  1. Yes, Day 21 is inspired. Better yet, it is buildable.
  2. UoP DoH +1 for the Enviro and Rock credits. Same reason as Gabe. Nicely done, though.
  3. UoP DoH +1 for all credits claimed.
  4. I'm not a large army builder, nor am I a builder of any IP. I don't care who the character is supposed to be, so I would buy multiples of some 'unique character' if I wanted the parts for a uniform of a small group of soldiers. I'd make them distinct from one another with heads, hair, armor and weapons. I also have no problem with having flesh and yellow minifigs together, though I avoid using flesh neck torsos with yellow heads and vice versa.
  5. About Donatello's purple outfit, it makes me think of an auto-body shop employee, so maybe we'll get the CMF Welder's gear and him working on something.
  6. For Iceman (if Lego does this) the ideal color would be the little used Pearl White, but another close match would be Milky White. Two other colors that are close are Glow-in-the-dark White and Glow-in-the-dark Opaque. Glow-in-the-dark White is the color of the head of the Extremis Soldier minifig. We're lucky that the current Guardians of the Galaxy doesn't have Martinex, because he and Iceman look too much alike.
  7. If you do wish to make improvements, you do have some time.
  8. Most of the hair for the minidolls are soft ABS, and it doesn't have the plastic sheen. It's more apparent when placed next to the standard plastic in that color. Before photographing, I suggest polishing it with a wet q-tip. The pearl colors are the only ones that don't seem to have this sheen miss-match.
  9. Wonderful. + 1 for all credits.
  10. If you're talking about this torso, then you should know it has been used for GOH, most notably as the standard torso for Damaximus' Mpya Stedor Market Guards. I've used that torso to represent a couple of them in two of my MOCs.
  11. This Batman may make a good sci-fi character with a shoulder armor to hide that bat symbol and maybe a Pharaohs Quest 'horus' headdress. I also love that Penguin torso. Gotta get that set.
  12. Wonderful. I have no qualms about posting +1 for all credits.
  13. Good one NM, and look at the sample pictures, so Kaliphlin.
  14. Iron Man in the comics has used large military planes as launching points/suit storage when out of the country. He even had a space shuttle at one point. I wish we had gotten a set based on the convoy ambush scene from the first movie, but there are some places Lego won't go.
  15. UoP DoH +1 (Remember that tree credit is one of three.)
  16. NM, you were an international personal shopper? Lego Store? FAH! I live in Florida, but have never been. The purchase opportunities aren't worth the travel costs.
  17. I think the top two are Galactic Enforcer from Space Police III and Interstellar Starfighter from UFO. That is if you don't want to count Shuttle Expedition in the Sculptures line.
  18. It's a Brickforge longbow.
  19. This is a wonderful start. And we should all be grateful that Hinkley is around to offer knowledgeable suggestions. There are building techniques found in other themes that could be useful to your build. When it comes time for statuary, I suggest you look at some Batman build techniques, TLG and MOCs, as Gotham's architecture is supposed to be Gothic revival. I once considered doing a cathedral, and one idea I had planned to use was a transparent 16x16 baseplate with trans-colored plates and tiles to create a large stained glass window. Are you planning to do any internal build lighting for display or photography? I wouldn't worry about being seen as copying Merkel's(Romas) work. There are parts now that didn't exist in 2008. A gothic half-arch exists now. When it comes to mixing grey and bley, it can be done to great effect. Consider The_Cook's and Hinkley's comments about Durham Cathedral, that many stone structures were rebuilt or added to over time, often with different source stone. There were quite a few in Indiana Jones sets.
  20. I'm not a 'fan-boy' so if I buy any of these sets it will be for parts. I'd put up Cap, Hulk, Spiderman(doubtful anyone wants him) and Modok for trade. All the others I have uses for. Hopefully that sticker on the Spiderman 'trike' is transparent, as I have a use for it. Powerman's outfit looks like it would make a passable wet-suit, or something for a classic Blacktron I build. That Spiderman 'copter wouldn't be hard to re-color with existing parts. I think I have most of them in my collection. The cartoon Green Goblin (much bulkier than the any of the comics' transformed goblins) can be used for some sci-fi. Doc Ock has yellow hands and what looks like yellow printing, but has a flesh head. Is that supposed to be gloves and an undershirt? That torso could be a suicide bomber. Falcon also has yellow hands, but I'm not as familiar with him. Doesn't he wear red gloves? Remove the wings and change the head to a standard yellow, and I'll have a nice addition to my Kingdoms Lions figs. That Hydra henchman will make a good cargo handler, with a head change. I'll be tempted to remove the printing from the head to use as a plant part. Electro's torso and leg printing would look good next to the Yeti fig's. Those trans-(medium?)blue arms might be good for some sci-fi greebling. Is he medium blue or medium azure? Red Skull, Thor, Taskmaster, Mary Jane and the truck driver get deconstructed too.
  21. Google Chrome has been having trouble with Shockwave today. Don't know how related that is, but it made opening Yahoo News pages difficult. @C.J.Cultrone9: Posting from your Fickr page seems to be working fine now. The return. Destroyed Bridge by CJCutrone9, on Flickr I just use the 'Toggle editing mode' switch.
  22. UoP DoH +1 on all claims. This is going to be difficult to compete with. Especially since I'm doing some lighting too. I'm using Google Chrome and the website the images are hosted at isn't being recognized.
  23. I was able to convince my local library to order this, and should have it in hand soon. Now anyone in my county with a library card can give it a read. Public libraries should have more Lego books, and I'm happy to do my part in seeing that they get them.
  24. Visiting Herbologists still needs one vote.
