurers set 5935 (Island Hopper) thrown in for good measure. 3. Please note, I'm a railroad nut and this list kinda shows. - The Train (WW 2 era film made in 1964 staring Burt Lancaster) Spectacular train (and train wreck) sequences - they even blew up a whole yard to make this film! - The Polar Express (lovable book, exciting and wonderful movie - I relate to the one know-it-all-boy on the train) - Emperor of the North Pole (also titled without the "pole" when it came out on DVD) - set around 1930's Great Depression, Lee Marvin, Keith Carradine & Ernest Borgnine respectively star as older Hobo "A Number 1", young hobo "Cigarette", and "Shack" the murderous train conductor - no hobo rides his train and lives. - Yellow Submarine (The Beatles animated movie) If you love their later (1965 to 1968) music: watch this interesting film.
  4. There also seems to be The Village People on the right behind Batman!
  5. I agree with you 100%. I just named / wrote it as such because I was struggling to come up with a backstory for it. Plus, Karloff's head was already in LDD and I hadn't used it up to that point... Thanks for commenting though!
  6. Thank you, and I didn't notice that my signature was out of date. Thanks for the heads-up! EDIT: Done with the updated picture featuring the 2-6-0 "Mogul"'s smaller tender for my revamped signature. I also color matched the 2-8-2 to it's real life counterpart while I was at it. I also added the 4-4-0 American and 2-10-4 Texas to the signature. Hope you like it!
  7. A few more trains - 2-6-0 "Mogul" steam locomotive with smaller tender LDD file: http://www.mocpages....1433889432m.lxf Topic: http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=109694 2-8-2 "Mikado" Steam Engine with Gray Streak passenger train LDD file: http://www.mocpages....1433630369m.lxf Topic: http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=109694 Motorized blue & yellow diesel locomotives - Power Functions MOCs LDD file: http://www.mocpages....1432672946m.lxf Topic: http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=109922
  8. Thanks for commenting! I do agree it looks a little long, but in real life it fits much better than shown here. To me, it just looked too tall as it was, so I shortened it to better fit with my locomotive. That's the good thing about Lego, though, if you don't like it: change it to suit your tastes!
  9. This should go under the Action and Adventurers theme section, as it is a Ninjago / Adventurers crossover. Tramp freighter steam ship "Morrow II" LDD file: http://www.mocpages....1434238746m.lxf Topic: http://www.eurobrick...22#entry2242194
  10. Fictional background: Built in 1917 for Throwing Star Freight Lines as an ocean going tramp steam ship, the Morrow II was constructed in a far off land not shown on any Earth globe or map. The ship is commanded by Captain Karloff and has been used by Lord Sam Sinister at various times in many schemes involving stolen artifacts and lost treasures. Secretly however, Captain Karloff is working with Johnny Thunder to compile a file on Sam's activities to give to the proper authorities at some point in the future. However, Karloff must be careful – those who dare cross Lord Sam Sinister are few – and those who survive betraying him are even less in numbers! Real background: I built this ship from two Adventurers sets: I used the boat from set 5975 (T-Rex Transport) and modified slightly to resemble set 5976 (River Expedition). The ship features a boiler, steering wheel and a bigger smoke-stack. I have also added a complete bridge with removable roof instead of the open topped one on my previous version of the ship. Also, this ship is meant to have a Ninjago connection in as such that Karloff from set 70756 (Dojo Showdown) became a sea captain and commands this ship in journeys from Ninjago across the Endless Ocean, through the Sea of Time and into Johnny Thunder's world of the early 1900's and back. The name of the company he runs under is called "Throwing Star" after the ninja weapon and the many White / Red / Yellow Star ocean-going companies of the 1900's, such as White Star Lines, of RMS Titanic fame. Here you can see inside the bridge, featuring a large steering wheel. The rear of the ship is not very detailed. As a side note: The ship can hold Sam Sinister's car in the front section. Alternatively, it could hold random freight / crates. After competing in the Tournament of Elements, Karloff, Master of Metal, left Ninjago and became a ship captain for the Throwing Star Freight Lines. He makes runs of Master Chen's noodles to the world of Johnny Thunder, where the fast food-style noodle house is a massive hit. To travel across time and space to early 20th century Earth from Ninjago, Captain Karloff travels from his base at New Ninjago City to Chen's Island, where he picks up noodles, sauce, fortune cookies, and other foodstuffs. He then travels past Astor City to AnitMatter's former hideout, where a large portal transports his ship (the Morrow II) across The Ocean of Space & the Sea of Time to a stretch of ocean in between Bermuda and the coast of Florida. He then sails to various ports of call on both sides of the Atlantic ocean before heading back to the Bermuda Triangle and on to his home base at the New Ninjago City docks. NOTE: Captain Karloff should be wearing this suit and pants with the hat shown above: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?M=wc010 This ship is next on the to-buy list, just before Johnny Thunder's office and way ahead of Sinister Manor. LDD file for Karloff and his ship: http://www.mocpages.com/user_images/80135/1434238746m.lxf
  11. Sorry for the late reply. Your layout sounds awesome: Have you posted it on Eurobricks yet? Also, I have a couple updates to tell you all about: Before last Tuesday (9th of June), the tender was kinda large for my 2-6-0, but I didn't notice it until I got an an engine that it really fit with it in the larger form: my 2-8-2 "Mikado". So, I went to work on redesigning the dark green tender to be smaller and came up with the design you see here. it's not perfect by any means, but it's good enough for me. The tender on the left is the original-style tender used on my 2-8-2, while the one on the right is my 2-6-0's new smaller tender. LDD file for the dark green engine + new tender: http://www.mocpages....1433889432m.lxf Speaking of my 2-8-2: parts are on their way through the postal system to complete this train: This passenger train is a four-studs-per-car shorter version of the one I uploaded earlier in blue. It features the 2-8-2 Mikado steam engine pulling the train, one combination baggage / passenger car, three coaches, and one observation car. These passenger cars are on order as I write this, as I already have the locomotive. The train by itself is inspired by the Wabash Frisco & Pacific passenger cars, except these are dark gray and not blue. The name of this train is the "Gray Streak" which is a play off the Silver Streak of movie fame (the 1934 film: not the 1976 one) but instead of being a diesel-electric stream liner, this one is steam-powered conventional passenger train. LDD file for the 2-8-2 and Gray Streak: http://www.mocpages....1433630369m.lxf The first post is updated as well.
  12. I'm back with some more CREATOR - style builds! Grocery Store with apartment This build was inspired by sets 41108, (Heartlake Food Market) 10684 (Supermarket Suitcase), with other sets thrown in as needed. This sign ( http://www.bricklink...asp?P=6179pb086 ) goes above the front door. This poster ( http://www.bricklink...sp?P=87079pb197 )goes next to the picture window. The store-owner uses this torso. ( http://www.bricklink...?P=973pb1935c01 ) The inside (lower floor) isn't my best work, but it gets the idea across that this is a grocery store. The store features tow shelves, a freezer, gumball machine and, in the restroom, a toilet and sink. The upper floor is the super market owner's apartment and is very basic with couch, table with two chairs, bed and TV (with test pattern made from a Star Wars control pad). The rear of the building is nothing fancy, just a blank wall downstairs and windows upstairs. LDD file for the Grocery Store: http://www.mocpages....1432840783m.lxf Sinister Mansion - Revisited This classic 90's LEGO-styled model was originally built in 2007 by a Brickshelf user named "Widdi". That user uploaded the instructions (seen here: http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=249223 ) which I stumbled upon and built / modified in Lego Digital Designer. I added another story for the tower, put furniture inside and worked a garage into the structure. More recently, I have redone the tower and removed some of the windows. The inside features the furniture from my Haunted House (10228) MOD, including (but not limited to): a Queen size bed, stove, table, phonograph, sidetable with lamp plus the couch. The first floor I has the living / dining rooms, as the couch, stove and table and other associated items are there. The second floor features the master bedroom with a small balcony on the right side. The third floor is the attic, which is empty. The tower / roof (fourth floor) is also empty. The building swings open on a hinge and locks shut on a Technic pin. This is Sam sinister's personal ride: It is included in the LDD file. LDD file for the mansion and car: http://www.mocpages....1431479292m.lxf Benny's Classic Town-style Apartment This is Benny the 1980-something Space Guy's apartment. It features a garage with dual opening doors on the lower floor for his Lego Classic Space - styled Car. Benny himself (minus his suit's printing, of course!) is there as well. The style of the set is based off half of set 6390, a Classic Town set from 1980. (This set was re-released in 2003 under the short-lived Lego LEGENDS line as set 10041.) Also, unlike most of my buildings, Benny's apartment does not open like a dollhouse, but features removable levels to accesses the inside, much like a modular building. The number "60" should go on the stud next to the door, as provided by this piece: http://www.bricklink...sp?P=3070bpb003 The lower floor features Benny's Classic Space-themed car's parking space The upper floor features a layout with miniature buildings, a bed, side-table with lamp, computer, a micro-model of Benny's SPACESHIP! LEGO set and a 1980's telephone. The arch on Benny's LEGO layout features this printed piece courtesy of Astro Kitty: http://www.bricklink....asp?P=4490pb02 I was inspired to build this model after seeing the dark red half-track / truck in set 60071, Hovercraft Arrest. The model features a row of space-ship styled seats opening doors, and "double" tail lights. (I used a trans-red grille to create a nice effect.) the white tiles is supposed to be Benny's license plate. The rear of the car features the (printed!) classic space logo from Benny Spaceship: http://www.bricklink...sp?P=30363pb021 Here is the LDD file for the car and building: http://www.mocpages....1433945715m.lxf Johnny Thunder's Office - revisited original version Since the last time I uploaded Johnny Thunder's office, I did a Bricklink inventory of the parts list and found that the first model is way cheaper than the following versions I made. It may be not as fancy, but it get the job done and looks okay too. Also, I credit Eurobricks / Flickr user "Kristal" for the roof top decorations technique. (Here is a link to her blog: http://modularsbykristel.com/ ) The inside features a new look: a stove borrowed from the Haunted House (set 10228) and a staircase with railings instead of a ladder. The cabinets have been moved upstairs, and the desk has been redesigned as well. The rear of the building is hinged to the front (like in set 31026, Bike Shop & Cafe) and locks together with a Technic pin. This model's LDD file also comes with Johnny's car, seen here in real life. LDD file: http://www.mocpages....1430498488m.lxf The first post has been updated, and thoughts on this latest batch are always appreciated!
  13. I've imported a bunch of my town / space models and I must say, it's awesome! I can't wait to see the direction this game goes in!
  14. Thank you! The space car / jeeps should be next on the to-buy list after I get my train project sorted out.
  15. (Sorry for the triple post: but here is the rest of the CS models I made today.) This model was heavily inspired by set 75916: Dilophosaurus Ambush from the Jurassic World sets. I have turned it into a Classic Space vehicle by subtracting most of the features and adding the CS logo to this piece on the hood: http://www.bricklink...sp?P=30363pb021 and a space seat for the driver. The model also has less random colors on the inside to reduce the price. The rear of the model features the removable roll-cage. I plan on getting two of these jeeps for the space base. LDD file for the jeep: http://www.mocpages....1433623837m.lxf
  16. This space base was inspired by set 75919: Indominus Rex Breakout. I saw the first images of the set immediately thought of Classic Space, due to large amounts of blue and light / dark grays. Anyway, the base is modular, and consists of 10 straight wall sections, 4 corner sections, 1 main gate (for land vehicles) and 1 control tower. The model can comfortably fit Benny's spaceship and cane also fit two of my Galaxy class deep space fighters. I plan on including some Jurassic World jeep's to the base for patrolling outside the base, along with Benny's Classic Space 1984 Comet automobile that I have built. NOTE: The LDD file does not include the spaceship or land vehicles. Here is the main gate. It can open up to allow ground vehicles though. Two of these go next to the gate where the un-printed slopes are: http://www.bricklink...sp?P=30363pb021 This is one of ten walls sections, held together with the other modules by four Technic pins.(two on each side) This is one of four of the corner modules. This is the control tower, which is supposed to contain computers for controlling landing space ships. Unfortunately, I forgot to add the computers in there. Oh well! Here is the base without the space ships. NOTE: The LDD file does not include the spaceship or land vehicles.
  17. The set was produced during the color swap's time-frame (2003-2004) and after (2004-2006-ish). So yes, it was both color types (old & new) at the same time, and / or one old and one new. Sometimes some part types were old, with some being new. LEGO only stores them according to part number / color in their warehouse, and even then they don't distinguish between some differences. (such as Mini-figure heads being, solid, hollow or having a hole) So basically, old dark gray and new bluish gray parts of the same type could have been picked for the same set, and shipped together. (such as old gray 9V track, and new(er) 9V track) Hope this helps!
  18. I have replaced the tan shed with this bigger red one that I already have built. and I also added this 4-4-0 steam locomotive to the roster: The first post has been updated, and comments are always welcome!
  19. I have motorized my 7939-inspired MOC and added a new engine inspired by early Box-cab diesels. This is my first couple of motorized MOCs ever, and I'm not sure I did it quite right. I won't be building them, but if anyone wants to take a crack at them be my guest. Here is the front view. The yellow engine is also build able in red or black, while the blue engine is also build able in white. The cab on the yellow engine opens up, but the blue loco is inaccessible at this time. It may be possible to fix this, but it would require a roof redesign and I don't feel like redoing the engine (again) right now... Here we see the innards of the engines: The triple A Battery box and IR receiver. There are two 2x2 holes in the frame of the engine for a PF cord to the motor. No lights are included, but it may be possible to make them fit inside if you really wanted to. The roof sections that are hidden in this picture are removable, and are held on by four studs each. LDD file: http://www.mocpages.com/user_images/80135/1432672946m.lxf As I said above, these are my first motorized models, so please tell me if I did something wrong. Also, Comments, Questions, & Complains are always welcome!
  20. That's actually an excellent idea to install shelves. But it will have to wait until I get my own place. Right now, the rest of them are sitting in paper boxes in my closet...except for the select few that don't fit in boxes... (I'm looking at you streetcars!)
  21. It's not a permanent layout (i'll be moving sometime in the future) but for now it stays. I am looking into this brick-built tunnel to use in the future: Thank you! That switch tower is on the to-do list, and should be built around the time of the Victorian station. I don't know when exactly, but it will happen. Also, Diagon alley is one of my favorite sets to own, and sits very nicely with Medieval Market Village.
  22. Thanks, here is my town as of now; My layout as of today, the 21st of May 2015. In this picture you can see my dark green train with 2-6-0 steamer (second track to the back) my freight train with a BR Class 09 in lead (furthest track to the rear) The other vehicles are Bob's 1978 auto, a 1950's double-deck bus, a LEGO Movie police car and a VW bus. (you can't see the bus from here, nor can you see my Ford Anglia, but trust me: they are there!) The Adventurers seaplane is on the extreme left, next to my 7997 style train station. My town is on the right, with the saloon, Dr Who TARDIS and bank on the extreme right, while the Military surplus shop, tavern and Iron LUG are on the mid-right. The black and red models in the center are my current black and red train shed, a water tower, and the tallest object on my layout: the coaling tower. Sadly, the 2-8-2 is not here yet, with only one more Bricklink order that was supposed to arrive today. (It did not show up.) We did receive someone else's package by mistake instead!
  23. Thank you. I will consider the changes you suggested, but I'm pretty sure the rear window is the same size as it's real-world counterpart. LDD hasn't failed me (yet) in that department.
  24. Thanks! And no, not yet... my camera on my phone could probably do it, though maybe in a couple days I could, once my 2-8-2 is finished/ Oh, and BTW: I updated the picture of the train shed to keep it up-to-date.
  25. This picture is how it looks on my layout right now. All of the following items sit on two 6 x 3 foot folding tables placed in a upside down "L" format. I hope it's okay I included town buildings in this post! Layout Width: 6 feet Layout Height: 9 feet STRUCTURES & TRACK X51 Rail RC Straight X35 Rail RC Curved X2 Train track switch left X2 Train track switch right X1 Victorian Station (Barretts) X1 Victorian Signal tower X1 double track train shed (XL) X1 Water Tower X1 Coaling tower LOCOS & ROLLING STOCK X1 Mikado (2-8-2) steam locomotive X1 Mogul (2-6-0) steam locomotive X1 American (4-4-0) steam locomotive X2 Generic Boxcar X1 Bobber Caboose X1 Flat car with automobile load x1 Gondola with rock load X1 drop side gondola X1 combination baggage / coach (dark green) X2 Passenger car (dark green) X1 Observation (dark green) X1 combination baggage / coach (dark gray) X3 Passenger car (dark gray) X1 Observation (dark gray) X3 Passenger car (reddish brown) TOWN BUILDINGS X1 Saloon X1 Military Surplus store x1 Tudor-style House X1 Bank X1 Tavern X1 LEGO Train Cub building X1 Sinister Mansion X1 Johnny Thunder's office (XL) World City Train Shed I made the shed longer than the original set number 10027 by 4 tracks, and widened both stalls by 1 stud on each side. (This makes it so 8 wide trains can fit) I added a middle section, and threw out the old hinge-open plan. (left side, middle, and right side)The shed is capable of holding the modified 2-10-4 Texas type steam engine, side-by-side with my ALCO FA & FB diesel units. The shed used to be modular in 3 sections (two end segments and one middle), but it was very weak in the center. I then decided to redo the model into one large section, but the problem then became that the storage became nearly impossibly difficult... I have a a big wooden case for it, but it makes if hard to go up / down stairs. Victorian signal tower This Victorian-era tower features a signal bridge, a spiral staircase to connect the two floors and a signal / switch computer from more modern times. It was inspired by my Victorian Railroad depot, and will eventually be built for my layout after the station get finished. Victorian railroad depot (Barretts Station) The station features four removable sections: the tower roof and second floor, plus the left and right platform extensions. The building also has an interior with ticket desk, three seats and a fireplace on the lower floor. The upper room features a desk with chair. Sinister Mansion This classic 90's LEGO-styled model was originally built in 2007 by a Brickshelf user named "Widdi". That user uploaded the instructions which I stumbled upon and built / modified in Lego Digital Designer. I added another story for the tower, put furniture inside and worked a garage into the structure. More recently, I have redone the tower and removed some of the windows. Ironwood Lego User's group (IronLUG) This model houses Iron LUG, the local LEGO Users Group for Ironwood - area residents. It is situated in an old pharmacy that has been renovated into a display area. Stone Bank I took set the Bank from the 2011 Harry Potter LEGO set Diagon Alley (number 10217) and gave it a make over into a more City-like set. First I straightened the columns out, and added a more protected Bank teller area. The vault was shortened width-wise by 1 stud, making it 3 studs thick, (plus the door, of course) to allow it to sit closed next to the teller area. English tavern This English style tavern was built from set 10193, Medieval Market Village, and expanded by my brother to have an inside staircase and a better chimney. Bob's Adventure Supplies This building was originally part of set 10217, Diagon Alley, specifically Ollivander's wand Shop. I added a rear to the building and redid the interior to have more of a Military Surplus store look. The store is currently owned by Bob from LEGO Universe, and was finished in late 2014. Backwash Saloon This model was inspired by set 79109, Colby City Showdown from the 2013 Lone Ranger theme. I turned the 1 story bank into a 2 story saloon, complete with two lift-away sections to access the inside. Tudor house This building was originally the Blacksmith's shop from set 10193, Medieval Market Village released back in 2009. I got it in 2011, near the end of it's production run. It has been turned into my mini-figures house, complete with furnished interior. Johnny Thunder's office Since the last time I uploaded Johnny Thunder's office, I did a Bricklink inventory of the parts list and found that the first model is way cheaper than the following versions I made. It may be not as fancy, but it get the job done and looks okay too. Mikado steam engine The locomotive is a 2-8-2 (two leading, six driving, and two trailing wheels) steam locomotive. Engine number 5916 usually pulls the Meramec River Runner. Combination baggage and passenger car for the Meramec River Runner. Three identical passenger coaches The observation coach lacks the letters BRS (standing for Brick Railway Systems) but it is owned by that line. Mogul steam locomotive The locomotive is a 2-6-0 (two leading, six driving, and zero trailing wheels) steam locomotive. Engine number 4613 usually pulls the Emerald Express. Combination baggage and passenger car for the Emerald Express. Two passenger coaches The observation car of the Emerald Express. The letters BRS stand for Brick Railway Systems, the owner of the train. American steam locomotive This engine is a 4-4-0 (four leading, four driving, zero trailing) steam locomotive. It is numbered 12 and pulls a excursion passenger train. This is the train that is pulled by loco number 12. As a side note, the chains on the car ends have a glitch and refused to bend. They are supposed to sit on the 1x1 clip plates, and not the handrail itself. This post will be updated as time goes on with more real world pictures of trains and buildings. Any thoughts? EDIT: here is my layout as of today, the 21st of May 2015. EDITED 5/27/15: Added the 4-4-0 and a new engine shed. I still need to take pictures of the 2-8-2.
