I think that is because of the friction of so many axles, gears, driving rings, conveyor belts, tracks and the bucket, that is why they use 2 clutches (and An XL motor instead of a M or L one), but is good that you finally made it work, it has happened to me too, at half of the building process i say "i think this piece is not necessary, why would i need it?", and when i finish the model, i find that it doesnt work, but that is a part of building (and the earning of experience), it can happen to anyone.

What a beautiful picture, about that really bizarre (i mean rare but amazing) crossing of the axles with all those u-joints in the articulated body, i really like it, i have seen (and made) a lot of models with nice systems with complex designs that work, but this is one of the most amazing of all, it already looks cool, and it also works, which is even greater, about the turntable with 3 functions passing thru it, it is impossible so far (at least for a 360 slewing, as you said), but i like how you solved this problem and you make a superstructure with its own power inside, is a very clever solution, and that arm is just a truly piece of engineering, lots of functions in that compact arm, i bet this model will inspire many people (including me).- 42 replies

Good to know that, thanks for the information, i must say that the goal was achieved really fast which is good too, it means there are lots of supporters.- 780 replies

Those working machine gun and turret are just too amazing, you are so clever when building things at such small scale, the gaming pad controlling is very cool too, and the subtractor transmission seems to work great, the details are outstanding, the V12 engine, the turrets movement, the hull itself has a so realistic shape, i think Lego should consider making some tanks like this one, but sell them to +18 only, i would be happy driving a tank like this one; nice model and video.

Really amazing work, it is perfect for an introduction, the amount of details and functions is outstanding, and you made an excellent work with the renders and the explanation of all the mechanisms, there are so many clever builds on it and you made a great work making it so compact and powerful, i have subscribed to your channel (the first one and i hope the first of lots of new subscribers) and i hope to see more models by you with this level of awesomeness, and to finish, welcome to Eurobricks and thank you for sharing this amazing model.- 42 replies

I am kind agree with you, if your design is too basic or is like a too "standard" design to be considered an original idea, like a very basic gearbox or axle, you shouldn't need to credit anyone as the design is too basic to be owned by someone, you would say that you made it by yourself, but you also shouldn't take it as your very own idea, i mean you cant say that that design is your because it is too basic (is like if someone says the "wheel" idea is from him, because it is used by too many people and the idea is so simple that it cant be own), but if our idea is very complex or very specific, which mean that it is not easy to be exactly replicated by other people, then you should be able to say that that is your very own idea, and if someone takes that design, and as you said, he makes it 1:1, exactly the same parts and functions, that person should at least say that it was based or inspired in the idea of the original builder.

That car is looking very good, very nice shapes and details, the picture quality is outstanding as well, nice work. -
Good idea, i have replaced the 24T gear with a clutch one, thanks to the free space i have in the whole steering system, there are many configurations possible for various strengths, for example, you can change the 8/24 gears (which is more for heavy off-road where strength is needed) with 12/20 or 16/16 ones, that would be for flat surfaces where speed is more important that strength: The green axle connector is the main design to add a turning steering wheel, there will be a reduction from the engine to the steering wheel, so it wont spin like a turbine and will be much more realistic; i have also started to make the rear part of the chassis:
-
Small update, inspiration came and gave me a punch of ideas, and the front steering system should be ready, maybe i will add some minor changes, but i feel good so far with the result, it is pretty robust and with a lot of torque but enough speed: I couldn't attach the 4L axle from the U-joint to the CV one, because LDD limits the CV´s movement to only 17 degrees and i need about 20-22 (which is possible in real life and i have tested it); @Didumos69 Good to know that you know what i was talking about the chassis bending :) .
-
Exactly, it actually should be like that, i will consider this in my future models when i mention someone for the idea, instead of giving the credits, i will put something more like "inspired" or "based" in -Builder name and idea-, i have also realized that all of this is like the music industry, there are many musics which sound almost the same, there are always "plagiarism" critics, but it also happens because the musicians sometimes are unconsciously inspired by other musics, without knowing, and what is even more important than that, because the musicians unconsciously make these musics, it is impossible to know who was the very first person who make a certain music, tune, melody, etc, and looking at this, maybe we all should consider this point, the difference would be to mention from where we got the ideas or if there is a similar build but we weren't consciously inspired by it.
-
Thanks for sharing that Pat, i might borrow that idea of the hitch, good thing about the version i am making is that i have like 2 more studs of free space behind the rear axle to incorporate it, it would be under the PTO Motor, by the way, that UHN looks fantastic, the chassis bending is really cool.

I think that every single builder no matter who is, who uses another builders idea should at least give a mention or credits to the original designer, it is all about humility and respect to the other builders, people shouldn't feel sad because they needed to use another builders design in their models, why?, because you are showing that you are able to use another builder design to make many other amazing things and which could be potentially better than the original design, it has happened to me for example in the LDD gallery, i have made several models for my own, but i have also seen many other models which have many features that i really like, instead of feeling sad because i couldn't make that before, i take that idea, i make it even better, but at the time of publishing it, i give the credits to the original designer, this makes all the people feel even more comfortable to use my own ideas in their models, and that is the best part, when the people mention you and give you the credits for your ideas, because you did the same for them, this is a beneficial collective activity, which lets many builders to know new ways of building, it also makes the builders to know each other better, helping them to reach their goals and to be known in the communities; so, i really think that giving credits for a design, even if it is completely the same or if it was just inspired, is a good choice and will make everyone happy.

my bad, here is a picture of a U5000, which is the even most capable off-road version but it is still applied to the u500´s, you can see how the cabin and the rear cargobox move to different sides because of the bending of the chassis, it is done thanks to a flexible connection behind the cabin and in the front of the cargobox, which makes this kind of movement possible: I have also made some advances in the front end, the mounting plate is fixed better in the chassis, so it wont pop out in case of a hit and it has been made as close as possible to the real mounting plate, i have added a working towing hitch, which can be removed if needed, so, now i need to find out a good system for the steering and once i finish that, i will start to make all the rear part of the chassis, which will be the same as the front part in terms of structure:

LEGO Aquarium
Imanol BB replied to MajorAlvega's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hi, i think it looks really amazing, it would be a very cool decoration in mamy events (or even houses), maybe some people could say that this is not fully Technic, but is not my case because at least the pump and the air tubes are from Technic, so i can accept that; i like the shell and how the air system works in this model is pretty nice, maybe some people would say that is not a very acceptable or purist solution to use nuts as weight, but for me is okay if the viewers don´t see them; i think you made a very cool work on it and it works as good as it looks, thanks for sharing your creation.- 7 replies

Amazing work Dudumos, it looks pretty robust and works really good, and it is amazing how fat you can shift it with the paddles or override it without jamming anything in the system, i really like it.- 24 replies

Axle Collection Thread
Imanol BB replied to efferman's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
The panhard bar is the one which maintains the axle in a certain position and avoids it from moving side to side, TLG has used it in the 8110 and the 42043 the problem is that when it is compressed, the axle tends to move sideways,so i recommend using 3-4 links suspension as this system that wont displace the axle sideways when is compressed. -
