  1. I don't like Gandalfs hair. When I was looking at the Hobbit, It seemed that Gandalfs wig resembles Thorins hair alot. So i painted the piece gray. But I'm stil not sure. Any idea's? The hat with the hair was another experiment.
  2. I absolutely love all the orcs from the LotR and Hobbit line. They are so detailed and I feel like they look so much better than the Fantasy Era trolls. Heck, they even look better than the more recent CMF goblin IMO. With that said, I was wondering what orc is everyone else favorite? Why is that particular orc your favorite? Is it your favorite from the movie, because Lego did the best job representing them, because the orc just looks amazing, or what? If it is an orc that has different versions, like the Mordor Orcs with and without hair, or the Gundabad Orcs with different face paint, which one of that particular type is your favorite?
  3. So with the LotR theme done (or close to it besides some "fun packs" through Dimensions and the slim possibility of an Ideas Minas Tirith), I thought it would be nice to see which set people like the most. Why do you like that particular set? Is it the minifigures, the build, the scene it's based on, or what?
  4. Looks like LEGO's answer to Skylanders with real LEGO toys. Will be another TT Games LEGO video game about a villain tearing rifts between the various LEGO worlds and kidnapping certain characters. Uses many licenses and themes, including The LEGO Movie (which makes some of the other licenses redundant), Lord of the Rings, DC Comics, Back to the Future, Ninjago and surprisingly, The Wizard of Oz.
  5. Now that all of my Lake-town Guard polybags are gone, I have a new updated list of things for sale/trade and things I am looking for. I am currently looking for: Uruk-hai Undead Soldiers (from Pirate Ship Ambush) Pirates of Umbar/Corsairs (from Pirate Ship Ambush) Mordor Orcs (any kind will do, hair or bald) Moria Orcs Orc Hunters (ponytail version from Lake-town Attack Complete Witch King Battle For trade I have: Hulk bigfig (tan pants) Green Goblin bigfig 3x Rancor 3x Wampa Tantaun Newer Jabba the Hutt Older Jabba the Hutt Rotta 4x 1x bigfig tan Troll (from Fantasy Era) The Lonely Mountain (no minifigures or Smaug, just the bricks.. great for getting pearl gold and sand green pieces cheap (less than 7 cents per piece)) Some of the stuff I have for trade is new and still sealed in the plastic baggies (Rancor and Trolls). I am also willing to sell anything I have for trade, just make me an offer. Thanks for reading.
  6. Hey Guys - Here is my first shot a making a couple of customs. I used the waterslide decal technique. I think these came out ok, but I am planning on doing a second draft to perfect them. Any feedback would be great so I can improve the second time around. Huge thanks to floed (Alfrid) and DarkKnight7 (Faramir) for the amazing decal patterns!! ALFRID FARAMIR
  7. This is my "The Great Eye: Barad-dûr" Lego Ideas set. It would be a pit for Lego to never produce any more large sets for the world of Middle Earth without a decent version of the main enemy Sauron himself and so I have made this set in hopes that one large missing chunk can be filled. If you want to support it in hopes of it getting made you can do so through here. Every vote makes a change so please do not hesitate to leave your support. It only takes a few minutes if you don't already have a account imagine all the time I put to make it:http://https://ideas.lego.com/projects/96737 This is the main image in a large resolution. If you wish to see more close ups there are many more to be seen on the Lego Ideas link. Let me know what you think. -Gus Something happened with the post the title should be ""Sauron in armor minifigure along with Barad-dûr (Lotr) What do you think?" and it posted it twice. GG

  9. For Round 3 of the 2014-15 Middle Earth LEGO Olympics on MOCpages. My category was Pippin, so this is my interpretation of the scene in Return of the King when Pippin looks into the Palantír while in Edoras. I wanted to capture the emotion of the scene, rather than just recreating it. He feels trapped the Eye, consumed in darkness. And in the distance, he can see the Tree of Gondor burning, signifying the fall of the Minas Tirith.
  10. This was a back-up entry to the Middle Earth LEGO Olympics on MOCpages. I built it before hand just in case the entry I actually submitted (which you can see here: http://www.eurobrick...00#entry2103221) didn't work out. :) The category is to take a song from the Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit movies (this one being "May It Be," which is played during the credits in Fellowship of the Ring) and interpret it into a build. I don't really have thoughts on why I chose this scene, other than the fact that whenever I heard the song, this one always came to mind. :)
  11. My entry to Round 1 of the Middle Earth LEGO Olympics over on MOCpages. The category is to take a song from the Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit movies, my choice being "Edge of Night," performed by Billy Boyd (Pippin) in Return of the King, and interpret it into a build. :)
  12. March of the Ent I'm back with my round four creation for Mocpages' Middle Earth Lego Olympics. This round again focused on characters, and my assigned character was Treebeard. I made a rather wispy lanky version of Treebeard, which I think look rather cool. Build Time: 10-12 Hours Enjoy! ~Nemo
  13. Boromir & The Ring Back again! For round three of the Middle Earth Lego Olympics over on Mocpages, we were again asked to build a creation based on a character assigned to us; and this time I was given Boromir. I've chosen to construct a creation based on the scene where Boromir is driven mad by the power of the Ring, and attempts to steal it from Frodo--who escapes from him by wearing it. The build is made from the perspective of Frodo while wearing the One Ring. Build Time: 10-12 Hours Enjoy! ~Nemo
  14. Hi everyone, Here are some custom decals I created, based on the official LEGO Rohan Soldier design. Feel free to use (and modify them), but please give me credit if used for commercial purposes. Thanks, ~RBC MODS/ADMINS, FEEL FREE TO ADD THESE TO THE CASTLE DECALS INDEX. Thanks!
  15. This initially was going to be my entry to Round 2 of the 2016 Middle Earth LEGO Olympics, but I wasn't able to get it done in time for that. It's fairly close the original scene, though I took the liberty of changing sizes to fit my needs.
  16. I had designed my LegoIDEAS Orc War Boar for... erm well for Orcs... (Yes the clue's in the name!) but I had also took a few quick shots to see if it worked with a Dwarf riding it instead. Anyway, let me know what you think and if you like it then please support the updated IDEAS... especially if you want to help inspire and show TLG that there is still a market and a desire for castle / medieval / fantasy themes and sets from the community out there. http://ideas.lego.co...132944/updates
  17. Hello everybody After seeing that fantastic Iron Builder MOC from Legopard ( https://www.flickr.c.../in/dateposted/ ), I decided to make something similar. Due to the fact I love playing Tabletop Football, I tried to make an Lego Lord of the Rings themed version. Lord of the Rings Tabletop Football by Balbo ., auf Flickr It works quite ok (so it´s possible to play with it), but the bar construction with the 1x1 bricks and the Lego 4L bars (they are inside the 1x1 bricks) isn´t perfect, especially when playing a real game because sometimes the bar construction can break. But I´m planing on updating the MOC with a new and more stable construction for the bars in the future Thanks for watching
  18. Hello everybody Yesterday I finally finished building my latest MOC so far - it shows "The Green Dragon" in the Shire, which is a Inn in Hobbiton. After I saw the fantastic Sandyman´s Mill MOC from TheBrickAvenger two years ago ( ) I really wanted to build the Green Dragon (which lies next to the Sandyman´s Mill in the Lord of the Rings movies) once in a similar style. The Green Dragon by Balbo ., auf Flickr I hope you like it
  19. Hello everybody Some days ago I finished building my latest creation so far: It shows the Ringwraiths entering the Prancing Pony in Bree (it´s a scene from the Lord of the Rings - The Fellowship of the Rings movie. The Prancing Pony by Balbo ., auf Flickr Credits to Simon Schweyer for the building technique for the pillars ( ) Thanks for watching
  20. Hi, I'm Anduin1710 and I'm an AFOL from Germany. I was born in East Berlin, this means to get a little LEGO set was always like birthday, x-mas and eastern together! And Lego was always very expensive too. ... I started to buy and collecting Lego, since I found the Lego Minifiures Series 2. I'm very interessed in history, so I found the historical minifigures pritty cool. I like Star Wars too, so I stared to buy some Lego Star Wars sets. I found the Lego Digital Designer to creat my own MOCs on my computer. I'm a big THE LORD OF THE RINGS fan, so I started to build my own LOTR sets. And with the Lego LOTR and THE HOBBIT sets my dream come true. In April 2014 I joined Lego cuusoo (now it is lego ideas) to publish my creations. Here are my projects: You can also visit me on flickr. Thank you for your attention.
  21. Hi I since we are missing some characters, I made them myself. most of them are not yet finished. Tips and comments are more than welcome. Beorn and his bearform. Gimli and his father (during the Counsel of Elrond). Thror and Thrain Galadriel with a crown and girly hair. Thranduil with a silver crown.
  22. This is my entry for the Middle Earth Contest, Category C. The Ring Goes South Bilbo had been taking his mid-morning nap when he woke with a start from a dream he had been having. It involved the nine members of the fellowship that had set out from Rivendell some weeks ago. His nephew being among the travelers and the nature of their quest, he was naturally concerned for them. His dream had been so vivid that he had to write it down. After he had written about Frodo and the other travelers fighting their way through the heavy snows of Caradhras, he lay back down for his early afternoon nap. OoC: Since there is no gray version of Bilbo's hair, I've used the original hair colored piece. Take it as elves practicing dying techniques on Bilbo's hair. I added Bilbo to get this build within the criteria necessary to enter it in category C. I first entered it with the understanding that it was allowed to build anything from Lord of the Rings. I'm not trying to squeeze it through just to see how far I can push the rules. I really just don't want this dis-qualified simply because I misunderstood what was said. I'm not trying to win anything, I just want this build to be enjoyed.
  23. Door of During Price: $69.99 Includes: Gandalf, Gimli, Frodo, and Pippin Play Features: Help Pippin skip stones across the water with the Flick-fire missiles! Help Gandalf sit while he ponders the spell to open the Door of Durin! Crash the trees in front of the doors after the heroes enter the Mines of Moria! Notes: Sticker sheet not shown, Watcher monster sold separately. Please know that I am entering this more as a sarcastic jab at Lego's tendency towards certain infuriating trends than as a real set. I did not have enough time to work on a realistic set, but I couldn't pass up the chance to point out some Lego flaws in a fun way Like, managing to fit flick-fire missiles in sets where they don't make sense (Attack on Weathertop), sometimes having lame play features when all the people really want are the minifigs (Attack of the Wargs), and always including the same characters over and over again when we would rather have different ones (Gandalf, Frodo, and Gimli... seriously, how many times have they been put in sets?).
  24. This is my entry for the Middle Earth Contest, Category B. Retaking Moria With the death of the Balrog and the overthrow of Modor, many of the dwarves of the Iron Hills and Thorin's Hall set out to retake Moria. OoC: I didn't have a lot of time to make this bigger, but when I read the criteria for Cat B I knew I had to build something along these lines. I hope you like it.
  25. 167C Here's my latest which is an alternate build of The Goblin King Battle (79010) I think it didn't turn out too bad considering it is an alt-build. What do you think? Blog Post Rebrickable Link
