  1. Yup, yup, yup. UoP DoH +1.
  2. Wonderful wurm, Gabe. This would certainly qualify for a couple UoP DoH credits. Being in a contest isn't against the rules for credit claims.
  3. I'm wondering what Top Gear is in the UK. If it is anything like the US show Top Gear (on the History Channel), then three guys competing with each other with different vehicles of a common type won't have much appeal to kids as a Lego Theme. As for Doctor Who, as a fan of the early seasons I am sad to say that Lego has already stated that a competitor has the license.
  4. @Kabel: Wish I had enough for the trade. What I do have wouldn't really be worth the international postage though. @Ricky2000: I invented a whole culture in Kaliphlin when I joined last year. New organizations crop up in Historica often enough for this not to be a problem.
  5. Here's some "to be graded" Gabe missed. gedren_y - Visiting Herbologists - needs one vote Wedge09 - Eddy the farmer's field - needs one vote Wedge09 - Collecting the pieces - Alexander Vadagant's search - needs one vote Wedge09 - A ruined aqueduct - needs two votes mrcp6d - Mitgardian Fishing Trip - needs one vote To help the people seeking credits, I think both the Claim and Tracking threads should be stickied or at least added to the Story and Challenge Index. Oh, in sockerkid6's Tracking post his Kaldrfell Castle link needs to be fixed. Google Chrome won't recognize the link.
  6. If you want to own actual specially released figs, the advice above about printing differences is good. Personally I don't see the appeal. I'm a builder, not a collector. I'm willing to buy custom figures on the cheap (for my own uses) but only if the torsos, heads and legs are actual Lego parts with well laid designs. If you know the base figure is made out of inferior product, I suggest not bothering. If someone who knows the difference between real and fake spots it in your collection, you're the one who runs the risk of being embarrassed. If you know someone is selling non-Lego/customs as completely official Lego products, please report them.
  7. When it comes to Kermit and the other muppets, I was thinking about scale. If the minifig represents human size, the muppets (most of them anyway) would be considerably smaller. Take some time to watch Muppets Take Manhattan and you'll see what I mean. The muppets live in our world and they interact with people.
  8. Yesterday I took advantage of the Lego VIP special, free shipping and triple VIP points. I was only able to buy a couple of sets, but the parts I am getting are going to help with my Challenge build. I'm really happy that once this order is processed, I'll have over 200 VIP points. My next order should be a doozey.
  9. You're right, it's Dreamworks.
  10. If Disney and Lego decide that Princess Fiona gets to be part of the Disney Princesses line (if it continues), you may get it produced. The question remains; if they go this route, will you want it then?
  11. Something about John Carter: the screenplay is an adaptation of a book titled A Princess of Mars, published in 1917. Another studio produced Princess of Mars in 2009, as a NR film, based on the same book. Given the source material, Disney may not have owned the rights to the merchandizing. As for Wreck-It-Ralph: on the IMDb listings, under Company Credits, there are a host of other companies including Columbia Pictures Industries, Twentieth Century Fox (The Newman Scoring Stage), Skywalker Sound and Sony Scoring Stage. The movie is listed as written by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, though, so I may be wrong about the company overlaps being an impediment here. We may get Frozen as a Disney Princesses set later on if the line continues, as it is "inspired by" the original Hans Christian Andersen story The Snow Queen. Snow White could happen as well. Muppets Most Wanted (Muppets 2): I doubt we'll get anything based on the original Jim Henson characters. How would one make Kermit in Lego anyway? I doubt Million Dollar Arm will be Lego either, as the target audience appears to be the adult baseball and cricket fans. If you want your fig to have a cricket bat, I suggest going to a Brickarms seller. Saving Mr. Banks also seems to be an adult targeted film. The Good Dinosaur I could see as a Duplo line. There exists already a host of Duplo dinosaurs that could be adapted, but I'd have to see some film art to be sure. One movie (also listed as written by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures) I'd hope to see as a Lego License is Tomorrowland. It's slated for a 2015 release and is starring George Clooney. It is being directed (filming now by it's listing) by the director of The Incredibles, Brad Bird (who also has a screenplay writer credit). Clooney in Lego! I would be one fig closer to having my Ocean's trilogy crew. This is a long shot, as it also might not fit Lego's target audience.
  12. If you are referring to the back of the chair, that's this piece.
  13. Actually, there is more light blue and purple than there is pink in the new Friends style Disney Princesses line. They'll be parts buys for me too. There's also a new plant part that shows up there, in the 2014 Friends and 2014 Star Wars. The stickers appear to be transparent, so they could go on any color surface. There are a couple new detail pieces and printings on round tiles, as well as a return of that nice detailed arch piece. DC showed us in his Dark Isle MOCs that the pastel colors are usable for something other than overtly 'girly' builds.
  14. I always thought of Kaliphlin as both singular and plural, and referring to the people, not the place. I always thought of it like this: A man from the Kalaph is Kaliphlin. People of the Kalaph are Kaliphlin.
  15. UoP DoH +1 for all your claims. I like the feel of the speckling in the 1x1 round plates wall.
  16. The next upcoming CMF series is based on the Lego Movie, but the following one (some time in April/May) will be the Simpsons. This has already been confirmed. I wonder if the Simpsons House will be produced in Bright Light Yellow, Light Yellow, Light Orange or Medium Orange. Bright Light Yellow is currently in use, but Medium Orange looks more like the show to me.
  17. Steampunk ideas made me think of the classic H.G. Wells' The Time Machine. And the Big Bang Theory episode featuring that time machine.
  18. The best example of Classic Disney in Lego I've seen. The style you've cultivated with your Dark Isle series really fits the look of the old movie. And I've been meaning to compliment you on the Fulgore avatar.
  19. The theme falls victim to the 'girliness' syndrome, but I am loving the new parts, though some are also in Friends. Go to Brothers Brick to see more images of the sets. I'm guessing we'll see something from The Princess and the Frog later.
  20. I read the certification as being like the roof certification. You need a +1 for three different tree designs. You got my +1 for the big tree.
  21. UoP DoH +1 for all credits
  22. UoP DoH +1
  23. UoP DoH +1 for one (of three) tree credit and for the flowers and dense foliage landscaping credit
