He's referring to Mike S, who has had several name changes. Back on topic. Chima parts make for awesome creature variation, but I agree, some of the head pieces are just ridiculous. An accounting of all the races of Historica, and their dispersion, is a must, but how to do it is the issue. This is a list that would need to be continually be updated. A thread on this board would get lost, or become overlong. A dedicated page on the wiki, with a subset listing is probably the way to go. All the sign-up/discussion pages could have a direct link. The people who create new races, or a new sub-species or sub-culture of an existing race could do the additions themselves.

If they did Batman Beyond, I would wish the set to be something from 10,000 Laughs. The Joker King and some other Jokers (in that story there are hundreds) could be the enemy, and we could get the old Dick Grayson in tactical combat gear. Vigilante also makes his appearance in that storyline.

Book II - Kaliphlin: Guild sign-up and Discussion
gedren_y replied to SkaForHire's topic in Guilds of Historica
Yeah. I discovered the pin holes in the bottom are just the right size for the tip of the Speedorz rip cord. The idea came weeks ago, but I had to get more rip cords. I'm thinking of putting 'snow covered' goods inside. I just have to figure out what to use as the source of the 'magic'. I'll try to keep it purist so that when I've completed it, I can post how to make it so you Mitgardians can have your own. My uncle saw it and thought it looked like something from a sci-fi show. Maybe with a little re-dress I'll be able to use it for that some day. -
Am I seeing a white bowler hat on Tremor?

Here's the WIP of a Mitgardian magical chilling device (made by their dwarves) for transporting perishable goods. It still needs work, but I wanted to show my idea for the use of those Speedorz zip pieces. Mitgardian WIP 1 by gedren_y, on Flickr When completed I'll be adding it to my Anti-Climax: Nestlands Market scene along with the Mitgardian shipping magnate Andrius Hierre. That Vulture set will be a must have for the reddish brown large wing pieces.

I am of the opinion that the March release date has to do with MegaCon. As a major fan convention, Marvel and DC should be there. It is possible we could see the trailers for Guardians of the Galaxy there, and if so, we may also get to see the Lego sets. Dare I type the "E" word? Speculation . . . gotta give it up.

Future Castle sets - put your hopes and ideas here
gedren_y replied to Alfadas's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Given that Lego produced several new molds just for the LOTR/Hobbit sets, I expect we'll see them creep into the standard lines slowly after the license runs its course. -
I doubt the minifigures are any lower quality, given that Lego produced a Creator castle set during the Kingdoms run that used a full quality fig. For those of us that MOC with the current line of figures, this will be a major parts pack.

Mega Bloks had the license to Pokemon in Japan, but given the Amazon pricings for the thirteen sets listed, I don't think they have it at the moment. Another company has produced what are being called Pokemon Mini Figures at approximately Lego minifigure scale. They appear to be accurate renderings, and have gone through at least a dozen series.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2014 Rumors & Discussion

Michael Bay is supposed to be one of the producers. Johnathan Liebesman is the director. This is also a Nickelodeon Movies Production. -
There is a way Lego could do the Green Lantern Corps as mini sets that would be relatively inexpensive. They could make small container sets that include a fig. Something like the Holiday Ornaments with parts to build a couple different models. This could work for Wonder Woman's invisible plane, and a few other superheroes. They did this with the friends line this passed holiday season. In Marvel, I could see the Human Torch, Invisible Woman, Storm, Jean Grey, Venom, Carnage, Magneto and Namor. If the ornament sets would be too cost prohibitive with the license, they could create something like the Star Wars Plants series.

Book II - Kaliphlin: Guild sign-up and Discussion

This all depends on where you are at. In the US, there are plenty of resale stores on Bricklink that offer bulk rates. If you want sets that are good for parts, I just purchased a Friends jewelry box set that comes with a number of tan 2x2 modified inverted tiles for ~$15 (lots of good pastel colored bricks too). Also under sales and deals on the Lego website there is a small Chima set for ~$3.50 that has some useful tan, dark tan, green, dark green, lime green and dark brown parts, as well as some interesting stickers. I have four of these sets and will be using the Speedorz zip pieces in an upcoming build in a (hopefully) new way. -
The Nestlands Clans are human. They worship the Armored Eagle Goddess. They believe the land they inhabit is their fabled Nest of Metals, where they believe they will find the Egg of the Goddess. Once found, the Goddess will return to flesh form. (I am in the process of designing a large figure Goddess and Egg, but some of the parts I need are rare and expensive.) The various bird peoples are considered by the Nestlands Clans to be descended from great heroes of the past who were blessed by the pure bird spirit. This is all Clan mythology, though. Since they are not true birds, they may be fought, but most clans-members would prefer not to.

jeroenaa, your first race already exist in the Kaliphlin. They are the same race as the Mad Monks.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2014 Rumors & Discussion
gedren_y replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
When it comes to the inclusion Spiderbytez, I think it has something to do with the fact that the new spider leg part made for a major storyline in Chima could be re-used. The same way they re-used the man-bat arms originally designed for Monster Fighters. -
Why so late to the party? I just purchased four more on sale. Chima parts have made great additions to the GOH forum. Loving that we'll get more colors of the wings. I have some build/story projects that would be greatly enhanced by what we've seen in the prelims.

I don't think Lego has made their mohawk in white. I know of only two customizers that make a mohawk piece, but the one that makes theirs in white doesn't look like Storms mohawk. Edit, scooped.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2014 Rumors & Discussion

The set says Broadway and Bleecker. I saw Bleecker, and I immediately thought of the original TMNT movie. April's home was on 11th and Bleecker. At least someone along the way wanted to make a nod to the original movie. -
I still believe that the delay is intended to make the release coincide with MegaCon. I also think we'll get our first look at the Guardians of the Galaxy sets there.

Blackbeard is public domain, and the character wasn't really based on true accounts. For someone living you need the rights to their likeness. While Stephen Hawking's may be available (he does a lot of self-promotion), a Lego figure in his likeness would be difficult to produce without a specially made wheelchair. I doubt we'll see any of these real world characters in the Simpsons CMF. If we do actually get a Simpsons line of sets it would likely take a couple of conditions to get the real world characters. 1) Fox would have to own the rights to merchandize the cartoon likenesses of these people. (Lego isn't likely to seek out those rights for a single figure.) 2) The character would have to be part of an iconic episode of the Simpsons. (Not that many.) 3) The cost to produce the character would need to be able to recouped. (Given the dedicated molds required for the look of the Simpsons, this seems like the biggest impediment.) That's just my own logic of the situation.

Book II - Kaliphlin: Guild sign-up and Discussion
gedren_y replied to SkaForHire's topic in Guilds of Historica
Welcome Drake Kantor. This is a great time to be Kaliphlin. A grand community build, hopefully with prizes, has many a Kaliphlin citizen stricken with home-guild fervor. On the issue of the main gate, since this town is on a major trade route, it could have many gates. What we need to determine is which one is the primary trade route gate. This should include trade goods going to and coming from Nocturnus. My take on Sultan's Gate is that the town has been built over centuries, and expanded beyond a couple different walls. The original fort should be overlooking the cliff, and has been rebuilt several times. It is close enough to the Rakath Mountains that some of the material for the buildings could have come from there. Close enough for some wood, but also various stones. This could free us up from the sandstone look. Remember, also there is an orc tribe living in the lands below Sultan's Gate. -
About the "X-Jet", IIRC, in both X-Men: Evolution (cartoon) and in Ultimate Spider-man (comic) it was a short and wide vehicle. The iconic 'Blackbird" was a take on the SR-71. That real jet has long since been surpassed.
