PKW replied to PKW's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
just a moment: I'll edit this link with the topic of the advanced version of that robot ;) EDIT: http://www.eurobrick...opic=104571&hl= this is the link, you can find there an LDD file, it is powered by a green rubber-band ;) not a lego spring thank you, next week I'll post a small tournament with 3 robots ;) -

LEGO fighting robots that play soccer

thanks! I tried to make an nxt vs PF fight but I think is something really unbalanced, because a sumo robot is only something that move randomly on the field an hurt the opponent, while a "human driven" robot can aim to win the opponent without program limits, or also escape to its attacks. so a PF opponent is useful to test the strategy but is also something you will not find in a sumo competition… anyway, if an ev3 robot win a PF one (with same power/weapons) I think it is really well made and well programmed! I'm interested on make an NXT hose robot :3 -
Hi to all! waiting to the sun to film the RC Dawnbreaker I've edited and posted an old video that I've made to test my battle bots: crab and scorpion. During the video me and my cousin were talking in italian but don't worry: i've added some subtitles just to translate our wisecracks ;) Some stats about the robots: GRANCHIO (crab) weight: 900g weapons: claws motors: 2 XL(wheels) 2L(claws) strengths: 4x4, can keep the ball weaknesses: (hardly) flippable SCORPIONE(scorpion) weight: 900g weapons: flipping arm motors: 2 M (wheels) 1 L (reloading winch) 1 old 9V (gearbox) strenghts: atomic-like powerful weapon, defensive/offensive weapon weaknesses: hard to control (really), low traction enjoy the video (likes and comments are welcome if you like it ;) )

RC MajklSpajkl's Dawnbreaker by PKW
PKW replied to PKW's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
hope I can film something tomorrow, but I'm not sure yes, I changed the rear wing, just because of my taste on the rear axle that configuration IMHO is the best one for a good ratio of speed/power the use of an old 9V BB could improve the cockpit also using a 4M axle with stop instead of the 5,5 one, I could try ;) you car was really well designed (mine is only one stud longer and has that shocks absorbers :3) considering your limits due to the contest ;) and this motorized version is really simple-roboust-funny because it has a good starting MOC proud to be the first to build a MOD of yours creation the idea comes when a frind of mine asked me to buid a car for his brother, and searching something simple to buy and make yours is the best being taken from two sets :3 -
Hi to all! Proud to present you my latest MOC… ops, sorry, my latest MOD! First I have to thank MajklSpajkl that made an awesome MOC, but he has also made my work possible, so I decided to put some link to his creation: original topic, (where you can find instructions)second here is my MOD: important pieces I've add: -lipo BB (same size of the AAA one) -M motor -L motor -receiver -16M axle (EDIT ) -yellow shocks -U-joint I built this in more or less 30 minutes but it is a really funny creation! is has also a particular return-to-center steering based on an old force: GRAVITY! how it works it is simple (hope I can explain it as simple as it is ahaha): the car has an high caster angle, this angle auto-center the wheels while running forward, I've put the M motor directly linked to the steering 5,5 axle and it works well! in fact when the motor move the steering it forces the mechanism so when you release the command this elastic force make the motor turning back more or less at the center, it is not important that it is perfectly centered, because the high play of the steering make the caster angle center it with more accuracy :3 here are some photos (it has different colors because i've not built it from the two original set)

PKW replied to piterx's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling

PKW replied to piterx's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
can't understand how your steering works, but from the photos it seems that you don't want to show it ahahah, how the hubs are linked to the liftarm and how it to the servo? another thing, do you have problems with the panhard and vertical stresses that requires the compression of all the two shocks of an axle? like a landing after a jump ;) -

I really like your idea, only I think That the front spoiler should be larger, but this is my opinion, forse sure It looks great :3 EDIT: another upgrade could be To reduce The gap between The front wheels And The real body, making it shorter, the gap should be like The one of The Green /White virtual one -

lego guitar concept
PKW replied to PKW's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
those axles are connected with u-joints To the LA and I use them To tune (pull or loosen) the strings ;) unfprtunatelly the toner are not the same ad the real song but thet listen like :') (not look like ahaha) odd for me il really Good ahaha, I'm planning To make a mechanism To make it like a mechanic robot, some tracks are needed :3 yes you got It! @darsedz I'm using a ship keel (without cover) it works Well ;) it is the softer one I think from set 7906 -

PKW replied to PKW's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
yes It is, i need To make strings nearer To what in a guitar/bass is The handle or pressing The strings i'll lose tuning, they are made of plastic :') It is a Song from 1969 and has famous remakes during The 70s, its title is something you can eat :3 you can use, like me ahahah, lego axles To pluck strings :3 -

lego guitar concept
PKW replied to PKW's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
working on it ;) but I'm a drummer I'm not really able with springs mhhhh… I think the fail of a lego "box" is not only the gaps between pieces but also the vibration that they can bring and spare but you can use a lego bionicle box if you're a purist :3 PS someone knows how I can add a 200kb file? or I have to cut my audio? however it is only A try I think it doesn't matter if it is a short ATTEMPT to do a song ahahah -
after my strange and complicated 6x6 (that no one likes I think ahaha) I decided to build something simple that is extremely rare :3 I got the idea just today while playing with a broken white-out and looking to its transparent (because empty) string I remembered that plastic strings can be folded up to obtain stronger strings… i folded up, twisted several times one piece and i pull it, while plucked it made a good sound :3 so more or less in 2h (tune this instrument is not simple ) i built up this MOC, it is only a concept and it need (as rare part) only 4 LA it works like a pluck instrument or a guitar, but is has only 4 string like a bass (like a boss ) i use a minifig spear as plectrum, hope I can upload a audio memo file soon, this is the "guitar" -LAs are to tuning the strings -withe-out strings twisted with one L motor - a normal box as a loudspeaker - from the longer to the shorter strings are tuned in: C4 A4 C5 F5
