LRW tournament #1
PKW replied to PKW's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
yes, sumo fighting are really funny, and you can make them with the kind of veichle you prefer, once i also did it with cars (the simple chassis built by mahj) and it was a real fun! thanks, if you have troubles with the bot or the file just tell me, i suggest to build it just seeing the 3d model, LDD instruction aren't well done -
Hello! mocers, I'm back! i just success to it this video I recorded this summer, it is a tournament with three middleweight BOT, you'll find the stats on the first part of the video, but here there is the brickshelf folder if you want to see more pictures of them, enjoy the video and thanks for watching! just some oddity: (ALERT:watch the video first!) BOB (originally named BOBCAT) was built (and driven) by my cousin, he loves to make simple but adamant and overpowered bot and (as said by some info at the end of the video) they are really effective in a sumo arena RIBALTOLANDO was the jocker robot, built by me, but drive by my cousin against SCORPIONE (tracked scorpion) it was a real challenge to build an invertible bot, but it should be really hard to defeat in a real arena (not in a sumo one) its strengths are all visible in the fight against BOB (maybe because I was driving it... hem hem ) SCORPIONE CINGOLATO is the evolved version of wheeled scorpion, but it ends like all my sophisticated bots, it is beautiful and really powerful but not too much realiable. Its main problem is the thermal cut-off of my lipo BB that is a little bit damaged and so the robot stops sometimes when reloading the weapon while tracks are running PS: this video is one of my first on youtube and i changed editor (from iMovie to light works) so due to some difficulties i deleted the whole original audio and replaced it with songs, hope the final work is something good

[APP] BrickController2
PKW replied to imurvai's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
thank you for the quick response! Sure stability is the main goal of future relase. About the interface i suggest you to add a Page for some settings of the digital imputs (joystick/ long travel Button like r2/l2 on the ps3) maybe some exponential control And this mix feature grouped like the List of avaible button To configure when creating a profile, so you will have enough space To add description like SKID STEER [Y/N] this feature is used To control skid steer veichle, the x axis will be the left track/wheel The y axis the right ore Now i can just drive with The forward in a strange position, but in my moc there is no space for a subtractor ahahah- 1,316 replies

[APP] BrickController2
PKW replied to imurvai's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
One important thing, is The app compatible with a ps3 controller linked via otg usb adaptor? And a suggestion: In The sbrick Profile designer you can rotate a joystick by 45 degree To automix the channels in order to control a skid steer veichle with a joystick, but this can't be performed with a real joystick. You should implement a function to mix the two axis of a joystick so we can drive tracked veichle with a joystick instead of waste 4 button. The mix function should appear as a tick to activate it and a list of what elemet are influenced by in the Profile editor, a mixed joystick will work in this way: Y left track/wheel X right track/wheel Full up: channel x and y full forward Right up: channel x stops and channel y full forward Full right: channel x full backward and channel y full forward- 1,316 replies

[MOC] Beach Buggy
PKW replied to Appie's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Appie usually i'm totally in love with your creations, and this time i really love The aethetics, but are You sure that To put shocks near The brachets pivot point and only on one side doesn't create friction or a bad shocks absorbing response? I had really many problems with uncentered schocks, And also with tuo strong one. (that 2m lever, the 12/m liftarms with two cross holes, are Three near The shocks To prevent them from moving?). also i am worried about The Electronic differential between front An rear axle, like The one that create trattino problem in the crawler set, Anyway this creations il really Greta, i want To See It in Action! -
I think there was some kind of pieces that look like a ski it shoud fit well Great job anyway! Waiting for the B model EDIT: i found it on bricklink http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?P=2823#T=C

[MOC] RC Motorcycle
PKW replied to Epic Technic's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I saw that with the implement of servos lots of bikers are running along youtube! this is an older video than yours and that motorbike works better, but I think that the problems are two: too big balancing weight, offroad wheels (they reduce stability) also this motorcicle has a lower gravity point, I don't want to embeed the video, this is your topic with your great motorbike, and the link is only another motorbike from which you can understand how to upgrade yours! good job epic -
[MOC] Audi allroad
PKW replied to Thirdwigg's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
lot's of time i thought about building subtractor "gearbox" biut the problem is that the torque of one motor weigh on all the other motors, and of motor torque is really lower than the one of the powered one so i think the car slows because other motor turn in the opposite direction and detract speed while they are unpowered, furthermore lego gears absorb loto of power and bevel gear also a bigger amount... so i don't trust in this kind of gearing, do you have a video where you show the different speed of the different "gearing"? anyway, the look of this car is really cool!- 17 replies

[MOC] Class 1 unlimited buggy
PKW replied to agrof's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I'm really in love with yor work! i always dreamed about some kind of suspension that emulate the real buggy ones, this is a brilliant solution, hope someone can use it also with the driving axles like real buggies to employ Rbuggy motors insted of L ones, unfortunatelly I don't have the pieces to give it a try, really great work! -

[HELP] Save the U-joints!
PKW replied to KirTech LAB's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I used this gearing up to save chains in my 4x4 tank transmission for a lego razer (from robot wars, with two wheels and two omniwheels) it works very well, but in that project it helped also to reduce the space and to avoid the use of an high number of gear -

What batteries to use?
PKW replied to Technic Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
from what i've heard, eneloop batteries are something reliable, but i've never tried them, I also have the same problem (with 2500mah energizer 1.2V) they last not really less but with less power, because of the voltage, for the 1.6V batteries I think that you should search for what is the maximum voltage at full charge, and if it is like an alkaline one (it could be near their voltage) and so you can use it safely -
Fishing line?
PKW replied to aminnich's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
yes, the problem is that you can fit normal string between pins and holes or between spacers and axles but with nylion fishing line it is very difficult because of their cylindric shape and 0.1 mm remains 0.1 mm instead of a sting that can be compressed really a lot ;) -
Fishing line?
PKW replied to aminnich's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
what i've also used was a string from some good kite, it Was fantastic for the high load of a crossbow string (really hard To load) but it can be fixed trough lego pieces simply ;) -
Sylvian's Moc's & Ideas
PKW replied to Sylvian's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I'm in love with all these stuffs and original ideas, only I don't like the use of perpendicular gear with your 2L motor setup, you'll lose lots of torque, also the steering rod made with the axle not strongly fixed to the two hubs (like this 6x6) but also with this particular mechanism yours seems to be really good MOC with a good engineering for the speed/power they're supposed to work, and it is clear that (like in the crawler) you know also how to make high performances veichle so congratulations! and thanks to sharing your work -
i like The look o this truck! why The use or 2 XL motor for that size, extreme power? how much weight Can it load? great work!
