It looks amazing with the chromed parts, is very impressive how fast it goes; in the minute 2:30 it was so close to flip over but it got back on the 4 wheels, looks like it is very stable, nice work RM8.

I think that this is what Pat does: You must use specifically this round tile to make it work: http://rebrickable.com/parts/14769

I have finished the windshield cleaners, they are very similar to Pat-ard´s ones and they add a little bit more of realism (despite they are only for display), thanks to Pat for the inspiration: I have also made some small progress in the cabin tilting system, but it still needs a locking mechanism; and i find something great in YoutTube, it might give a little bit of inspiration for some builders: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R53WpYOkeCY

[MOC] Scania R500 6x4
Imanol BB replied to Razor's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
What a great truck, full of details, that crane looks really cool too, seems to be very robust, and the trailer is a great addition too, all these elements make this truck very nice, i like it. -
[MOC] Tiny tiltrotor
Imanol BB replied to Rascko's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
It looks really good, i am wondering if that is what you call "tiny" model how would be a huge one? i thought that i would find something about 20 to 30 studs wide, but i found this huge monster, and i must say that i really like it, the details and the functions are so realistic, the proportions are nicely recreated, i really think that you made an excellent work here, and good luck with future modifications and creations. -
Tatra Dakar Truck
Imanol BB replied to Sariel's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
It is amazing and very fast, the suspension works perfectly, maybe it might be a bit unstable in curves, but you can easily expect that from a truck, specially at that speed and that size but it is still a great model I have also seen a few real vehicles that do this, despite they are not designed to do that; but it is a nice addition to the model, it adds even more realism and still looks amazing. -

Hi Wemb, welcome to Eurobricks, i suppose that you are talking about the 42042, if that is case i tell you this: This crane was made to be slow, why?, because it is based in real life crawler cranes (which move really slow) and also because most of the customers of this model wouldn't want it to be running fast, it is not a real Lego limitation, and i am sure it can go much more faster, you would only need to change some gears in the gearbox, let me see the instructions in internet to find a way to make this easy to make for you.

Thanks for the help and the inspiration Pat, i will see if i can make some progress on my mog (And add those windshield cleaners)

Oh God, those windshield cleaners, i knew there was something missing in my mog, all those those details are very awesome, they give a lot of inspiration.

What a beautiful collection, i wish that i could get a collection of that size in near future, they look really amazing, maybe you could try to make one of those futuristic Unimogs, or one of those old Mercedes Benz Trucks; i really love how all those vehicles look together.

Yes, i am planning to build it (Or at least that is what i hope ), that is why i am doing my best to make it not too expensive, my main calculations are that all the parts to make this MOD from the standard version would cost about 350 to 400 Dollars,150-200$ in PF components (1 battery box, 1 IR receiver, 3 switches 4 L-motors and 2 XL-motors) and others 200$ in the remaining pieces, of course that this would be that expensive if you only have the 8110 and no extra pieces, but if you have many spare parts the cost can be drastically reduced. That U500 looks amazing Pat, the double cab and the extended chassis are really great details, i also see that you kept the the round plate for the MB logo on the hood, i wasn´t sure if the U500 should have or not the logo, but looking at your model and that the logo would still look good i think i will keep it.

Those trucks look really cool, the 3rd party tires add a lot of realism and the custom platform look amazing, these trucks are very realistic and the video quality is very good as always; by the way, where is that music from? i really like it.

Hello again, after many time watching some Unimogs, specially the series of the U400 and U500, i realized that none of the previous Mod´s that i made weren't enough to match the real shape of the Unimog, and i decided to make a drastic change in that, so here is the current model rendered in Bluerender (special thanks to Gabi_BC for helping me to finally install it): The first improvement i made was in the axles, as i wasnt satisfied with the wheels turning pivot i made a new system which uses knob gears based in Didumos69´s knob wheel drive axle, which lets the pivot point to stay 2 studs closer to the wheel, this also required some extra reduction from the differential with a 12:20 relation (Because the previous 1:3 reduction was removed to improve the turning pivot), this also made the planetary gears to have half stud less of clearance under them, but it is not a big problem because the overall clearance was improved with the removing of the previous gears: The final steering angle is about 30 degrees (After some testing, i found that the tires don´t collide with the chassis, even when compressed): I also added an axle guidance in the front axle, i borrowed this idea from Efferman´s Unimog UHN, and it resulted to work pretty good: A good thing is that i successfully kept the anti-roll bar system, it is the crossblocks connected to the connector with crossaxle: About the cabin, i changed many things, the front was heavily modified to be similar as possible to the real Unimog front angles and shapes, the turning lights are bigger and more vertical, the cab also ends 1 stud lower and the hood is 1 stud bigger: I also improved the locks, now they are easily accesible (I hide some parts to make the mechanism more visible, this part is actually much more reinforced): The mudguards were improved too, instead of the curved liftarms, i used curved axle connectors, and because wheels displacement is less, the mudguards are very close to the tires but they don´t collide too much, but if they do, the have a flexible design which lets the tires to keep their way, this also let me put the ladder 2 studs forward: The mudguards look a bit weird in LDD because they are not connected, but they do in real life, the other thing that has been one of the most important goals is to make all of this MOD´s with the cheapest parts as possible, i have changed all the 5L liftarms with 3L liftarms and 2L ones with axle hole, and like this many other improvements, other thing that you might see is that there are a few details which are not of the U400 but of the U500, like the lateral mounted lights and the roof small orange lights, i did this as the U500 sometimes has more cool details than a normal U400, but you are free to tell what do you think of this; so, the remaining functions and details needed are: Create a connection for the cabin and the chassis to enable tilting (Yes, i needed to remove the old mechanism and a improved one is required because of the new cabin design) Create a new mechanism in the cargo bed to allow the walls to drop Improve the rear mudguards Add an axle guidance to the rear axle Add a new exhaust pipe because the old one doesn't fit with the new cabin locks Make new mounts for the headlights Improve the rear part for better looking I hope you like it; as always, any suggestion in welcome.

This is a very cool truck, the amount of details is unbelievable, it could easily be confused with an scale model or even with a real truck, even when this is your first post, this model, the quality of the pictures and the presentation are very amazing and completely outstanding, nice work.

Hello everyone, some days ago i was looking some projects on kickstarter and i found this: It is called "Flexo", and it is thought to add many new ways of building to Lego, it consist in 2 parts, a custom brick with connections, and a tendom-like part which enables movements as flexing, twisting, bending and bouncing: This project could give more awesome functions to normal buildings, which wouldn't be posible or easily achieved with normal bricks, with the Flexo parts you can make small vehicles suspensions, suspended bridges, trampolines, catapults, brick built conveyor belts and many other things. The project has been already launched and will be founded in Kickstarter: https://www.kickstar...building-bricks So, share your thoughts about this project (I posted this topic because i didn't find an already existent one of this project, if it was already posted or this is not the right forum for this project, i ask for the moderators to delete or move this topic to another forum)

Those rims look pretty cool in that model, they will surely be a great addition for more detailed cars; i also must say that at the first time when i saw the picture and the tires i was wondering why wasn´t this posted in the 3rd party tires topic, then i saw the rims and what you explained that this is not for tires but for rims, for me is okay, but maybe the topic name should be changed to "RC Rims For Lego Technic Axles", so it would be more specific, but these are very great rims, i really like them.

[VIDEO REVIEW] 21307 - Caterham Seven 620R
Imanol BB replied to Sariel's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Just saw the video and i am very impressed, the details are the greatest that i have seen in a official model so far, the printed parts look amazing, and some of them are incredibly small and detailed, the way that they put some of the parts to match the real version is very clever, despite having no functions, this would be a very cool model for exhibitions, i also like those supporters, they are a very weird but nice addition to this model, they give even more realism to it, and the video and review quality outstanding as well, nice review Sariel.- 22 replies

Hi Effe, first of all i want to say that all the projects that choose are always unique, as well as your building techniques; this truck that you are building looks really complex but interesting, many moving parts, lots of functions, it would be really cool if lego could make a vacuum pump, so models like these (and many other models out there) could be created with a lot more realism, this project looks very promising and i will love to see it finished, i hope you luck in the building and the contest.
