  1. It looks really amazing, the truck reminds me an Unimog U500, with that long chassis, those big tires and with a good ground clearance, the storage boxes and other details are very cool, and the trailer looks amazing too, it has a good design and is very realistic and detailed too.
  2. I think this is a very useful application, if i had an Sbrick and a smartphone or tablet, using the touchscreen is an annoying thing, mostly because my hands are pretty big (like those Sasquatch hands), and because of that it is a bit hard to see the screen and control all the buttons, but looking how well it works with a normal controller, it gives me some hope about using it with a controller, is really cool, i think István Murvai;made ab excellent job in this app, by the way you also made a nice video and review.
  3. Hi, i think that the best option (or at least what i would do) would be the second one, but only if you make sure that everything works right, that way you could get the linear actuator and the boom to have a better look balance between them, about the string, some designers use fishing lines and nylon strings, bur this lines can also wear and cut your pulleys if they are under high pressure and movement for long times, to solve this, i mostly use multi-filament nylon lines, is almost the same material and strength, but because it has multiple filaments instead of one, the pressure has more distribution an so, the wear and cutting is reduced, and the pulleys last longer.
  4. Hi Huaojozu, welcome to Eurobricks, i think your point is valid, i haven't seen many voiced reviews of Technic sets, most of the voiced videos that i have seen (of Technic) are custom creations (MOC´s) or tips and ideas (except for a few reviewers), i think this is because is easier to put words instead of voices, because with words you only need to add the text and in case of a misspelling, you only fix it, and also it doesn't need to be exactly synchronized with the video, and the voices in the other side, they must be fully synchronized with the video, and have the same duration, even doing this with pre-recorded voices divided in small parts can be not too hard, but lazy (and also if you need to make multiple languages, as deehthe said); and also, i think that a few reviewers don´t like to speak, either for accent or only because they don´t like their voice in the videos (if i would make a video, i will surely have these problems), and they feel more comfortable to use words, but we could maybe see in a near future that some of the reviewers start to use voices in their videos, for me it is a great idea, and i also think that this topic will make some reviewers to start trying this feature.
  5. There might be many people with information about this kind of cranes, you could get many inspiration from them, but it also depends of the scale, this factor can completely change the way you build a crane (the parts amount or the way they hold the weight), so, if you want to make a crane it is recomendable to look at your parts inventory, this way ou will have an idea of how big you can make a crane, and after that, try to look for cranes of the same size or scale, and with that you could be able to make a good quality crane.
  6. Finally a walker, i was expecting for a long time to see one, i first saw bucket loaders, tracked excavators and some other things, but hadn't see a walker, yet, it looks good so far, and it must be a little hard to make it only with 2 legs, but i hope you can finish it, looks promising.
  7. It looks really cool, it is also pretty compact and can extend a lot, the details are amazing too, i like it, i think you made a nice work.
  8. This is a pretty interesting project, is the first scissor lift car i have seen, and it looks good so far.
  9. It looks fantastic Mario, is really cool how you made the crane, it looks to be enough strong, i also like how the body can be removed to put another implement or something, is very cool; i think you made an excellent work.
  10. Those are pretty nice details, the way you make that turbo-like thing with the bevel gear and the hoses is just amazing, very realistic, i love it.
  11. Hey Sariel, now that all we know that this rotary dumping system can work perfectly with those curved gear racks, what would you think about to make a bigger one using the hailfire droid wheels?, so you could make the dumping pivot point to be at the same point of the train magnetic coupling, and so, decoupling would not be needed; is only an idea i have and i am not sure if it will work as good as the original system.
  12. I had a similar idea of what Saberwing made, using the 5.5L axles but there is the problem of the connection with the outer wheel, and i think it could be solved using these wheels: https://www.steinpalast.eu/documents/image/85/8551/8551.JPG and connecting them together with 3L pins, it is just and idea, but it might work.
  13. Didn't thought in that, thanks for the tip Doc, maybe some day (hopefully) if i can get some trains sets and i am able to make a similar mechanism i will use this information (and maybe use some of Sariel´s great systems and mechanism to make it)
  14. I just saw the video and i must say that i really like how it works, fast and accurate, something that i would really like for the rotary dumper is if there was and automatic decoupling system, some kind of mechanism that could separate the wagons from the locomotive, so the system would be 100% automatic, but it is ok how it is now, for the belt loader maybe the conveyor belt speed should be reduced a little bit, so it wouldn't spill too much material out of the system, but overall all the systems look very good and would be very amazing additions to a layout or a GBC.
  15. It looks very cool, i think it has a good height, not too low so it can get through some rough terrain and not so tall so it is stable, the engine looks amazing too, the whole truck looks like some kind of Mad Max vehicle, with that fast and robust looking and those lights and that body, i really like it, nice work.
  16. That is looking very cool Doc, looks pretty robust.
  17. Another control controller, maybe , the whole model looks really cool, i would suggest to put the motors in a higher position, so they will not hit the ground when off-roading, but the overall model looks pretty nice.
  18. That happens to me too, that mostly happens to me mostly when put or remove pieces, for example, the crossblocks tends to crack in the cross-axle hole if i put an axle thru it and make a bit of stress, the thin liftarms and the axle connectors break in the cross-axles holes too, i have also experienced some cracking with the 3L pins and this piece (specifically only with this color): http://madaboutbricks.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/Lego-4211865-32054-1x-Light-Blueish-Grey-Md-Stone-Medium-Standard-Grey-2M-Friction-Snap-With-Cross-Hole_2.jpg, but as well, i have i almost havent broken almost any gear (Only 1 old grey 12T bevel gear) or many axles, they only tend to flex, but most of the pieces i have are strong enough and i really like that.
  19. Compared to many other toys made out of plastic, i think Lego pieces are between the more durable and stronger ones, i have seen some broken pieces (some of mine) which were broken by a big and lasting stress or by a big hit, but for a piece which is make only of plastic it is very impressive (and you must also consider that most of the pieces have hollow-like structure, to reduce cost and weight, just like birds bones), just see, how many toys have you seen that are able to move 2, 3, 4Kg or heavier models with plastic transmissions?, or able to make a crossbow that are able to shoot 30g objects at more than away 20m? (and this is true, because that was my crossbow), i know sometimes there are pieces which crack with just a little bit of force, like the crossblocks or other pieces like that, but overall all the Lego is a very strong and lasting toy, i have some Lego bricks which are more than 20 years old, and they are still strong, it is possible that Lego is trying to make new materials or new technics to improve the new incoming pieces, at this time i am not able to say if their queality will be better or worse, but with all of the modern technologies, i think the pieces will become better, but even when you could see pieces that could fail, remember that the design process of new stuff is a constant history of fail and success, but at last, lets hope all will be better.
  20. Sadly, because most of these people who steal the videos barely write that the videos are about Legos, it is really hard to find the stolen videos, most of the time they are found randomly, what is good about this community (Eurobricks), is that because many of the people know every popular creators and their videos, is easy to know if a video was stolen by other user; i also suggest to create a topic about stolen videos and their uploaders, so we can easily browse in that topic for an specific video or user and see if they have been already reported in that topic and if not, any member can report them, and in some cases report them in YouTube if the problem keeps or gets worst.
  21. It is a really impressive creation, i didn't knew that the new Mindstorms were that advanced and accurate, and able to do such complex actions, it is really amazing.
  22. I think that the counterweight arm, with a hollow counterweight is enough to get a good balance, with such amount of pieces i doubt you will have any balance problem.
  23. It looks really cool, at first moment i went directly to the pictures and the video and i was like "Wait, how the pneumatic cylinders work without the hoses", then i saw the strings system, and i must say it is very impressive, so many functions, which work smoothly and with enough force to lift heavy objects, i think this is a very cool model, nice work.
  24. If you have NXT´s you could make a robotic arm very similar to that one, using its servos and putting some turntables you can get a very decent model.
