  1. Yellow express passenger train with 7939 locomotive LDD file: http://www.mocpages....1431959052m.lxf Topic: http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=109594 Diesel locomotive (7939) - possible color variations LDD file: http://www.mocpages....1431958750m.lxf Topic: http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=109594
  2. I was messing around in LDD and looking at pictures of set 60098 (Heavy Haul train, not yet released for 2015. See it here: https://www.flickr.c...s-55973205@N08/ ) when I realized I probably could do a lot better using set 7939, the look-alike Cargo Train from 2010. I turned the electric locomotive into a diesel, and stretched the frame to allow for a beefier engine area. I didn't think about motorizing it with Power Functions until now, but I did make it build-able in two more varieties in case you wanted to color match 60098 with the red one, or maybe build you own engine with the black one. The cab still opens, and the driver can sit down and control the train from either end of the locomotive. This train was designed last year, but was unbuild-able until this year with the release of the back windscreen in trans-clear with a Marvel Superheroes set. The train consists of one baggage car, three passenger cars, and a observation lounge car. The rear car was based on the Milwaukee Road and it's beaver-tail observation cars. Here is the LDD file for the yellow 7939-style engine and the accompanying train cars: http://www.mocpages....1431959052m.lxf Here is the two other colors of the engine I was talking about earlier. The red one is supposed to represent 60098 (Heavy Haul Cargo train), while the yellow one is inspired by 7939 (Cargo Train). The black one is the only other color available for this type of engine. By The Way: the letters BRS should go on the three exposed studs on the sides of the locomotive, while the numbers for the engines should go on the sides of the fuel tank. 7939 for the yellow one, 7045 for the black one (because that's the only set that cockpit part comes in!) and 7944 for the red one, as it matches the other engines in sequence and was used in the 2007 set of that number. (Fire Hovercraft) ... or you could use your own numbering scheme. LDD file for the three different colored engines: http://www.mocpages.com/user_images/80135/1431958750m.lxf Thoughts, comments, and complaints welcome!
  3. Wooden Freight Caboose LDD file: http://www.mocpages.com/user_images/80135/1431652638m.lxf Topic: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=108321#entry2217178
  4. Here is my new caboose for my freight train. This model was first built in dark bluish gray by Julian B (also known as Fireglo450 on Flickr) in July 2013. I used it for my UK trains, and now I've redesigned it for my American trains because the traditional set 10014-styled model won't fit in my storage box. I wanted to do a bay window caboose, but I couldn't make that fit either. The only other option was a simple branch caboose, like what I did with the 2013 Lone Ranger train chase prison car. Of course, after looking it over, I decided that making that it needed to look a little more American. I added a cupola to the top of the caboose, and it found out it is actually 2 plates shorter than my yellow 10014 MOD. This transformed it from a branch caboose to a bobber caboose, and made it look a ton better. The caboose is on the to-buy list after I receive the parts for my 2-8-2 "Mikado" steam locomotive from BrickLink, but before the Victorian-style Barretts Station upgrade. It features two opening doors and spaces for the letters BRS to be placed on the left and right sides. (BRS stands for Brick Railway Systems) The caboose features no interior, and either end is usable for the actual end of the train, but just remember to move the red tail-light. LDD file for my this bobber caboose: http://www.mocpages....1431652638m.lxf Oh, yeah, my 2-8-2 is coming in the next few weeks.
  5. I did that for my shed, and found that what I did was weak. I plan on replacing them with brick-built doors that seem to work much better in LDD than the plate versions. here is a pic: Then there is the old way... On my model, these plate doors would bump into the wall slopes near the bottom, and come off the hinge. The brick doors are just a little thinner and do not bump into those slopes. Hope this helps!
  6. Blue is a difficult color to work with on trains and and as such, you really pulled this off nicely! The gold accents look awesome, and so does the tender. BTW: I feel you pain on the dust issue: I have four pet birds where I live, plus about a half dozen people and the dust levels are astronomical! Every day I clean my layout and it still looks like I neglect to clean it for a month or two.
  7. Jake Raines' Roadster LDD file: http://www.mocpages.com/user_images/80135/1430314673m.lxf Topic: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=92994&st=25 Johnny Thunder's Office (revisited version 1) with Adventurers car LDD file (building + car): http://www.mocpages.com/user_images/80135/1430498488m.lxf Topic: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=92994&st=25
  8. These look awesome! Do you have anything else you haven't uploaded, Adventurers-wise?
  9. 1924 Adventurers Roadster Inspired by the Indiana Jones set 7628 (Peril in Peru), this car is owned by the Adventurers, specifically Jake Raines from Pharaohs Quest theme. It features a spare tire, two seats, and an enlarged engine. Here is the rear of the car. LDD file: http://www.mocpages.com/user_images/80135/1430314673m.lxf Johnny Thunder's Office (revisited version 1) Since the last time I uploaded Johnny Thunder's office, I did a Bricklink inventory of the parts list and found that the first model is way cheaper than the following versions I made. It may be not as fancy, but it get the job done and looks okay too. Also, I credit Eurobricks / Flickr user "Kristal" for the roof top decorations technique. (Here is a link to her blog: http://www.mocpages.com/user_images/80135/1430498488m.lxf ) The rear of the building is hinged to the front (like in set 31026, Bike Shop & Cafe) and locks together with a Technic pin. The inside features a new look: a stove borrowed from the Haunted House (set 10228) and a staircase with railings instead of a ladder. The cabinets have been moved upstairs, and the desk has been redesigned as well. This car is included in the LDD file. 10. Brick Railway Systems - small steam powered trains LDD file: http://www.mocpages.com/user_images/80135/1431373088m.lxf Topic: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=108321#entry2194780
  11. The first post has been updated with a ton of changes. (such as the addition of the reddish brown steam engine and it's matching train, or the removal of the switching engines) As such, here is an updated group shot: LDD file for the whole train yard is here: http://www.mocpages....1431373088m.lxf
  12. This model has been updated. I have completely redone the entire model, especially the two roof sections. I also recolored a bunch of the light bluish gray parts to reddish brown and added a printed part to serve as the clock. (Two of this part: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=3960pb024 ) The LDD file and pictures have been updated accordingly.

  14. No, I'm not related to anyone named Rupert in any way... Thanks for the comment, by the way!

More Train MOCs pulling into track 10! 0-4-0 Steam switcher MOC Topic: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=109145 LDD file: http://www.mocpages.com/user_images/80135/1430843115m.lxf BR Class 09 Diesel switcher (MOD of ChromeKnight MOC) Topic: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=109145 LDD file: http://www.mocpages.com/user_images/80135/1430843320m.lxf Two-Axle passenger coaches Topic: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=109145 LDD file: http://www.mocpages.com/user_images/80135/1430843654m.lxf
  16. I have been continually modifying the steamer for 11 years, the diesel for 4 years, and the coaches for almost a decade. The steamer and coaches were produced by my father, while the diesel is a MOD of another person's BR class 08. The steamer is getting new number-plates, working pistons, and drivers soon instead of the original model's 9V-era wheels. The diesel is getting cosmetically updated with a new number, and the coaches are (basically) staying the same. 0-4-0 steam switcher MOC This push-along copy of the engine in set 7722 was my gateway into Lego trains. I later added a My Own Train (set 3741) style tender, a new boiler, and so on. I am now adding working pistons (thanks to Hunter Dobbs!) and numbers to the sides of the engine and tender. The engine has gears as stand-ins for medium Big Ben Bricks wheels. BRS goes on the tender, while 5972 goes on the engine. The number of the engine is a tribute to "Olton Hall" (No. 5972) or "Hogwarts Castle" from the Harry Potter films. I really liked that engine when I was little. Fictional background for the steamer: Built in 1929 by Baldwin Locomotive Works for Brick Railway Systems (BRS), engine #5972 was supposed to be part of a 55-strong engine order, but the Great Depression started, causing BRS to cancel the last eight engines, leaving 5972 the last of it's class. The type has been painted in standard black with a red stripe. LDD file for the steamer: http://www.mocpages....1430843115m.lxf BR Class 09 Diesel switcher MOD I borrowed this British diesel design from Eurobricks user ChromeKnight in 2011, and made it in real life for Christmas of that year. This model was my introduction to Studs Not On Top (also known as SNOT) and has been very helpful to me over the years. The rear features three tail-lights. The number of this engine (8311) is the reverse of it's original number, 1138, to better fit with my numbering scheme for my trains. Fictional background for this diesel: In 1960, Brick Railway Systems (also known as BRS) was trying to find a good multipurpose (yet small) diesel switcher. It noticed the success of the British Railways ' Class 08 and so BRS asked the English railway if they would be willing to part with some about 10 Class 08's. The British took their time, but responded with one better: Class 09's, which have a higher speed of about 28 Miles per hour. Desperate for relief for their strained steam switchers, BRS said yes, and in April 1963, ten Class 09's made the journey across the Atlantic Ocean to BRS, whereupon they were numbered 8310 to 8320 and painted black with a single red stripe. LDD file for the diesel: http://www.mocpages....1430843320m.lxf Two-Axle passenger coaches These cars were inspired by two 4.5V sets: set 7722 "Steam Cargo Train, Battery"'s mail car & set 7715, "Push-Along Passenger Steam Train" and it's two passenger cars. My dad built these for me in the early 2000's. I added a passageway through the front of the mail / baggage car to allow the conductor to do his duties and made the bright colors of the original train more subdued with good ol' Brick Railway Systems black with a red stripe. The rear of the baggage car has room for the letters BRS, standing for Brick Railway Systems. LDD file for the coaches: http://www.mocpages....1430843654m.lxf Well, until I get real pictures taken of these, that's it for these. Any thoughts? EDIT: added the fictional backgrounds for the diesel and the steam engine.
  17. I had that book when i was little! I read it so many times the covers fell off, and then the book eventually split into five sections. Same thing happened to my Great Book of Trains paperback... Great models by the way!
  18. I own 63 trains IRL, but that's nothing compared to how many I model but don't build. Some of the digital builds I've been refining while waiting for the right time to purchase them, but most are just too large or expensive, such as the one in this topic.
  19. WF&P passenger train - with SP Daylight 4460 Topic: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=107642 LDD file: http://www.mocpages.com/user_images/80135/1430688062m.lxf
  20. Here is SP 4460 in a new file pulling a excursion train. These coaches are based on a real world prototypes used by a 12-inch gauge steam railway called the Wabash Frisco & Pacific, also known as the WF&P. (see here http://www.wfprr.com/WFPRR/ ) The baggage car and observation car were my own idea though. Eventually I would like to purchase these models plus the Forgotten Daylight 4460 and show them to the real WF&P through the local Lego User Group, (Gateway LUG) and it's show at the WF&P in October. The rear of the train features a observation platform and a single red light. MY NOTES: I last touched these train cars in this form in July 2014. I think the basic look is what draws me in, as all my other cars like these look too "busy". The scarce details of this model are a salute to my very early models (2008-ish) which lacked many details, but still looked prototypical in a way. LDD file: http://www.mocpages....1430688062m.lxf Iv'e calculated version 3 of the 4460 out in parts, and int's going to be $150 USD. That's $80 less than Version 2 (the bigger model)! It would be 130, if i wait on the printed name / number tiles.
  21. Yes, but it was in a topic that was dedicated to random train builds. I though a dedicated topic was in order.
  22. AT&SF Bluebonnet - EMD (Cab & Booster) F7 diesel units Topic: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=109108 LDD file: http://www.mocpages.com/user_images/80135/1430676420m.lxf
  23. Climb aboard for the 13th anniversary of the LEGO Santa Fe Super Chief! (set 10020) This model combines an updated version of the EMD F7 engine with a new cab-less "B" unit AND in a different color. (blue instead of red) This model uses new parts and new techniques not available in 2002, including the windscreen from the 2014 Cargo Train. (60052) This Bluebonnet MOC is Eurobricks user raven1280's Bluebonnet MOD with a couple of my own twists inserted in some places. For example, instead of using custom stickers for the windscreen and porthole windows, I'm using regular Lego parts. Also, the undercarriage is black (not gray) on the bluebonnet engine because of this photo: (NOTE: this photo is not mine) http://images.mocpag...681_DISPLAY.jpg See Raven1280's topic here: http://www.eurobrick...c=97381&hl=blue Please note, the 1x1 tiles printed numbers "302" are missing from the engine's nose, and the letters ATSF are missing from the carbody sides, as they are not in LDD. The rear of the engine features crew walkways. Also, there is no inside of the locomotive and the roof does not come off. Semi-fictional background: Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe #302 is one of a very rare breed. Built in August 1949 as a “A” (cab) and “B” (booster) F7 diesel unit for the Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe Railway (AT&SF), This Electro-Motive Division (EMD) product was painted in a variant of the famous Warbonnet (red yellow and silver) color scheme called Bluebonnet (blue yellow and silver). The engine was intended for freight service and did so faithfully for 28 years. In late 1977 the two unit set was on the short list for conversion to an CF7 hood unit when the Wabash Frisco & Pacific (or WF&P for short) went looking for a engine to pull it's recently refurbished Merrimack River Runner. The Santa Fe gave them a two-for-one special on the tired F7 units, with the WF&P buying the A unit and getting the B for free. The new owner realized the historic meaning of this deal more than the old owner did: this was one of the last bluebonnet engines left, and one of a handful of AT&SF F7's not converted to the horrid looking CF7 hood unit. Needless to say, the WF&P snapped up the offer, and even sent the loco to the EMD La Grange, Illinois assembly plant for the motor to be replaced with a newer, more powerful and easier-to-maintain power plant. The units came back to the WF&P in 1979, and have since been teamed up with the recently restored Southern Pacific Daylight #4460 (owned by the St. Louis-based National Transportation Museum) for trips up and around WF&P system. This story is somewhat rooted in truth: EMD did build AT&SF a F7 numbered 302, but it probably did not carry the bluebonnet scheme and was most likely scrapped or turned into a CF7 in the 1970's. The Wabash Frisco & Pacific is a 12 inch gauge mile-long ride-on railroad, and although they have diesels, they only have a Alco PA lookalike, not an EMD F7. They are based in Glencoe, Missouri, and their website is here: http://www.wfprr.com/WFPRR/ LDD file for the bluebonnet diesel units: http://www.mocpages....1430676420m.lxf (Also, I've posted this engine before, but not in it's own topic. Sorry if i did something wrong by posting it again!)
  24. The first post is updated with new info, and new pictures of the Bright Hope in real life, among other stuff, such as the logo picture (courtesy of Scott Bourgeois from MOCpages. Thanks Scott!) Comments, Questions, & Complaints welcome!
  25. I have updated the first post with new pictures, (since the original pictures have been lost) and a updated LDD file. Here is a new picture: Here is the same station with my 2-6-0 "Mogul" and it's matching passenger train, alongside my 2-8-2 "Mikado" and a freight train.
