    Lego Gondor Moc

Hi Guys my name is Fordo Baggins (Frodo's secrect twin) I'm new to eurobricks and I just wanted to say hi. This is my Gondor Moc which I have created with my cousin. I would like some feed back if possible. Thankyou
  2. Good morning/afternoon/evening, I'm looking for the blue coat Bilbo figure that was given out with 'The Hobbit' DVD/blu-ray pre-orders earlier this year. Let me know if you have it for trade (preferably through a PM) along with your country of residence, your own figure wants and possibly a possible price point. If you've got any other figures from The Hobbit or The Lord of the Rings up for trade, let me know. I'm looking for many other figures from Middle-Earth as well. In most occassions, I'm only willing to do trades. (After my two ongoing trades are finished and my packages are shipped out, I'll post another topic for other LOTR/Hobbit figs I'm looking for, so I won't be putting too much hay on my fork. Even if you don't have this Bilbo, shoot me a PM if you've got LOTR/The Hobbit figs for trade.) By entering a trade with me, you agree that you're willing to ship first. As for my own haves, I have some less recent Star Wars figures and CMFs that I may be willing to trade. Other themes too, perhaps, depending on your wants.
  3. I know this topic has been brought up a lot in other threads, but I figured it would be nice to have a thread to discuss it in greater depth. With that said I am wondering what people's thoughts are on army builders/battle packs that include a unique named character. I know a lot of people defend them because they say the unique character appeals to kids (and AFOLS) who might otherwise not buy the set. I just don't understand that mentality. Obviously if the army builder is the ONLY set to contain a character like Eomer people will get at least one of them if they are a fan of the theme since it's the only way to get him. Lego could easily circumvent this by just offering Eomer in another set like Helm's Deep. Sure it sucks for people who can't afford Helm's Deep, but it's no different for them trying to get Theoden, King of the Dead, Grima, Haldir, etc. who only appear in expensive sets. I think even without a unique character army builders would sell extremely well, and possibly even better without them! Lego just has to be smart about it and put special prints or molds in for the grunts which would be exclusively available in the army builder. That way they still have the appeal of offering something unique, but they don't discourage people from buying multiples because they don't want all the extra Eomers or Thranduils. Do kids honestly look at a set and say "hey, this set only has 4 Uruk-hai and 2 Rohan Soldiers, I'm not buying it cause it doesn't contain any unique characters!" I know when I was a kid I ALWAYS wanted to buy tons of soldiers, even if my funds didn't allow it. I actually HATED when companies would not do the grunts like Storm Troopers, Foot Soldiers, etc. I think Lego might lose out on a FEW sales of army builder sets if they don't include a named character, but I think it would more than be made up for by all the people buying so many extra because they are "true" army builders. What are you guys thoughts for/against named characters in battle packs? How do the children in your life feel about it, or did you feel about it as a kid yourself?

  14. Based on typical Lego sales in past years, does anyone have an idea of when we will see a sale or vip deal this year? I've been planning on buying all the new LOTR sets, but I've been waiting for a deal. Just wondering if anyone is expecting a big Lego.com sale in the next couple of months.
  15. Meduseld, also known as The Golden Hall, is the center of power in the city of Edoras, the capital of the kingdom of Rohan. Build on a stone plateau on top of the highest hill in the city, the palace can be seen from afar by anyone approaching Edoras. Meduseld is built mostly from wood, but it was its straw roof reflecting sunlight in golden tones that earned the hall its nickname. Equestrian themes carved in wood or represented in tapestries honor the Rohirrim riders and the kingdom's love of horses. During the War of the Ring, Théoden King sat on his throne in the Golden Hall while he was manipulated by Gríma Wormtongue, until Gandalf, The White, came to free him. Gríma was then literally kicked out of the kingdom on the stone steps that lead to Meduseld. The following images were captured right before the Rohan people retreated to Helm's Deep. They portray a refreshed Théoden King between his niece Éowyn and his nephew Éomer, the Third Marshall of the Mark, shielded by archers and Rohirrim. About this MOC: I had been trying to choose a LOTR setting to build as my first post-dark-ages MOC for a while. Meduseld wasn't one of my first choices and I was already planning another Middle Earth landmark when the VII LugBrasil Challenge pushed me towards non-gray/blay subjects. Since I already had a good supply of brown and tan pieces and a dozen Rohirrim, the Golden Hall ended up being a natural choice. In order to keep my MOC within the challenge's 48x48 stud limit (and my own brick supply) I had to adapt a lot from the film trilogy Meduseld. Major changes were the removal of the stone obelisks and side halls, which contributed to the change of the roof profile. Even then, I believe the overall look of the building, inspired by Norman mead halls, was well preserved. The highlights are the wood-carved horses and the green and gold detailing to match the flags over the observation post. The hall's interior was also very simplified, being restricted to the throne room with a lightbrick-lit hearth and some benches. I had to improvise a crown for the King and hairpieces for his niece/nephew because they didn't look good wearing their helms, but those are presented to the sides of the throne with some weapons and the kingdom's treasure. C&C are very welcome and appreciated! Best, Preuss

  18. Hi guys, newbie here showcasing my first MOC. Having just recently come of my dark ages with the release of LOTR Lego (as a kid I ended with Lego with Aquazone back in 1997), I thought I would have a go at recreating the final boss fight of the excellent, but bug ridden game War in the North. I know there are lot of Tolkien fans on the site who would dismiss War in the North, but I personally like to include it as part of the PJ film canon. Anyway for people not in the know War in the North stars three new characters, a new fellowship so to speak as they go off to fight Agandaur, Sauron's right hand man in the North who bears a resemblance to the Mouth of Sauron. As stated this was my first build in coming on 15 years and was actually made only using the parts of all the Hobbit lego (aside from the minifigs. Anyway, comments suggestions etc. (I ran out of grey bits btw!) First up is Eradan - Ranger of the North and the Aragon of the game. As with this game there are a plethora of clothing options, here I selected his hooded guise. Next is Andriel - Elf loremaster of Rivendell. A female elf who casts healing domes from her staff. Finally is Farin - Champion Dwarf of Erebor and my personally favourite. trying to differentiate him from Gimli is quite hard side from the black beard. I may add Gimli's helmet when I obtain a spare, for now he sports the "Evil Dward CMF" helmet. The main baddie - Agandaur - Sauron's right hand man in the North. Using the helmet of MoS and the lone ranger head and urak-hai body and 2 sided cape. I really like how this turned out. So that's the minifigs below are the "set" that they would come in - the citadel of Carn Dum where the final boss takes place. it's not quite the whole scene just Agandaur's balcony and then the long pathway to the citadel. I added a rock feature which conceals a barrel which stores weaponry to mimic the stores of items that players "loot" throughout the game. Any comments/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks!
  19. Now that the second LotR wave sets have been out for awhile it got me thinking, what does everyone else think is the best set of the bunch this time around? How does this wave compare to the first LotR wave and the Hobbit wave so far? Personally I am torn. I generally like the bigger sets best because I feel they offer more (and the price reflects it ), but I feel like the smaller sets actually offer a lot this time around too. I definitely liked the first LotR wave the best though, mainly because of Helm's Deep and the accompanying army/wall builder with the Uruk-hai Army. Please note Tower of Orthanc is not on this list for two reasons. First off it seemed like it would hands down be the winner. Second I don't think it is technically part of wave two since it doesn't share the same LotR logo in the top right? So, what is YOUR Favorite?
  20. [CUUSOO] The Forbidden Pool - Combining Lord of the Rings and the Classic Forestmen Dear all, this is my very first CUUSOO project. The Lord of the Rings has taken me out of the dark ages, but one thing that I find lacking after the first two waves was a representation of the men of Gondor. Faramir, in particular, is my favourite Tolkien character, and I hope to see an official LEGO version of him in the future. This project is based on Henneth Annun, The Window on the Sunset, as it appeared in The Two Towers. I experimented a lot with the set and exchanged some play features - from a changing coloration of the inner waterfall (as featured in the book) to the current version with a secret entrance. My favourite LEGO sets as a child were the Forstemen sets, and Faramir's Rangers and their hideout reminded me of the green forest dwellers of the late 80s. I think this set is a realistic proposal for CUUSOO since it is not overly large and has the potential appeal to audiences from Lord of the Rings fans to young LEGO fans. I appreciate any comments! Cheers, Michael Link to the CUUSOO project: http://lego.cuusoo.c...deas/view/45646 Overview of the set. Henneth Annun by Elessar II Aragorn, on Flickr I initially played with the idea of having a two-layered pool with a lever that shot fish around but abandoned it due to ever-incraesing piece count. Gollum in Pool better by Elessar II Aragorn, on Flickr Secret entrance through the Waterfall. Henneth Annun - entrance through Window on the West by Elessar II Aragorn, on Flickr Secret side entrance. Secret entrance by Elessar II Aragorn, on Flickr The floor can be pushed down to create a slope leading into the lower level of the cave. I intend to improve on this section once I have more bricks at my disposal. Ideally, I will have more furniture on the upper level and a hidden trapdoor leading down. This would also free some space on the bottom level for weapon racks and a smaller chamber to interrogate Gollum. Secret door by Elessar II Aragorn, on Flickr This play feature features the Ranger ambush on Gollum. A sliding plate moves the Ranger out of his cover to face Gollum. Ambush by Elessar II Aragorn, on Flickr I'm not satisfied with the look of the map on the crate, yet - again due to limited space caused by the larger than intended slope. Faramir in cave by Elessar II Aragorn, on Flickr Proposed minifigures: Frodo, Gollum and - photographed from the video game - Faramir, Madril and a Gondor Ranger. Henneth Annun Rangers by Elessar II Aragorn, on Flickr
  21. This is Bilbo as seen in the beginning of The Fellowship of the Ring. I based his design off of the video game version, but it didn't turn out completely accurate. I'm thinking the upcoming CMF Grandma's hair could work for him. Might be a bit too lady-ish, though? Feel free to use.

  23. Hi I made two sets of council of Elrond into one.. Just to make it more like the movie and to make it big. Made more chairs, add tree's and made the hall longer. And with my extra Arwen, I remove the dress and putt on the legs from the soldiers/scouts from Lone Ranger theme. And put her next to my Attack on weathertop set to get wounded Frodo away.. what do you think... grtz raymond
