  1. Given that January 17th is a Friday and February 17th is a Monday, this makes more sense. What would make even greater sense is Monday March 17th, given that the Simpsons CMF is slated for April.
  2. I'm wondering if this image violates site rules. In the upper left corner is what appears to be part of the standard Lego preliminary image overlay. And the flick-fire just below it makes me confident that we're getting the Blackbird. It also gives me hope that the figs aren't finalized.
  3. I have no problem with fleshies next to yellow figs. My castle building is primarily for GOH, and fleshies abound there. We also have blue, green and orange skinned peoples there as well. Strip the sci-fi from Ster Wars and you get some good fantasy figs.
  4. All I have to say about the set is PARTS!!!! I'm thinking it will be somewhere between 175 and 200 USD. The most comparable set I can find is the Monster Fighters Haunted House at 180 USD. While it's part count is even smaller than the sets strangely mentioned, it has six figures, a side build, and lots of interior spaces and details. Add in the usual licensing mark-up and 200 USD is not an unreasonable top price point.
  5. UoP DoH +1 for both claims.
  6. I keep no Lego sets as designed. Occasionally I'll use an element of a particular design, if it fits with my current build theme. I purchase sets for parts, so I will buy all themes.
  7. Now that I've seen the movie Yondu, I'm a little disappointed. I have issues 17 and 18 of the original GotG. I really was hoping for the large bright red fin, as well as the golden blade weapon hand. Hopefully the original look will be in the tv show, though I likely won't actually get it with my local cable provider.
  8. What I am waiting for are the movie images for Yondu, but Marvel seems to be keeping him under wraps. Given that he is being portrayed by Michael Rooker, I am confident he'll have his classic look.
  9. While Lego cannot officially produce movie specific sets, they can make comic variant figs. Having now looked at the characters chosen for the movie, I am really hoping we get Warpath (New Mutants costume) and/or Bishop (original series costume). We seem to be getting the comic DoFP costumes for Magneto and Storm. Cyclops isn't listed as a character in the DoFP movie, but his brother Havoc is. I am now flashing back to the original X-Men tv show when the X-Men encounter X-Factor.
  10. The greater History forum should tremble at the power of GOH! Big KUDOS to kable. Eat them quick before they go stale.
  11. I expect we'll see at least some Marvel figs at MegaCon in March, possibly some exclusives. Hopefully by then the trailers for GotG will be out, and we'll get a look at something.
  12. UoP DoH +1 for all claims.
  13. Wonderful set. A must have for certain parts. Is that blue ice-cream piece medium azure? When it comes to the apron printing on the figs, it makes me think they are supposed to represent semi-transparent plastic aprons. I've seen those on local truck vendors.
  14. Holy SFODDA! Now I really need to work on my Challenge build. Gotta compete with that! UoP DoH +1 for all credits.
  15. Woah. UoP DoH +1. Now I'm glad that I changed to category B.
  16. UoP DoH +1 for all credits. I was barely able to see the stained glass technique, though, as most of the pictures won't show up for me. The brickbuilt.tk site won't show up on my Google Chrome or IE. This page doesn't even want to load on IE. The only images that show up are the ones on your Flickr page.
  17. I had suggested Fantasy Era 2, but Royal Lions seems to fit. The king's heraldry seems to be a reworking of the Royal Knights heraldry.
  18. Actually, if your tower is geometrically round, it should only be able to connect at one brick. I've made round towers in LDD (takes a long time) and all bricks off of the starting brick will not connect to any studs in plane with the starting brick. Lots of tiles would be required. This goes for anything sitting on top of the tower as well. The recent advent of the 1x1 round tile is a big boon to round tower makers.
  19. Yes, tan should be the primary color, but I see Sultan's Gate as an old fortification that has been rebuilt repeatedly. The walls wouldn't be as uniform as the Walls of Valholl, and the settlement should reach beyond the old fortified walls. I'm thinking lots of tent structures and irregularly placed buildings outside the old fort. I just have this image in my head from reading the Forgotten Realms classic The Halfling's Gem (book III of the Icewind Dale Trilogy, book VI of the Legend of Drizzt series). When Drizzt reaches Calimshan (I can't remember the name of the town) there's a chase sequence that describes such a hodge-podge settlement in good detail.
  20. UoP DoH +1 for all credits.
  21. Thanks for taking care of that, Gabe. Has anyone given any more thought to the proposed Sultan's Gate community build? I ask because some time in the spring I may want to propose a community build surrounding the Nestlands Quest for the Egg of the Armored Eagle Goddess. This reminds me, I need to get working on some page editing for the Nestlands on the wiki.
