  1. That is an easy mistake to make considering that most historians believe that Blackbeard's real name was Edward Teach.
  2. Stonehenge is just the tip of the iceburg when it comes to Stone Age Britain. And little known fact, Stonehenge isn't actually a henge. Check out the DVD of Standing with Stones: a journey through megalithic Britain for more information.
  3. "Ancient Civilizations" would be a great idea. I would go even farther into the past. A zigurat from Babylon, ancient Polynesian sculpture; i.e. Eater Island, the nomadic Monguls or even Neolithic Brittain. All have an appeal of some kind. In a recent survey I suggested the Neolithic idea as Creator models. You'll be getting Egyptian with Pharaoh's Quest (Pyramid focused) and Grecko-Roman with the new Atlantis (bit of a stretch). NinjaGo looks like a bad anime, with too little classic Eastern architecture. All three are extpected to give us new parts, which is some consolation, but for people with an interest in history, something more substantial would be greatly appreciated.
  4. Wonderful. Too bad you can't buy it because it was made with pieces that are not available. So, which version of Holly is driving this Red Dwarf?
  5. If you are refering to official Lego themes, I tend to buy Castle (Kingdoms being the current one) and Pirates (discontinued for the time being). But I am willing to buy from any theme for parts. Most of my Lego purchases are for parts to further MOCs. I am not a purist either. I am quite willing to use non-Lego pieces in my MOCs, i.e. BrickArms, Brickforge, fake foliage. For my newest Kingdoms figures I would have liked to purchase from Little Armory, but the shop has been closed since before BrickCon.
  6. I may be new to this site, but on this topic, I have something to say. 1) While I have been resistant to 'fleshies', I will be happily awaiting this theme. So much potential for Fantasy and Historical. I can even see customizing possibilities for Sci-Fi themes if they do the crew of the Dutchman. 2) I wouldn't worry about the classic Lego Pirates theme. Lego recently placed Pharaoh's Quest on its products page. From the advance images I have seen (long since taken down by LEGO), it is a reworking of the Adventurers theme (with a tie in to Atlantis). Indy didn't kill it. Depending on the run of the Liscence, it may be some time before the classic Pirates theme returns (maybe with a new name), but I am sure it will. I would even hazard to speculate that POTC might improve the quality of a following Pirates theme, i.e. better weapons, more accurate ships, hair pieces. I remain positive and hopeful.
  7. Halo, I am gedren_y (no capitalization please). I am a Gemini from North-Central Florida with a strong interest in my Celtic roots. I am in to traditional swordfighting (NOT FENCING!), and have a growing collection of blades. My Lego build themes include Historical (Neolithic - Pre Civil War), Fantasy (think Forgotten Realms) and Sci-Fi (think Farscape or Babylon 5). I do enjoy my LDD and would like to thank those who posted instructions on how to enable Universe Mode. I am an aspiring writer (means no finished manuscript, yet), and have been published by the International Library of Poetry (means no money). My current work is the first in a rather involved Sci-Fi series. Hopefully, one day a TV series (a guy can dream). I am not a high volume poster, so I will likely only post if I have something substantial to add to any given discussion. I am open to questions.
