  1. LEGO Historian: I am a huge fan of your work, and love your posts. Now you are posting on a topic very near and dear to my heart: Trains! Please keep the info coming, as I eagerly await your next post. (Also, I plan on buying your book sometime, hopefully soon!)
  2. Victorian Townhouse LDD file: http://www.mocpages.com/user_images/80135/1430059147m.lxf Topic: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=101747&st=0
  3. Here is a new building MOD I just finished yesterday: Victorian Townhouse This building was originally the Brick City Depot 'Winter Village - Victorian House" model. (Link to it here: https://www.brickcit...victorian_house ) I removed the snow, and sloped-plate roof, and added a back half with stairs to the model. There is even a fireplace for keeping you warm on cold winter nights. The rear of the model features the chimney flue. As usual, this building hinges open and shuts on a Technic pin. The inside of the model features most of my standard details, such as a stove (which is supposed to look like it's hooked into the chimney), couch, vintage phonograph, table with lamp, curio cabinet, and twin-size bed. I have even included a analog clock on the wall above the fireplace to complete the early 1900's look. LDD file: http://www.mocpages....1430059147m.lxf
  4. Thanks, I remember Railroad Tycoon! I spent many hours playing the game on my step-fathers Dreamcast video game system.
  5. Because it's fun, and doesn't everyone at some point in their life want to wreck a (toy!) train like in the movies / TV? I did, and still do on occasion.
  6. Thanks, all my trains that are built have been photographed at least once. Here is my UK trains at MOCpages: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/393878 (rolling stock) http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/393877 (engines). My stations are here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=92328 (yellow 7997-MOD) and http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=103862 (Victorian styling). My US trains are here: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/400806 (locomotives), http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/400807 (rolling stock), http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/410264 (more coaches), http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/410025 (dark green coaches and matching steamer). town stuff is strewn about my town folder: http://www.mocpages.com/folder.php/135603 and Adventurers stuff is in this folder: http://www.mocpages.com/folder.php/177734 Hope this helps! Thanks! Lightningtiger designed the inspiration for this open-sided shed with one of his models.
  7. Great work! I can't wait to see a real picture of this. Do you have any plans to make a topic / more pictures about your green 4-8-4? EDIT: spelling fix
  8. St. Louis, Missouri, USA
  9. I based this model off of set 60009, (Helicopter Arrest) with the tools from set 10027, (Train Engine Shed) and the canopy specifically designed after the Roberts Shed at the Museum of Transportation in St. Louis, Missouri. This model is modular with the office connected to the shed via two Technic pins, and the roof and second floor connected to each other and the first floor by only a few studs. The 2-8-2 "Mikado" usually sits on the far track (near the rear of the office), while the 2-6-0 "Mogul" just barely fits on the near track. (near the rolling garage door) The building with the garage is the offices for the entire repair shop. Below the offices is where small parts are stored until the repaired engine is ready to go to it's home shed. The ground (or first) floor contains a lathe, drill press, and a vise to help maintain any engine that rolls into the workshop. This floor also features a garage which can house a small automobile of about 16 studs or less in length. The second floor contains a desk with chair, couch, & filing cabinets containing repair records. The office also contains a wood burning fireplace and a small deck by the stairs and over the garage. This picture here shows the inspection area, where mini figures scramble all over the engines to check for leaks, oil joints, and do last minute touch-ups to the paint. Here are the locomotives that go with this shed: 2-8-2 Mikado This engine is made up of four different models. This includes ScotNick1's 2-10-0 9F European steam engine, which was shortened to a 2-8-0. The second model is set 10194 Emerald Night, from which the rear truck was taken. The third model is Anthony Sava's Pacific 4-6-2 model and that comprises the inspiration for the tender. The boiler was inspired by the one in set 79111 Constitution Train Chase. Together, these different engines from four different eras and four separate builders come together to create this one steam engine. This model is actually a serious MOD of the Constitution Train Chase (set 79111) with Zephyr1934-designed piston design and Anthony Sava-inspired tender from his 4-6-2 "Pacific" with stripes from his 4-6-0 "Ten Wheeler". LDD file for the complete facility (minus steam engines): http://www.mocpages....1429721454m.lxf LDD file for the 2-8-2 "Mikado": http://www.mocpages....1429143369m.lxf LDD file for the 2-6-0 "Mogul": http://www.mocpages....1429819897m.lxf This is the completed facility and locomotives. Comment, questions, suggestions and complaints welcome! EDIT: added the Mogul's LDD file.
  10. Here you go Commander turtle, the first post is updated as requested! Next in line to build is this gem, Johnny Thunder's office (version 1): I can't do the other version as it's too expensive. This one is only $61 USD before shipping and handling charges!
  11. Thanks, and I was going for a 1950's truck mixed with the original inspiration, my original mod of the set 10222: Also, some of these objects are already built in real life. Please see this thread for the buildings: http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=106581 and here for the "modern" cars: http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=106317 or here for the Adventurers or "vintage" style cars: http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=106322
  12. Looking good! The 611 looks stellar, as does the green 4-8-4. However, I would suggest using Flickr or mocpages for your LEGO file sharing needs. Eurobricks is not a image hosting site. Not trying to min-moderate your thread, just a heads-up in case you needed to know. What's the green engine numbered anyways?
  13. Grays Movie Theater Topic: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=101747&st=25 LDD file: http://www.mocpages.com/user_images/80135/1429563317m.lxf
  14. ...and now for something completely different: IT'S ...a movie theater! The theater is modeled after the one in 2008 set 10184, Town Plan. The original upload of this model was in gray-scale way back in September 2014, and this is a colorized update of that model. I was going to name this movie theater Bleys, after the derogatory nickname of the post-2003 switch to Bluish Grey.... but I didn't want to stir up old feelings of resentment and stubbornness, so I named it "Greys" instead. I chose white panels for the windows and theater door because I have seen first hand how bad stickers on clear windows are, (my brother had this set) and wanted something more realistic. If I were to build this, I would use stickers (Shock & horror!) from both the Town Plan theater & Palace Cinema modular building, (as they are of compatible styling) and stick them on the front and sides. The letters G-R-A-Y-S would be printed on 1x1 tiles on the main sign (both sides!)... but the main "now showing" signage, however, would remain blank unless I Can fit the these words on it: STAR WARS - A NEW HOPE to replicate the 1977 showing of this iconic film. My town is set in modern times, so this could create some issues... Here is the inside, complete with Foosball table, waiting seats and refreshment stand. Currently however, there are seven seats in the theater plus the two for the people waiting outside, and one for the ticket taker. There are two soda flavors available, one of which is Sgt. Pepper, a Beatles and a Dr. Pepper reference in one drink! LDD file: http://www.mocpages.com/user_images/80135/1429563317m.lxf
  15. Post office and Delivery Truck LDD file: http://www.mocpages.com/user_images/80135/1429490041m.lxf Topic: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=101747&st=25
  16. Thanks LT, and sorry for the late reply! And now for a building that was originally a Pizza Parlor. (The same one from the first part of the original post) Post Office This is my LEGO town's post office. It was inspired by the B model of Creator set 31026, (Bike Shop & Cafe) and features a detailed interior, delivery truck, outside staircase and a hinge to allow you to open the building. This same hinge system "locks" the building closed by way of a Technic pin. Here is the rear of the building. The lower floor features a service desk, mailbox and two seats for waiting customers. The upper floor features a desk for sorting outgoing mail and a cabinet full of dead letters, a list of addresses for my town, and other assorted stuff. This truck is a MOD of the truck from set 10222, Winter Village Post Office. It seats two people and has storage room (with opening doors) in the back for packages. 17. This looks fantastic! The newly-added funnel and side rods really help with the "steam" look. Also, kudos for doing it in blue, as it is hard to do a blue steam engine because of the lack of windows. (Green is also right there with the windows issue!) Keep on steaming!
  18. Now I've got that Johnny Horton song going though my head: "In 1815 we took a little trip with general Jackson heading down the Missisip'. We took a little bacon and we took a little beans..." Anyway, great build!

  20. These trains are my latest works-in-progress. Some of these trains have been built already, and the topic's LDD screenshots will be updated with real pictures once they are done. Also, they all have LDD files available, and comments are most welcome! First up: Emerald Express with 2-6-0 "Mogul" In the real world, the locomotive was assembled from instructions on Railbricks for a MOD of set 79111, Constitution Train Chase, by a user named Zephyr1934. I then added train coaches inspired by set 10015, Passenger Wagon, but with inter-car connections and inset doors. (plus the rear platform on the observation car) The locomotive is a 2-6-0 (two leading, six driving, and zero trailing wheels) steam locomotive. Engine number 4613 usually pulls the Emerald Express. Combination baggage and passenger car for the Emerald Express. Two identical passenger coaches for the Emerald Express. The observation car of the Emerald Express. The letters BRS stand for Brick Railway Systems, the owner of the train. LDD file for the Emerald Express with 2-6-0: http://www.mocpages....1435538134m.lxf Meramec River Runner with 2-8-2 "Mikado" In real life, this engine is made up of four different models. The coaches are inspired by a 12 inch gauge railway called the Wabash Frisco & Pacific. The locomotive is a 2-8-2 (two leading, eight driving, and two trailing wheels) steam locomotive. Engine number 5916 usually pulls the Meramec River Runner lightweight passenger train. Combination baggage and passenger car for the Meramec River Runner. Three identical passenger coaches. The observation car lacks the letters BRS (standing for Brick Railway Systems) but it is owned by that line. Generic Freight Train with 4-8-0 "Mastodon" This model was originally ScotNick1's London Midland 7 Southern Ivatt class 2MT steam tank engine. I added a Anthony Sava-style Tender to this model about a year ago, and today I added a Constitution Train Chase -style boiler and recolored the engine reddish brown. coal gondola diesel fuel tanker drop side gondola (with hobo!) two identical boxcars flatcar with vehicle load rock hopper Brick Railway Systems bobber caboose Their is no LDD file for this entire train... however, the engine does have a file: http://www.mocpages.com/user_images/80135/1436900565m.lxf As I said, comments are always welcome!
  21. Sorry for the late replies and topic bump! Thank you. This might interest you: Here we see the real-life ship in a side profile. The mini-figure standing on the side is the Captain Edgar Danforth Fuller (or E.D. Fuller for short) We can also see the Grand Staircase's glass dome, which is between funnels two and three. The first post is updated.
  22. Could a moderator change the topic title to BTTF Time train MOD? I updated the ldd file and pictures, and the topic is kinda misleading. Here is my dramatic shot of the train.
  23. Brick Railway Systems company headquarters LDD file: http://www.mocpages.com/user_images/80135/1428872293m.lxf Topic: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=94494&hl=headquarters
  24. Sorry for the late reply, and thanks for the compliment. I have updated the first post. It now is a little more organized and features an updated LDD file.
