  2. Hello everyone, No one knew what this series is going to be like before seeing the official released images in earlier November 2013. There are lots of discussion accompanied with a high level of hype and excitement among the LEGO community, wondering what could this whole new concept is going to be based on? I also believe most of us have seen this earlier and as well as this which focus on the upcoming 'The LEGO Movie' which is slated for global release in 7 February 2014. All of these promotional materials which we can currently relate to, are definitely continue to build the hype and making this complete new series into a totally exciting new dimension which I will be sharing in this Eurobricks review.Before I begin this review in proper, I will like to give my very most sincere thank you and gratitude to The LEGO Group (TLG) for continuing to facilitate and giving me this very exclusive rare opportunity to access to this 'early' insight before many others, so I could have adequate spare time to work, evaluate and review this absolute newly LEGO Minifigures – The LEGO Movie Series. I will also like to give my utmost thank you to the Eurobricks Staff/LEGO Ambassador, CopMike and my fellow Eurobricks Staffers for being so helpful and supportive to this reviewing endeavour. Lastly, the most important person which I must thank, is my beloved wife, Kim/Belun for being so understanding and supportive throughout this reviewing period! I am truly very glad that I am able to able to continue to share this very special reviewing achievement with everyone once more. I hope I have not disappoint anyone in this review, if so, I will like to offer my humble apologies and I really hope I can continue to meet your expectations for this exclusive reviewing coverage. As the Eurobricks tradition depicts, let's do a formal re-cap for all of the past Eurobricks Collectable Minifigures polls once more. It started with a humble beginning of Series 1 followed by Series 2 in the year 2010 and it continue to spread like wildfire with another three strong waves of minifigures craze in the year 2011, putting Series 3, Series 4 and Series 5 in an excellent harvesting year. In the year 2012, we celebrated with Series 6, Series 7 and recent Series 8. With the beginning of the year 2013, we have the recent Series 9, Series 10 and Series 11. Now, I will like to invite the Eurobricks Community to cast their votes into this complete brand new LEGO Minifigures – The LEGO Movie Series poll statistics as well. Please do not be mistaken with the close relative of the blue colour family line such as the 8684 LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 2 colour schema or even the 8805 LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 5. These two series come with complete different blue shade. Pardon me, I won't be showing all of the previously released of the LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series for comparison. [Reference 1] [Reference 2] [Reference 3] [Reference 4] What could possibly contain within these mysterious sealed packets? This is the superb new LEGO Minifigures - The LEGO Movie Series group picture The LEGO Minifigures – The LEGO Movie Series is slated for worldwide release on the 1st December 2013 (unlikely to be correct) or 1st January 2014 (most likely). This complete new series has also taken on a new LEGO Theme name, and it will be regarded as 'The LEGO Minifigures' (MFs) instead of the traditional name known as 'The LEGO Collectable Minifigures' (CMFs). In this case, this will be different and special unlike the usual approach. So, what does this entail for the LEGO minifigures fans? Does this change the playing field? Fortunately, the fundamentals and principles of the LEGO Collectable Minifigures Theme remain to be a force to be reckon with and have found their way into the new LEGO Minifigures - The LEGO Movie Series. This entire selling approach serve as an excellent opportunity for the TLG to leverage the success of the CMFs and introduce into an one-off promotion to promote the very own upcoming licensed theme of The LEGO Movie in February 2014. This will certainly go right down into the marking of a significant milestone for the LEGO Minifigures history. So, does this spell the end of the success of the LEGO CMFs? I bet my gut feelings that this entire new marketing outreach approach has opened a new window of opportunity to introduce more variations into this LEGO Theme. Please do note that the naming that I have use for this review are official TLG minifigures naming for LEGO Minifigures – The LEGO Movie Series. So, there is absolute no doubt or misinterpretation on the naming used. Is this going to be LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 12? Earlier ago, there is an upbeat discussion on whether this LEGO Movie is going to be regarded as LEGO CMFs Series 12 or LEGO Movie CMFs something of that sort. Being LEGO AFOLs, we like to get our facts right and at that point in time, without sufficient clear evidence, things may get a little quite complicated peppered with high tensions from our fellow members and our Eurobricks Staffers had to intervene to calm things down. I will quote myself again in the past discussion: "This upcoming brand new release is to be regarded as "LEGO Minifigures – The LEGO Movie Series". This is the official naming for this Series. In short, it also meant that this minifigures packaging will be similar in the CMF design which we are familiar with. However, this is not exactly a LEGO CMFs Series 12 in exact but to infer as Series 12 shadow. This is not related to any of the LEGO CMFs Series 1 to 11 concept which I believe will take a short break and taking on another new perspective to present and market other LEGO Minifigures Theme. In this case, this is all about the upcoming LEGO movie. Am I making any sense?" In short, this is not exactly the LEGO CMFs Series 12 which we are looking forward to, but instead you get a surprising twist to treat this new release as the LEGO MFs - The LEGO Movie. This is just to clarify the pending matter and to help one another. No pointing of fingers of who claiming the rights of credit will be allow. We are an educated community, so let's just refrain and play well with one another. Front view comparison with the LEGO Minifigures – The LEGO Movie Series packet and together with all available LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 1 to 11 packets Now, let's put the LEGO MFs - The LEGO Movie Series packet, along with the rest of the released LEGO CMFs Series. You could see the distinct differences from one another especially on the top right hand corner where it now only state '16 to collect' instead of the series number. The rest of the packaging location is standardised with one another, except for the new placement of the LEGO Movie logo instead of using minifigures. Nonetheless, it is very impressive to see so many of these unique packets being arranged together. It is a pity that I did not include the Team GB Olympics Minifigures packaging in this picture. It will definitely make this showcase look much complete. Take a closer look at these. This is the front view of the LEGO Minifigures – The LEGO Movie Series packet, while this shows the back view of it. Last but not least, this is an image that shows the back view comparison for all of these packets. I am going to repeat this very 'same' golden rule, likewise in all of my previous reviews. If you are intending to narrow the precious and hard-to-find minifigures that you are bending to collect, please continue to hone the touch and feel method. It is an useful skill set to acquire and locate the minifigures that you want without wasting additional money to randomly acquire them especially when you are intending to buy large quantities. Your sole mission is to memorise and remember the minifigures assortments for each of the specialised designs. Isolate and identify the most unique accessory or accessories that appeared for the particular minifigure. From there, eliminate the torso, head and legs away and feel for other parts. The only disadvantage of this method is much idle time will be most likely wasted if the minifigures that you are seeking for does not exist in the box or ending up having sore numb thumbs after feeling. However, I personally feel that this approach is the most practical that works the best for me than any other uncommon approaches. Front view of the LEGO Minifigures – The LEGO Movie Series promotional poster Back view of the LEGO Minifigures – The LEGO Movie Series promotional poster 1) The destructive Calamity Drone This destructive Calamity Drone is the first listed minifigure in this LEGO Movie Series. She is a cyborg robot and certainly work for the evil President Business. Judging from her appearance, she seem to come from the Wild Wild West settings and I have absolute no idea on how this Calamity Drone will relate in this movie. Perhaps, she is being deployed to catch the main characters, Emmet and Wyldstyle. If you just look her from behind, you may actually assume that she is a damsel but whereas it is not entirely true. I also wonder if there is any strong association with the real Calamity Jane in the late 1800s or just a mere coincidence. Parts assortment The parts assortment is decent which include the brown musket as a choice of weapon. I am much pretty fond of her new hairstyle design, where the red hair accessory cap can be detached from the hairpiece. It is well positioned from the top and it is able to show a forward slant appearance. You can admire her gracious wild west outfit from her side view. However, you can see the true colours of her robotic skeletal from her clear front and back which clearly show her non-human nature. Watch out for my firearm Do I look fine to you? Bring it on... 2) The ruthless President Business President Business is the main antagonist in the LEGO Movie. I also understand that he is also known as Lord Business, presented in his other evil originator form. In normal circumstances, President Business will be wearing in his usual brick brown hairstyle and smart grey suit. President Business is the Chief Executive Officer of many global businesses, and one of which is the LEGO Octan Fuel company. As his other alter-ego, he is bending to dominate the world through his robotic cyborg army. Parts assortment The parts assortment is quite average even though I must admit that I am pretty fond of the red Octan printed mug. President Business comes with dual emotional mode and one of which showcase his anger. You can view his grey suit outfit in detail from the side view and back view. One of the interesting feature is President Business's brick brown hairstyle which is very unique and different from traditional design. My Octan Sales are not doing well... Find the culprit and bring him to me 3) The imaginative Hard Hat Emmet Let's welcome the ever jovial, happy and stress-free Emmet, the main protagonist of the LEGO Movie who will be going up against President Business to stop his plans from dominating the world. Emmet is foreseen to be or believed to be the saviour of the LEGO Universe to become the most extraordinary Master Builder, where in fact he is just an ordinary looking LEGO Town citizen that got himself involved in a bigger adventure of his lifetime and also to meet his dream girl through this quest. Also not to mention that, at any glance, you will most likely remember his name as "Emmet" since his name tag can be found printed on his left leg. Parts assortment The part assortment is quite average but there are lots of fun in deriving Emmet. I believe the main new feature is Emmet traditional classic red construction helmet which come with a new variation that include his brown hair colour all around his helmet to show his hairline. You can see the clear comparison in this image, followed by taking a closer look from his side view and back view. This printed 1x2 tile is a piece of interest, which illustrate something of an manual or work orders of some sort and I can't help but to think that in Octan, if you failed in your mission, you will feed to the sharks and be happy for it. Geez, I think the LEGO Movie will probably shed some truth in it. Did I not mention that Emmet also come with an extremely happy mood? Everyday I'm shufflin I want my construction of oil refinery finished! Why are you so happy everyday? Another busy day at work 4) The charming Wild West Wyldstyle "Come with me if you wanna not die.", as quoted by this main lead actress in the LEGO Movie, Wyldstyle donned in her beautiful Wild West outfit. Wyldstyle is also Emmet's love interest but I am not sure if Wyldstyle will reciprocate the love. Her iconic signature hairstyle is pretty nicely done and is unique to her character, which is evidently seen in her Wild West outfit. I wonder what sort of adventures do both share in this Wild West settings. Parts assortment The parts assortment is decent and the nicest thing about this minifigure is the black dress which is suitable for the medieval or pirates themes. You can also see the details from her front which even contain a small skull button at the centre of the neck as well as the dress laces at the back. Her only accessory is the black ornamental fan. Welcome to Wild West Isn't these exhibits cool? I do not fear you Superheroes assembled 5) The determined Abraham Lincoln I don't recall remembering TLG ever using any official representation of any certain real-life characters. In this case, this is certainly and surely one of the first non-fiction historic character, known as Abraham Lincoln appearing in the LEGO Universe. Historic fans of the United States history will definitely like to own a piece of history especially when Abraham Lincoln was once the 16th President of the United States. Furthermore, I am very fond of his famous quote in the upcoming LEGO Movie, "A house divided against itself... would be better than this!" and I felt it might be implying to the abolishment and banned of slavery in the United States. I can't be certain if it hold any true to it, but I thought it might be related in some form. Parts assortment The parts assortment is not too bad, especially the introduction of the printed tile that titled "Four Score and seven years ago...", which refer to the Gettysburg address by Abraham Lincoln that touch on the "Declaration of Independence", written at the start of the American Revolution in 1776. You can view the unparalleled detail of Abraham Lincoln from the side view and back view in LEGO minifigure format. The hairpiece assortment is a combination of his tall black hat and his black beard. It is non-detachable and is make up of a little mild soft ABS hard plastic. You can view the clear difference without his hairpiece on. Do you know my real identity? We came a long way in history Going back into history 6) The caring Mrs. Scratchen-Post This is Mrs. Scratchen-Post and I got absolute no idea of what is her role in the upcoming LEGO Movie. I supposed I describe her as a caring woman, mainly is because for her love of cats, similar to our Series 11 Grandma. I am quite certain she should be playing a fairly important role in order to get herself included into the movie series. Parts assortment The parts assortment is pretty neat especially the inclusion of a new design for the cats. Her grey colour hairstyle is nice on its own and we take this opportunity to compare with the Series 11 Grandma from the side view and back view. Their love of the cats is evidently shown on their torsos which will make a sweet treat for cat lovers identifiers. Swap with one another Blind date Who are you? 7) The nasty Scribble-Face Bad Cop The nasty Scribble-Face Bad Cop is employed not for serving justice but solely following the orders of President Business. He is also the right-hand henchman of President Business and is hunting Emmet and Wyldstyle in this wild goose chase, hoping to arrest either one of them. He has a good side and a bad side personality. In this case, this minifigure design does not show any good side of him, but instead you will notice his appearance being scribbled by hand-drawn sketches right on his face. I really wonder what is the main cause of it and I will expect the movie to explain the outcome. Parts assortment The parts assortment is decent and it include a handcuff in this packet. More importantly, I am particularly fond of this printed tile which feature the usage of a LEGO Smartphone. It contains numerous applications at the main page and one point of interest is the Octan app and the rest of the apps aren't too hard to guess either. You can view his smart black appearance of this injustice cop from his side view and back view. The minifigure design is versatile and can be easily applied and transformed into a generic LEGO Police Officer with his cool sunshades and unfriendly face. HELP ME... Law Enforcers On assignment 8) The poetic William Shakespeare As I have mentioned earlier on the Abraham Lincoln minifigure, this is the next second non-fiction historic character and it is none other than the poetic William Shakespeare. He is a well respected and renowned poet and playwright of the 16th century. His accomplishment include works of Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet and many more. It is truly surprising to see this real life character coming to assume as a LEGO minifigure and it is a sweet treat for literature and arts enthusiasts and can be matched together with the Series 8 Actor. Parts assortment The parts assortment is not too bad as it include a quill and a 2x2 printed tile which feature an interesting quote "To build or not to build", which is very nice to note for LEGO fans like ourselves to contemplate whether if we should go ahead to build or not to build a LEGO set. This is very delightful surprise and I came out with my own rendition of "To brick or not to brick", in the earlier LEGO CMFs Series 8 review. The original quote is from Hamlet and is infer as "To be or not to be". The hairpiece is nicely done which reflect the close resemblance of the real life William Shakespeare. You can view the close details from his back view. Personally, this minifigure can also be used in other historic settings as well. You are part of my creation? Let me tell you a story and it all begins with... 9) The strong Gail the Construction Worker Although I am not very sure who the character, Gail is all about in the LEGO Movie but she is the first female LEGO Construction Worker ever created. In the past, it is proven that the LEGO Construction industry is a male dominating environment until she comes about to show us that females can also equally handle this tough construction job. Judging from her rugged appearance, Gail is no frail damsel in distress. You can probably guess that Gail is capable as well as her male counterparts. Parts assortment The parts assortment is average and the drill equipment is something which we have seen before. However, the nicest thing about Gail, is focusing more on her traditional red construction helmet which encompass her long brown tied hair at the back. It is non-detachable and the details can be spotted from the side view and back view. The back view comparison of the highly visible safety vests for Gail and Emmet are of two different printed designs. Working colleagues Lots of drilling down here 10) The hardworking Larry the Barista Let me introduce the famous LEGO Barista, Larry. He may look kind of dull and lethargic but he brew great coffee that will just perk you up in office. Larry seem to be quite popular among the LEGO fans as I understand that his expertise is require in many town areas for his great coffee brewing skills. As of now, you will probably recall from the movie trailer, seeing Larry charging Emmet for $37 LEGO Dollars for a cup of takeaway hot drink. Oh, he can be easily identified as "Larry" especially when his name tag is printed on his right hand side of the apron. Parts assortment The parts assortment is good and most of us will likely aim to acquire the printed takeaway drink for our minifigures to hold onto. It's awesome to know that the drink can be held by the minifigure. Larry's hairstyle is in dark brown colour and I am also fond of his styling. You can view the outline of his hairstyle from the back. I will surely be using his hairstyle for my other male Townies for different variations. What is your order? Hot cups of cuppa 11) The scheming Velma Staplebot This Velma Staplebot is a very scheming robotic cyborg which I believe the one who has engineered the cryptic world domination plan for President Business on this Super Secret Plan: Taco Tuesday. When I first saw her picture, I find this minifigure design to be very familiar to another character and true enough, it might just be referring to Velma Dinkley, a cartoon character from Scooby Doo. When I discovered this, I realised this is actually an interesting fact to behold. Perhaps, it's too much of a coincidence but Velma Dinkley and Velma Staplebot could just be a reincarnation of herself since she is regarded as a highly intellectual individual with science as her specialisation. I really wonder what kind of diabolical plan will they come out with. Parts assortment The parts assortment is not too bad especially taking into account of her overall minifigure design and the 2x2 printed tile featuring the clipboard mentioning the Super Secret Plan: Taco Tuesday. Her iconic new hairpiece is something which I am very fond of. It is retro looking and you can admire more of it from the side view and back view. A change of appearance The full hunt begins My evil minions Carry out the 'Super Secret Plan' 12) The excited Taco Tuesday Guy Without having an opportunity to watch the movie first, it is very hard to infer or guess if the Taco Tuesday Guy is truly innocent which is being 'used' by President Business or Velma Staplebot or at the same time, thinking if he also knowingly participate in this elaborate set up. Some of us are happy to see the return of this fellow especially for those who have missed it earlier in LEGO CMFs Series 2. It never hurts to get a similar counterpart for our Series 2, Mariachi, so it is nice to see a new re-hash of this guy. Parts assortment The parts assortment is great, especially when we see a new sombrero and poncho designs and you can see them altogether in here. You can see some of the details from the back view. The detailed printed Taco Dish where you can place 1x1 yellow flat tile to represent as a form of cheese tacos, is truly nicely done up. Boss, all ready Taco Tuesday Fiesta Taco Tuesday 13) The unpredictable ’Where are my pants?’ Guy Come on everyone! Let's search for his 'pants'. Oh great, I hope this is not some sort of publicity stunt by President Business or even probably a reality show by this infamous ’Where are my pants?’ Guy. Apparently, he seems to be losing his white pants all of the time. I wonder why he can't keep it on. We will leave it to find more details in the upcoming LEGO movie, hoping it will shed some light onto this matter, because it is very hilarious and weird to see TLG coming such a strange conceptualised design. Parts assortment The parts assortment is average and the best thing about this entire concept, is the addition of a minifigure leg. This ’Where are my pants?’ Guy is the first minifigure ever that comes with two pairs of legs. Indeed, it is strange but pretty useful for fans who are searching to stock up white leg pieces for minifigure customisation purpose. I also find the torso design to be quite refreshing with the Hawaiian fitting and it add some colour vibrant into the background as well. Unfortunately, there is no back printing for the torso. I am wearing my pants now Howdy everyone Say 'cheese' My other twin brother Finally found my pants! 14) The dangerous Wiley Fusebot I have absolute no idea of how Wiley Fusebot come about, and the closest that I could guess is Wile E. Coyote cartoon character. It might be close but this is just a rough guess, since the other two minifigures designs are somehow related to something else that we are familiar with. Wiley Fusebot is a robotic cyborg like the rest and he appear to specialise in explosives and pyrotechnics. Still, he make a fine addition in the outback settings or hunter of some sort. This make probable sense since he might just be hunting Emmet and Wyldstyle. Parts assortment The parts assortment is very good especially the inclusion of the revolver and dynamite. I like his head piece very much and the amount of details is shown clearly at the side view and back view which include back printing. You can see the amount of details present in this minifigure design. A refreshing look Are you a zombie? I have explosives with me 15) The cute Panda Guy This little fellow is widely regarded as the cute Panda Guy and is now officially to be my most favourite minifigure in this series. First of all, this is a panda in minifigure scale and it is too cute to resist. I am very curious to find out what kind of hopefully angelic role that the panda guy will act in the LEGO Movie. For now, let's welcome the sixth furry outfit in the LEGO Universe. Parts assortment The parts assortment is good and my favourite part is the Panda soft toy. At first, I am wondering if this panda guy will be merely filled up as a real panda sizing instead of a minifigure fitting in there. True enough, you can see the hardworking panda guy ready to don his panda suit. Just look at his panda adorable eyes, and the sheer amount of pandy details from the side view and back view including the zip presence. Uniting them together The furry animals Latest city news highlights My favourite animal character 16) The beautiful Marsha Queen of the Mermaids Hurrah, for LEGO Mermaid lovers. Yes, we are getting a new mermaid variation. The last time we had one was back in Series 9, Mermaid. Apparently, this mermaid is regarded as Marsha, Queen of the Mermaids, which mean she is one of the highest ranking individual, along with Series 7, Ocean King that control the seas creatures in their underwater empire. It is really very nice to see some different LEGO Mermaid designs in their original form. Parts assortment The parts assortment is pretty good. The LEGO mermaid design is done in an excellent manner especially on the front and the side as well. It is also good to see a pink gem and white calm which both are useful accessories for using in other building purpose. Her hairstyle contain a purple starfish print to increase the level of details. It means I will have 28 remaining random spares left. Read down to find out what are the remaining spares I have. Buying one full complete MISB box will allow you to achieve two maximum complete unique sets. I believe this is the new distribution which is being considered for a full box of 30 since TLG is intending to market the LEGO CMFs series with effect of the not quite recent LEGO CMFs Series 9 to be sold in a box of 30 and 60 to market and reach out to new and different group of consumers. Therefore, if you are buying a box of 30, you will definitely be given a full complete set, while a box of 60 will certainly give you two complete sets. This is probably for the first time ever in the LEGO Minifigures Collectable history that there is no specific army building minifigures unlike previous LEGO CMFs Series. All of these current 16 minifigures designs are mostly specific characters tied into the upcoming LEGO Movie. The main lead actors and actress such as Emmet, Wyldstyle, President Business, Abraham Lincoln and William Shakespeare are such good examples, where you don't need an army of it. In addition, other characters are pretty quite generic and largely revolved around the LEGO City settings and the closest army building minifigure and yet generic looking is probably the Scribble-Face Bad Cop. With the constant release of LEGO Police in the LEGO City Theme, I don't really think the Scribble-Face Bad Cop will be hardly sought for especially when there are six of the same designs present in a sealed box. Other minifigures designs such as the Panda will be also well looked out for and it is really great to know that he is also in the six of the same design distribution, while Larry the Barista, Abraham Lincoln and some others are in the four of the same design distribution which will not cause a huge panic to locate it. I foresee that the Marsha Queen of the Mermaids will be one of the hardest to locate especially since this design is in the two of the same design distribution. Overall, I am pretty pleased with the way in how the LEGO Minifigures – The LEGO Movie Series distribution listing. What do you guys think about this round of distribution? This is the very first time all 16 minifigures are being released and grouped under one single selling theme and in this case, it is all about marketing and promoting the upcoming LEGO Movie next year. This release also allow us to see the highest numbers of LEGO female minifigures in a single series. There are actually a total of six female minifigures in The LEGO Movie Series and this clearly show a gradual increase of more female counterparts. Many thanks for the hardwork of the TLG Minifigures Team to carry out much research and design work for these designing concepts. Your dedication has paid off indeed as this series continue to live up to expectations. Now with a total of 192 minifigures released for the entire Series 1 to 11 and the current LEGO Movie Series, not including Mr.Gold which unfortunately I do not have the blessings to own it and the recent acquired Toy Soldier that can only be obtained through The Minifigures Character Encylopedia. I have decided not to take the super big traditional group photo, is mainly largely attributed to the fact that this series is considered as LEGO CMFs Series 12. Therefore, I have reviewed this entirely and reflect it as an individual series under the minifigures umbrella. This entire theme had evolved and transformed to a brand new endless dimension which I strongly believe will continue to marvel all of us with their future releases. With this LEGO Movie Series releasing soon, I am still very unsure and uncertain of the next subsequent series, even though it is rumoured to be of a certain licensed theme. Well, we shall see in the next few months after the launch of the LEGO Movie itself. Meanwhile, let's enjoy these wonderful new minifigures designs. Please note that the The LEGO Movie Series do not contain the placement of LEGO spare parts/accessories. This was practiced since the start of LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 3.   3. Hello everyone, When the rumoured news of the LEGO Simpsons is going to hit into the hearts of the LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series, there are two exact opposite group of LEGO fans. Either they love this new design concept or totally felt this new design concept is complete irrelevant with the LEGO Theme. This is just the rough sentiments of LEGO fans late last year. Recently, with the new launch of the 71006: The Simpsons House near to the start of 2014. It has definitely proved very welcoming for many LEGO fans and AFOLs wanting to see this happening in the world of LEGO Collectable Minifigures Universe. No one knows how these will end up to be, until the release and upload of official photos by TLG. This is a moment of truth where you will discover the magical new series and experience in this review. Please pardon my lack of strong knowledge of The Simpsons if I had fail to mention or identify critical components relating to the design. I also rely heavily on The Simpsons Wiki Resources (thank you!). Before I continue this review in proper, I will like to give my very most sincere thank you and gratitude to The LEGO Group (TLG) for continuing to facilitate and giving me this very exclusive rare opportunity to access to this 'early' insight before many others, so I could have adequate spare time to work, evaluate and review this absolute newly LEGO Minifigures – The LEGO Simpsons Series. It is associated closely with the overall opening sequence of the animated sitcom. It also show the repetitive clouds at the background with familiar details. [Reference 1] [Reference 2] [Reference 3] What could possibly contain within these mysterious sealed packets? This is the most incredible detailed new LEGO Simpsons minifigures ever released The LEGO Minifigures – The LEGO Simpsons Series is slated for worldwide release on the 1st May 2014 or 1st June 2014. This complete new series has also taken on a new LEGO Theme name, and it will be regarded as 'The LEGO Minifigures' (MFs) instead of the traditional name known as 'The LEGO Collectable Minifigures' (CMFs). This is used in conjunction with the LEGO Movie Series which was released in the beginning of 2014. The LEGO Simpsons Series is based on the very popular and timeless American adult animated sitcom in the 1980s, known as The Simpsons. It is originally created by Matt Groening. The series is a satirical parody of a middle class American lifestyle epitomized by its family of the same name, which consists of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie. The show is set in the fictional town of Springfield and parodies American culture, society, television, and many aspects of the human condition. This new release has opened a brand new dimension of LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series (LEGO CMFs) and it is true that the new marketing outreach has successfully attracted new LEGO fans through popular existing characters or series which we are mostly familiar with. It is most likely that the LEGO CMFs is taking a short break and who knows, we may also see its return in the near future, like in 2015, for example. Only time will tell if my guess is right. Meanwhile, let's focus and see if the LEGO MFs design team is able to amaze us with many surprises and treats like they always did for previous LEGO CMFs series. Please do note that the naming that I have use for this review are official TLG minifigures naming for LEGO Minifigures – The LEGO Simpsons Series. So, there is absolute no doubt or misinterpretation on the naming used. Front view comparison with the LEGO Minifigures – The LEGO Simpsons Series packet and together with all available LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 1 to 11 and LEGO Movie packets By placing all of these packets altogether, you could see a distinct correlation of how it has evolved from LEGO CMFs Series 1 to the very new LEGO Simpsons Series. You could also notice the distinct differences from one another especially on the top right hand corner where it now only state 'The Simpsons' instead of the series number or 16 to collect. The rest of the packaging location is pretty standardised with one another. Take a closer look at these. This is the front view of the LEGO Minifigures – The LEGO Simpsons Series packet, while this shows the back view of it. Last but not least, this is an image that shows the back view comparison for all of these packets. I am going to repeat this very 'same' golden rule, likewise in all of my previous reviews. If you are intending to narrow the precious and hard-to-find minifigures that you are bending to collect, please continue to hone the touch and feel method. It is an useful skill set to acquire and locate the minifigures that you want without wasting additional money to randomly acquire them especially when you are intending to buy large quantities. Your sole mission is to memorise and remember the minifigures assortments for each of the specialised designs. Isolate and identify the most unique accessory or accessories that appeared for the particular minifigure. From there, eliminate the torso, head and legs away and feel for other parts. The only disadvantage of this method is much idle time will be most likely wasted if the minifigures that you are seeking for does not exist in the box or ending up having sore numb thumbs after feeling. However, I personally feel that this approach is the most practical that works the best for me than any other uncommon approaches. He is the first in line to be introduced into this series. He is just your regular and typical lazy person that sit like a potato couch holding his television remote control and munching away with his donuts. Everything about him is just simply 'Homer' and I am very with the amount of high details and attention is given to this character design. This is his original outfit when he is at home or elsewhere other than his working attire. Homer Simpson is the main protagonist. He is the father of the Simpson family. He is an overweight, lazy and ignorant individual, but is strongly devoted to his wife and children. Despite this and his below average intelligence, Homer has shown moments of great intellect, and can be a caring parent and husband at times. He works as a low level safety inspector at the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant, in Sector 7G. He is often incompetent and mostly sleeps and eat on duty. He spends a great deal of his time at Moe's Tavern with his lifelong friends Barney, Carl, Lenny, and bartender Moe. Parts assortment The parts assortment is amazing and I love the very fact that Homer comes with printed parts containing the remote control and donut. I am not going back to work... Watching Space Avengers My favourite Sci-Fi TV series! 2) Presenting Bart Simpson Next, we will be seeing the mischievous and chaotic fellow, known as Bart Simpson. He is one of the main characters in the Simpsons family and he will do anything to disturb your long desired peace. Even though he look just like your regular growing teenager, but he will always have something up in his sleeve. Bart is a self-proclaimed underachiever who is constantly in detention. He is easily distracted. His penchant for shocking people began before he was born. Bart's interests include Krusty the Clown, reading comic books, watching The Krusty the Clown Show, terrorising Lisa, playing video games and pulling off various pranks. Bart also sprays graffiti under the alias 'El Barto', and regularly frequents the Kwik-E-Mart and The Android's Dungeon. Parts assortment The part assortment is decent especially with the inclusion of the new designed skateboard which is exclusive for Bart's usage. The nice part about his minifigure design is that the printed body parts are combined together to form the catapult which is placed hidden at his back. You can also take a moment to see the side view of his half-sleeve red T-shirt design and back view. I believe his torso design is the same as the 71006 minifigure design. Check out that new kid on the block Some of the different designs of LEGO Skateboards in the CMFs Series Good switch for the body parts 3) Presenting Marge Simpson Our dear Marge Simpson, wife of Homer Simpson. She is a beautiful happy housewife and full-time mother of the Simpson family. She is the moralistic force in the family and often provides a grounding voice in the midst of her family's antics by trying to maintain order in the household. Aside from her core duties at home, Marge has flirted briefly with a number of careers ranging from police officer to anti-violence activist. Parts assortment The parts assortment for Marge Simpson is very good especially with the introduction of printed donut fancy tile and stylish handbag. I will love to equip it with other LEGO City minifigures for such accessories. Her hairpiece reveal a hole at the top of the hairpiece, but none of the hair accessory can fit in. You can view the fantastic details from the side view and back view. Her minifigure design is different from her housewife torso outfit in the 71006: The Simpsons House. Can anyone of you help me to buy a box of donuts? Now it's Marge's time to shine! 4) Presenting Lisa Simpson The next in the family is Lisa Simpson. She is a charismatic eight-year-old girl, who exceeds the standard achievement of intelligence level of children her age. Not to everyone's surprise, she is also the moral centre of her family. In her upbringing, Lisa lacks parental involvement of Homer and Marge, which leads to hobbies such as playing saxophone and guitar, riding and caring for horses, and interest in advanced studies. In school, Lisa's popularity is affected by those who view her as a geeky overachiever, which leaves her with only a few friends. Lisa Simpson is a smart, witty, independent girl who focuses on her goals and strives to reach her potential. Parts assortment The parts assortment is quite average. Other than the skirt cloth, the saxophone design is the one similar to the earlier version but with different colour coating. You can view more of her design details from her side view and back view. I believe her torso design is the same as the 71006 minifigure design. Brother and Sister Blue Brothers new addition Good usage of body parts 5) Presenting Maggie Simpson Now, we are going to introduce Maggie Simpson. She is the youngest child of Marge and Homer, and very pretty baby sister to Bart and Lisa. She is often seen sucking on her pacifier, and, when she walks, she trips over her clothing and falls on her face. Because she rarely ever talks, Maggie is the least seen and heard in the Simpson family. Parts assortment The parts assortment is pretty good, especially the inclusion of the new torso design which create an infant or baby design. It is a brand new design and is pretty much similar like a toddler. I will love to use this part to create more toddlers in many families in LEGO City. Her torso is the same as the 71006: The Simpsons House. Shall we get them? Four in a row What is going on? A happy family 6) Presenting Grampa Simpson To finish the last of the Simpsons Family members, we are going to present to you, Grampa Simpson, or simply as "Grampa". He is the patriarch of the Simpson family, father-in-law of Marge, the father of Homer and the grandfather of Bart, Lisa and Maggie. His real name is actually Abraham Simpson. He is a World War II veteran who was later sent to the Springfield Retirement Castle by Homer. He is known for his long, rambling, and often inaccurate stories and general incompetence. Parts assortment The parts assortment is pretty neat especially the inclusion of a new design for the newspaper printed tile. I am not familiar with the news headlines of and I had to rely on Google to tell me more about it. Apparently, the "Old Man Yells at Cloud" is about Grampa falls in love with Zelda, an old woman who has just moved in to the senior home in which Grampa lives. It is something along that line. You can notice the details of the old wrinkles and attire from his side view and back view. Great to have some company Good switch of the body parts 7) Presenting Ned Flanders Our dear Ned Flanders is the Simpson family's extremely religious next "diddly-door" neighbor. He is a genuinely well-meaning good-natured person. Though firmly religious, he can be timid and something of an easy pushover. He thoroughly worships God and strictly follows the Bible as literally as possible and is easily shocked when challenged on any point of dogma. He also owns the Leftorium and a home business, Flancrest Enterprises, which makes religious hook rugs. He also works as a member of the Springfield Volunteer Fire Department. Parts assortment The parts assortment is decent and it also include printed tool box and mug which is customised for Ned Flanders. I can be nice and tough! 8) Presenting Krusty the Clown Now we are in the entertainment spotlight, I will like to present Krusty the Clown. He is the typical cynical, burnt-out, addiction-riddled smoking clown host of Bart, Lisa and Maggie favourite TV show - The Krusty the Clown Show. Parts assortment The parts assortment is rather average. It only come with a different flavour cream pie. The unique and accurate feature is the headpiece of his distinct clown hair style. It is made up of hard ABS plastic. His looks kind of give me that creepy feeling though. You can view more of the details through the side view and back view. Come on, don't you want to have some cream pie? Clowns Entertainment Good switch of body parts 9) Presenting Milhouse Van Houten I am very pleased to present Bard's best friend, Milhouse Van Houten. His most distinctive physical traits are his extreme near-sightedness, requiring thick glasses to correct, and a huge nose that is about the size of a softball. Despite being believed to be a nerd, Milhouse has average intelligence yet has very poor social skills. He is also very gullible, thus he is constantly led into trouble by the mischievous Bart, who is not shy about taking advantage of his naive, trusting and loyal friend. Parts assortment The parts assortment is not too bad and it is a welcoming treat for Simpsons fan to be able to obtain the printed tile which feature Biclops comic book of a superhero wearing thick glasses similar to Milhouse. When I grow up and look back Years later... 10) Presenting Ralph Wiggum Let me introduce Ralph Wiggum. He is a student who attends Springfield Elementary School. He is best known as the town's resident oddball, and has been immortalized for his non sequiturs and erratic behavior. His lines range from purely nonsensical, or bizarre interpretations of a current event, to surprisingly profound statements that go over people's heads. For this, Ralph is somewhat of an outcast among his peers, although he seems to be on good terms with a fair number of the other kids at school, such as Bart and Lisa Simpson and Milhouse. Parts assortment The parts assortment is good and it is a treat for Simpsons fan again to be able to obtain printed tile of "I Choo Choo Choose You". It is pretty nice to see Ralph focusing on expressing his love for Lisa in this episode. Can I ask you to be my date? Shall we exchange? What are you dreaming of? 11) Presenting Apu Nahasapeemapetilon Let's take a moment to welcome Apu Nahasapeemapetilon. In most cases, he will just liked to be called Apu. He is the operator of the Kwik-E-Mart similar to our real world 24/7 (7-Eleven) convenience stores. He is generally polite towards his customers, always saying thank you. However, he has had some negative traits, sometimes manipulating customers into buying things they don't really need. He has a bit of a paranoid nature, as evidenced by his once jumping behind a counter and then shouting threats to Bart and Lisa who were walking in to investigate a robbery that Krusty was framed for, and at least twice went up to the roof and started shooting his rifle at potential customers. Parts assortment The parts assortment is pretty good especially when we now have the chance to own the famous "Squishee Drink". Beverage Sales 12) Presenting Nelson Muntz This fellow, Nelson Muntz, is the main bully and main antagonist of the series. Nelson is the leader of the bullies at Springfield Elementary School. He is often seen independently of the other bullies, and is Bart Simpson's former arch-enemy. He is still currently study at 4th grade which is most likely suggest that he is repeating his studies for a couple of years. Parts assortment The parts assortment is average and it does not come with great accessory other than a slightly different baseball bat that he used to beat people up. This is the most ever popular Itchy! Itchy is a cartoon mouse from Itchy & Scratchy programme within The Simpsons animated sitcom. His enemy is Scratchy which you will have a chance to see him shortly. He usually always wins against Scratchy in their fights and usually ends up killing him. There is only one known episode where Scratchy wins and Itchy is killed. Parts assortment The parts assortment is average as it only come with a typical club but the nicest thing about this character is, you will be able to obtain the very first mouse cartoon character in LEGO form. I love mouse very much for some personal reason and it is pleasing to see it in LEGO minifigure size. Itchy has the same height like Yoda, which utilise the short legs. More of the stunning features can be seen in his side view and back view. We are best friends I am here for real Wanna wrestle? 14) Presenting Scratchy Now, let me introduce Itchy's partner and it is none other than Scratchy. Scratchy is a cartoon cat from the show Itchy & Scratchy, an obvious parody of Tom and Jerry. His enemy is Itchy, a mouse. In almost every episode, Scratchy is brutally hurt and sometimes killed by Itchy. Parts assortment The parts assortment is not too bad as it only come with a typical slightly different wooden axe which I will illustrate below. The beautiful thing about this character is, you will be able to obtain the very first tail accessory that can be equipped at the minifigures leg and this is an epic improvement instead of just drawing a tail at the minifigure's torso back. Even though the cat may not look too overly friendly, but this is the first LEGO cat cartoon character to be released in LEGO format. Two different types of wooden axes The Itchy & Scratchy Show Let's finish this off Newcomers for the mascots 15) Presenting Chief Wiggum Now, we are looking at the law enforcement department in Springfield. Our Chief Wiggum is the head of police of the Springfield Police Department. He is an extreme stereotype of a lazy police officer (copper). Chief Wiggum is morbidly obese, straightforwardly indecent, ignorant, incompetent, and really lazy, with a fondness for doughnuts. While he pretentiously feigns authority, he has little regard for individual rights or even public safety. He is disturbingly uninformed and flaunts his power, albeit with good intentions most of the time. Parts assortment The parts assortment is average and I am quite surprised to see Chief Wiggum not holding a revolver. Instead, he is given a baton and a slightly different variation of a loud hailer. Practically, you don't need a huge army of Homer or Bart, other than separate the parts into different usage for your LEGO collection. I also felt that the highest distribution ratio is given to the Simpsons Family, as they are considered the most iconic and highly sought for minifigures when they are looking for the main characters to complete. While, giving much smaller characters a lesser ratio of 3 per box. All in all, I think they did an excellent job in this distribution allocation. Kudo to you guys! The time and effort to invest and create the whole LEGO Simpsons Minifigures right from the scratch is indeed an incredible feat, especially the drawings to render and create the Simpsons facial designs that is very iconic and true to the original homage. Although I am not a full pledged Simpsons fan, but through the release of these minifigures, I have learnt to appreciate them very much which make me felt pretty positive towards this entire new approach. On a very positive note, I totally enjoy the different forms of integration throughout my different LEGO Themes in my collection, to re-create in their theme settings in Simpsons style. I will like to point out, and I am very sure I am not blind. The quality of the LEGO Simpsons Series is certainly made up of high quality ABS plastic which we are very familiar with. It is not the same design quality or the same production line that was done for all previous LEGO CMFs. I do not see any marked indent at the armpit of the minifigures which we will normally associate the production to somewhere in Mainland China. Unless, of course, TLG may have removed such identification. I strongly believe that the entire production line for the LEGO Simpsons has improved, even though at the back of the packaging state the components is made in Mainland China, while the main bulk of it is manufactured in Billund, Denmark. I do believe the components which they are referring to, is most likely to be the head design of the iconic and unique LEGO Simpsons head pieces. Now with a total of 208 minifigures released for the entire Series 1 to 11, the recent LEGO Movie Series and the current LEGO Simpsons Series, not including Mr. Gold which unfortunately I do not have the blessings to own it and the recent acquired Toy Soldier that can only be obtained through The Minifigures Character Encylopedia. I have reviewed this entirely and present it as an individual iconic series under the minifigures umbrella. This entire theme had truly evolved and transformed to a brand new endless dimension which I strongly believe will continue to marvel all of us with their future releases. With this LEGO Simpsons Series releasing soon, I really wonder if we can catch up with this fast and furious releases that TLG is putting out in the market. Time will tell. We will know what will be the next new exciting LEGO Minifigures Series that will be coming to our way in a matter of next few months. And yet it looks like an extraordinary series - it's gonna be the first licensed CMF line ever, based on a widely-popular cartoon, and after 11 regular series (TLM series is an exception to me, something like Team GB series) we were used to looks very unsual and promising, regarding the future of this theme. However, there's not much going on in the discussion thread, and even the guessing game is missing. I'm really excited about this series, soooo... Let's fix it and try to foresee what minifigs will appear in this line! Attention - this is not a "Minifigures you would like to see" kind of thread. Be rational, thus no obscure guesses. With TLG experimenting licenses with Collectable Minifgures with the Simpsons, using creating more special series like the Olympics and LEGO Movie, and the rumour of a Marvel Collectable Minifigure series months ago, what characters do you think would fit into a Marvel or DC CMF series? To me, they would have to be appealing but limited in terms of use or restricted to a certain scene of a film or setting, so that more mainstream characters can be saved for the larger sets. Hello everyone, Many of you have been highly anticipated of this elusive eleventh series and only until recently in mid-July where the Internet have seen picture leaks and distribution in Poland of this LEGO Collectable Minifigure Series 11. I am sure many of you are anticipating and wondering if this traditional pictorial review will ever come and I am extremely glad to be able to deliver once more to share this iconic reviewing traditional feature of my favourite LEGO Collectable Minifigures right here exclusively in Eurobricks. In the not too far distant past, The LEGO Group (TLG) had just recently released Series 9 in just six months ago and Series 9 is now slated for 'retiring soon' and 'sold out' in the Shop@Home/US. Series 10 is still currently available but I am sure with the new Series 11 coming to the stores worldwide, it is only a matter of time before Series 10 face the same fate as Series 11. LEGO fans will have to act fast before you miss the LEGO Collectable Minifigures craze. Firstly and always, I will like to give my very most sincere continued thank you and gratitude to TLG for giving me this very exclusive 'early' insight before others, so I could have enough spare time to work, evaluate and review this brand new LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series. I will also like to give my thanks to Eurobricks Staff/LEGO Ambassador, CopMike and my fellow Eurobricks Staffers for being so helpful and supportive to this reviewing endeavour. Last but not least, the most important person which I must thank, is my beloved wife, Kim/Belun for being very understanding and supportive throughout this chaotic and hectic period of ours! I am almost saddened if I can't release this review at the given releasing date especially since so many things are happening all at one go. I am truly glad that I am able to see the end of rainbow and able to share this reviewing achievement with everyone once more. As always, we shall do a re-cap for all of the past Eurobricks Collectable Minifigures polls once more. It started with a humble beginning of Series 1 followed by Series 2 in the year 2010 and it continue to spread like wildfire with another 3 strong waves of minifigures craze in the year 2011, putting Series 3, Series 4 and Series 5 in an excellent harvesting year. In the year 2012, we celebrated with Series 6, Series 7 and recent Series 8. With the beginning of the year 2013, we have the recent Series 9 and Series 10. [Reference 1] [Reference 2] [Reference 3] The 11 different colour packaging themes for Series 1 to 11 boxes The amount of efforts to retrieve all of these boxes from my storage area is pretty hard and I hardly have the desire to keep empty boxes in its original state since storage space is a scarce resource to me. Putting them together is just always an amazing feat and all of these boxes have actually exceeded the studio background height. However, it is definitely worth it to place all of the 11 LEGO Collectable Minifigures boxes together for this superb unique group photo which is a sight to behold to witness the different colour transition for the different series. What could possibly contain within these mysterious sealed packets? This is the next new incredible Eleventh Series for the legendary LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series Theme The LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series (CMFs) is slated for worldwide release on the 1st August 2013 or 1st September 2013. This is another outstanding piece of achievement for this very special LEGO theme, where it has successfully released a total of three series in the year of 2013. The TLG CMFs design team has certainly outdo themselves by able to amaze and marvel us with so many more new integrative and unique minifigures' designs. I am sure most of us have not taken aback by the recent maniacal craze of hunting Series 10 - Mr. Gold? Despite of the Mr. Gold craze, the LEGO CMFs theme remain a force not to be reckon with and continue to stand proud which shall remain as one of the popular themes to acquire for many LEGO fans out there. I will leave to our fans to decide for themselves if Series 11 continue to live up to the high expectations. To me, this series remain a huge importance in the LEGO history and affirming my belief that all of these minifigures in the past, present and future series will continue to be regarded as part of the 'Golden Age' for the LEGO CMFs theme. Please do note that the naming that I have use for this review are official TLG minifigures naming for Series 11. So, there is absolute no doubt or misinterpretation on the naming used. Front view comparison between Series 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 packets Wow, just plain wow! Isn't it amazing when all of the packets for the entire series are placed together for a group photo? This is just so magical to see the entire different packets for Series 1 to 11. There are altogether 11 different packets and design packagings for this single theme since the birth of the LEGO CMFs. Many of the earlier series such as 1 and 2 are considered to be pretty vintage at this point of release since the access to acquire these older series are considered to be a hefty challenge for forking out more money to purchase them in the secondary market since they are released in lesser quantities unlike those more recent released series. Just take any of this packet and open it. If you can just hold all of the 11 packets in your hand based on the above illustrated image. Rip it open and you discover a random LEGO minifigure that can be special to the person who is buying it. Be it for the parents, children, AFOLs, casual shoppers, there is always a random something for everyone of us and I guess this is an easy way to bring back a person who is in the dark ages by tempting them to open up these packets! To add on, I actually got a bin of unopened packets which I have not marked them with, even though I am sure the minifigures which I have bought are the ones I like. It is just that it is still quite a random feeling for me not to find out what it is in there, without the touch and feel method. Take a closer look at these. This is the front view of the Series 11 packet, while this shows the back view of it. Last but not least, this is an image that shows the back view comparison of all packets. I am going to repeat this very same golden rule, likewise in all of my previous reviews. If you are intending to narrow the precious and scarce minifigures that you are collecting, please continue to hone the touch and feel method. It is an useful skill set to acquire and locate the minifigures that you want without wasting additional money to randomly acquire them especially when you are intending to buy large quantities. Your sole mission is to memorise and remember the minifigures assortments for each of the specialised designs. Isolate and identify the most unique accessory or accessories that appeared for the particular minifigure. From there, eliminate the torso, head and legs away and feel for other parts. The only disadvantage of this method is much idle time will be most likely wasted if the minifigures that you are seeking for does not exist in the box or ending up having sore numb thumbs after feeling. However, I personally feel that this approach is the most practical that works the best for me than any other uncommon approaches. Front view of the Minifigs Series 11 promotional leaflet Back view of the Minifigs Series 11 promotional leaflet 1) The savage Barbarian The savage barbarian can be regarded as a person who is perceived to be uncivilised, rude, wild, unrestrained and insensitive. More importantly, the barbarian is also known for its feat brute strength that could certainly overwhelmed its opponents in relative ease. The immense fierce appearance of his, is very taunting especially with the remaining battle scars that etched deep into his skin. Even though his appearance may not be as gallant as a shiny knight but his quest for freedom and brotherhood continue to be strongly desired. I could have make it up but the barbarian is someone who I will like to form a tribe of warriors or even mercenaries awaiting at the tavern to accept any dangerous and highly paid quests. Parts assortment The parts assortment is decent and I am glad to see two sharp gladius swords that allow him to master duo swordsmanship which clearly demonstrate his strong offensive approach. There are two different prints on his either side view. The first image show the wrap on his wrist while the second image show the wrist guard or similar on his other hand. I am also very pleased to note the side prints of his legs which add some fair details in it. There is also back printing at the back of the Barbarian. The hairpiece also reminded me of the character, Prince Dastan in the Prince of Persia movie which is a fine hairpiece to use it for many other scenarios. Aren't we look quite similar to one another? Fighting for my freedom Ferocious Warriors 2) The stoic Scarecrow The stoic scarecrow may look unglamorous but in actual fact, the scarecrow's main intention is to act as a decoy or mannequin which resemble in the form of human being wearing in old tattered clothings. It is placed and positioned in the midst of the crop fields to discourage the presence of birds such as crows or sparrows to disrupt the growing of crops. Basically, the Scarecrow is meant to scare these birds away. It is not the same type as the DC Batman Comic villain, 'Scarecrow'. For my take, I am extremely happy to see a scarecrow looking character appearing which is geared towards the LEGO Farm theme. I will probably welcome a fleet of these scarecrows to be ready for placing in the crop fields. Parts assortment The parts assortment is excellent. You are able to notice that the straw hat and the crow are some of the appealing factor and it is probably good news for some fans that the two parts can be separated from one another which will allow them to use the black crow as another fine piece of animal and the straw hat as an useful new head-ware. From this angle, you are able to take a closer look at the scarecrow Furthermore, I am most welcomed with the inclusion of the uncommon pitchfork accessory which was recently re-introduced back as reddish brown colour unlike the old Classic Castle brown appearance. Till this date, there are a total of 17 sets which contain a pitchfork. You will also notice that there are some detailed side printing on this side and the other side which both reflect different prints at the sleeve. Not to miss out, that there is a back printing as well. This is indeed a fine designed minifigure in this series. The body of the Scarecrow My crops will be safe from crows 3) The festive Bavarian Lady I supposed this festive looking lady is originally from Bavaria which is located in south east of Germany. Her attire is a type of traditional dress, known as Dirndl. Pardon for my lack of knowledge in this area, as I have only commonly seen this attire in Germany where many young women are seen wearing during the period of Oktoberfest in Munich. Nonetheless, this is a very lovely and bubbly female minifigure with its slight freckled wide grin smile. I will definitely like to use her as a medieval villager since her outfit is rather suited in that era. Parts assortment I really wish to see her holding a mug of beer, but perhaps it is not recommended to be seen at her hand since TLG's general target audience is the children. Her hairpiece is a new lovely ponytail design and you can enjoy the beautiful sight right from her back. The green and white apron is made up of cloth piece which is similar to the past recent cloth skirt pieces like the Series 8, Fairy. The pretzel is still a nice repetitive accessory which is first seen with the Series 8, Lederhosen Guy. Will you like to have some delicious pretzels? Forest Friends 4) The nasty Evil Mech Evil space villains welcomed a new addition into the space family and able to match up with the first Series 9, Battle Mech. This nasty looking evil mech is more cold looking and it is randomly rumoured to be associated with the Classic Space villain, Blacktron. It does not look friendly and certainly pose a threat to many others. Parts assortment The parts assortment is decent and even though I am really glad that this Evil Mech come with a space weapon but I did not expect to see a loud hailer and a illuminate green cone to form the space blaster. I am more hoping to see a complete new design of the weapon to increase the space weaponry assortment. After you have removed the Evil Mech's helmet off, you will be able to notice the green looking robotic head with all of the laser targeting markings and range on the visual lens. There are nice detailed printing which can be found at the side, while at the back revealed his large jet-pack that enable him to manoeuvre freely above ground. Taking the Evil Mech's armour off Space Rivals Space Factions 5) The fearsome Tiki Warrior The fearsome looking Tiki Warrior is my favourite character of the lot, simply because it re-introduce the presence of Classic Pirates, Islanders. It is also a magnificent design of a total re-creation of this defender of its native tribe which will be seen in some illustrative images below. I could see this character being very popular among Castle and Pirates fans, and more importantly you will soon be able to understand the key reason of its popular artificial demand. Parts assortment The parts assortment is very good and if I will like to improve it further, I will certainly like to see an inclusion of a newly designed shield. The giant face mask is made up of soft-medium rubber material and the paint detail is excellent. Not only to mention that they have re-introduced the Islander's hairstyle. You will be able to observe greater details from the side view. You are my protector Meet the Tribal Warriors Tribal Warriors lining up A little modification to the Tiki Warrior Protect our villagers from danger 6) The yummy Gingerbread Man This minifigure will certainly make lots of people smile, and I myself included. The yummy Gingerbread Man is a very delicious biscuit or cookie which is baked for special festive occasions.It even have its own fairytale story. I will be very most tempted to dip it into a glass of milk, but fortunately this is inedible and it will probably be good to leave it intact. Parts assortment The parts assortment is pretty neat and the design to create the Gingerbread Man is amazing. It has the height of the regular LEGO minifigure and yet it has a very unique body constitution which can be seen from the side and the back. The headpiece is a flat circular structure which enable him to lie just flat on the oven stove for baking. The colourings of the facial exp<b></b>ressions, buttons and legs are equally impressive. To be honest, I can't find much flaw in this design and I think this is one of the nice design in this new series. The red mug with the print, 'Dunk Me' is equally great and such mug designs are always much preferred than just mono looking ones. Dunk Me! Don't eat me LEGO Fairytales 7) The festive Holiday Elf Holiday Elf are great helpers to Santa Clause. Because without their hardwork, children from all over the world will not have Christmas presents. Therefore, this festive dwarf-looking Elf is on a mission to pack and wrap presents for Santa Clause and it is definitely a nice minifigure to add into the seasonal characters together for celebration. Parts assortment The parts assortment is nice especially with the 2x2 printed gift wrap tile which proved to be versatile for many other building purposes. A different teddy bear colour shade is also nice to be included with this minifigure as it created more gift variations. As you can see from the side and the back, you will notice that the elvish ears are attached to the green hat. Christmas Gifts Where shall I wrap you in? Working very hard for Christmas 8) The elusive Yeti The elusive Yeti or commonly known as the Abominable Snowman may not be a myth afterall especially since the TLG designers have managed to capture such cute lovely looking Yeti instead. When I first see the possibility of this character appearing, I wondered how it will look like. To my expectations, the Yeti is unbelievably adorable which could be inappropriate for some and since this is also not a costume minifigure, then I believe the usage of it as a practical joke will be rather real to our LEGO minifigures. Parts assortment The parts assortment is decent and the new blue ice cream stick is welcoming. You can observe the white fur on the torso and legs and along with the brand new headpiece for the Yeti facial exp<b></b>ression. The back view reveal the different layers of furs that depict the Yeti's iconic feature. Run for our lives!!! 9) The adventurous Mountain Climber The adventurous Mountain Climber is a professional high risk taker that challenge high altitudes right to the top of the summit. Apparently, he is well-trained with his trusty equipment gear including those mountain carbines that are seen at the waist. His specialised profession is medical expertise and I trust he is able to assist others since he bear the proficiency badge that will readily available to help his team mates and others. Parts assortment The parts assortment is not too bad and the equipment of the mountain climber is pretty good too especially with the new rope that will assist him in the climbing expedition. His availability will serve useful mountaineer expeditions. Climbing up with bit by bit Fear of heights??? You will be our medic specialist 10) The industrial Welder The Welder works hard in the strenuous tough environment of many industries where welding expertise is required. Welding can be considered a dangerous specialised profession where safety has to be considered and applied at the highest personal protection level. Without those personal protection equipment in place, it will put the Welder in a vulnerable position that will compromise his safety. Parts assortment The parts assortment is good and you will be able to observe the good selection of his welding equipment that make up of the following welding components including the printed flammable 1x1 orange cylinder bottle. He also donned in his protective long sleeve jackets and heavy duty leather gloves together with his wielding helmet to protect his eyes against from high UV light. I am tired after an intense day of work Assembling the Robot together Shall we head to Jim's bar for a drink? 11) The analytical Scientist The analytical Scientist will always review the test results carefully before proceeding further, likewise with her many unknown chemical substances that are available at her disposal. She will be able to mix different chemicals together to form many different possibilities that will assist in her research. It is welcoming to see a female Scientist joining into the City civilians population. Parts assortment The parts assortment are not too bad especially when there are two new viral bottles in light blue and green chemical liquids. Her clean white outfit also match her profession well and I will also suggest to use it for other medical professions as well since their attire is relatively similar to one another. On another note, I have to take a very close look and realised that this Scientist is known as Professor C.Sodin. I could be wrong since my eyesight is getting much poorer. Therefore, it is definitely not quite regarded as a research assistant. Different sort of scientists DO exist 12) The slick Jazz Musician Aww, he looks real slick just like the Blue Brothers. His black cool outfit and his killing saxophone could just blow your mind away. I could recall fans hoping to see a Jazz Musician like himself and include him in a 'live' band for Jazz music coverage. It will definitely be a stunning sight. I am already thinking of some possible fun settings for him to perform. Parts assortment Everyone will like to zoom into the saxophone since this is one of the highly anticipated accessory in this Series. The design of the saxophone is highly detailed with its pearl gold colour. This will enhance the musical bands by placing more of such instruments into playing. As for the rest, his black attire is suitable and able to integrate as a regular City civilian Men in Black 13) The friendly Diner Waitress The friendly Diner Waitress is an iconic sight back in the United States, during the 1950s where you will be able to find them serving the dining customers at the diners by moving up and forth with the roller skates. The waitress are able to serve their orders with speed and ease through the roller skates. There are lots of balancing to be involved but firstly balancing yourself, followed by the order. Parts assortment The parts assortment is decent and the outfit certainly look pretty retro as well. You are able to see theback view of her in skates before she rolled off with the strawberry ice cream float order. As you looked closely into her uniform, you will notice that her name is called Tara and this is another fine secret teasing facts of the design team which are incorporated into the minifigure's design. The front of the LEGO Service Industry Can I be on your team? 14) The kind Grandma After seeing the first appearance of Series 10, Grandpa, I am already hoping for a Grandma to be accompanying our dear Grandpa. True enough without a long wait, the kind Grandma make its appearance into this series with many fine detailed features. I find it very heart warming to see TLG to able to create Grandparents into the LEGO family. Parts assortment Apart from the usual picnic basket, you will find a nice new animal cat that make a fine companion to Grandma and personally I find it to be well designed. You will also notice that Grandma's knitted sweater also revealed several cat's printing near its waistline. The back view also reveal Grandma's grey looking hairdo. Visiting Grandma Meow Meow and Woof Woof Both of them are still close as ever Grandparents are always such a great inspiration to our lives... 15) The dutiful Constable One look and you will know this Constable is doing his rounds in his No.1 Uniform in the United Kingdom even though it is quite uncommon for the law enforcers to be wearing this uniform in present times. It is very welcoming to see him appearing as part of the LEGO minifigures community. I am pretty fond of his moustache on his look which is deemed iconic as well. I could not find any flaws in it and the design is spot-on. Parts assortment The parts assortment is good and the baton is wonderful new accessory addition. You can see how the Constable able to grip his baton tightly at his hand. The custodian ('bobby') helmet is done in a very nice manner as well too and I am very pleased with it too. Apparently his badge indicates JCF and his collar ID number is 1337. I really wondered what does that mean. Anyone can enlighten me a little? Law Enforcers in the LEGO City and Town The iconic British characters 16) The caring Lady Robot I did not expect to see a female companion for our Series 6, Clockwork Robot and I don't really think it is necessary to create this design. It is a lovely design but I am not very fond of it and used it for other intended purposes than to place it by his side. I am sure it does appeal to fans who enjoy a good retro 1950s looking robots as a form of variation and as far as my limited memory could recall, I don't quite remember seeing a female robot version. I could be wrong. Well, to me, the Lady Robot will be my least favourite among the 16 new minifigures. Parts assortment The parts assortment is mediocre and there are no other accessory which can be held by her hand. At least, give her some equipment to hold onto, other than just empty hands. The design of the back view is the same approach as the Clockwork Robot which allow the robots to wind up its potential energy. The robotic duo Robotic Sidekicks A concluding thought for the Collectable Minifigures Series 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 Let's take a moment and view this awesome super big family group image which I have assembled for your viewing pleasure! It is getting a little less comfortable and more complicated to assemble all of these LEGO CMFs within a 48x48 grey baseplate. It will be even more challenging for me to squeeze the next new series within this fixed boundaries but I am confident that I will be able to find a solution to it when the time comes. So, what do you think and feel of this entire LEGO CMFs with everything being presented in this image? In my case, it is simply amazing with tremendous loads of excitement to see this entire LEGO CMFs theme altogether. I fully understand that some of us are feeling very exhausted and tiring to continue collecting this theme as TLG has been releasing at a very fast pace since the year 2010 and it have revamped and given a new meaning of collecting these minifigures especially when one of each of this is simply a new identity of its own where there are so many new possibilities that have been created in just a single theme that is proudly a TLG's own unique product range. I will love to see this continue and wish TLG to strive harder to actively promote this LEGO CMFs as we moved on. I hope this will continue to serve as one of the landmark themes within TLG to reach out more LEGO collectors and fans of all ages because I am very confident that there is definitely one minifigure out there in each series that you will adore most. Now with a total of 176 minifigures released for the entire Series 1 to 11, not including Mr.Gold which unfortunately I do not have the blessings to own it and the recent acquired Toy Soldier that can only be obtained through The Minifigures Character Encylopedia. It is no easy feat to be able to collect this entire theme especially when you have joined the parade much later where Series 1 and 2 are limited in numbers on a global scale. Although I have taken a long time to put these minifigures together for a new group image, but I have definitely and surely enjoy this process that is considered tremendously a lots of minifigures to be seen and is no easy feat to attain and to complete. Every time, I do this step, it is always very incredible to see how much and how far this theme had evolved to a greater magnificent transformation that formed a new pillar which formed the new blocks of LEGO products range. With Series 11 releasing soon, I am still quite unsure whether if we will see any Series 12 in the near future. I hope there is and we will be ready for the future LEGO CMFs Series. All in all, my wish is to be able to see this magical theme to continue wave after wave in every new calendar year. General Statistics for Minifigures Series 11 Below is the combination which I have received from my box, 4 Barbarians 2 Scarecrows 2 Bavarian Ladies 4 Evil Mechs 2 Tiki Warriors 4 Gingerbread Men 4 Holiday Elves 6 Yetis 6 Mountain Climbers 6 Welders 4 Scientists 2 Jazz Musicians 2 Diner Waitresses 2 Grandmas 6 Constables 4 Lady Robots Based on the above distribution, I have managed to achieve only two full complete sets of 16 one-of-a kind minifigures each. It means I will have 28 remaining random spares left. Read down to find out what are the remaining spares I have. My remaining spares 2 Barbarians 0 Scarecrows 0 Bavarian Ladies 2 Evil Mechs 0 Tiki Warriors 2 Gingerbread Men 2 Holiday Elves 4 Yetis 4 Mountain Climbers 4 Welders 2 Scientists 0 Jazz Musicians 0 Diner Waitresses 0 Grandmas 4 Constables 2 Lady Robots Data Analysis Based on the complete new data which I have complied, I have indicated my basic analysis based on my own take. Buying one full complete MISB box will allow you to achieve two maximum complete unique sets. I believe this is the new distribution which is being considered for a full box of 30 since TLG is intending to market the LEGO CMFs series with effect of the recent Series 9 to be sold in a box of 30 and 60 to market and reach out to new and different group of consumers. Therefore, if you are buying a box of 30, you will definitely be given a full complete set, while a box of 60 will certainly give you 2 complete set. On a personal note, I do not quite like the way the new distribution is being configured, not because of the given completed series for a full MISB box. I felt the allocation for the minifigures types is not quite the way I will like it to have. It is because there are not many filers minifigures under the group of six, like the Welders, Mountain Climbers and Yetis. I am not pleased to see these minifigures types to be given with a higher frequency. The only little consolation is the nice looking Constable being given the group of six treatment but still, I will prefer to see the Barbarian or the Tiki Warriors instead to be given a better distribution treatment. So far, each of the 16 unique collectable minifigures have an equal chance of getting 2 out of 32 packets, when a fresh untouched box is opened and consumers will rush in to buy it separately. That will be a 6.25% probability based only on 32 packets. When you add the remaining 28 spares into the calculation, the probability will varies further. 6 unique minifigures are now only available at 12 out of 60 packets and this translates to 20% in total and 3.33% each, which makes it very much harder than before to achieve by just doing it randomly. However, it is a great pity that the Tiki Warriors and the Scarecrows are classified as the lowest probability distribution point since there are only two each in each sealed box. The Tiki Warrior maybe classified as a potential army builder minifigure since it is closely related with the Classic Pirates, Islanders theme but I am not quite sure if it will be the most expensive minifigure in Series 11 even though it might be a very popular choice but definitely not as popular as its predecessors like the Series 2, Spartan or Series 3 Elf. There are lesser army building minifigures choices in this Series and the other likely potential ones will be the Barbarian and the rest of it will probably be good with just a few of them since this series is much inclined towards the City settings. I am neutral with the rest of the distribution and I really wish that some of the lowest probability distribution point like the Jazz Musician, Scarecrow and Grandma can be given slightly more in quantities . Overall, I am not very upset with the way in how the LEGO Collectable Minifigures distribution listing is being done but I am definitely not quite pleased about it. What do you guys think about this round of distribution? Do you share my same sentiments? Perhaps, I felt that Series 11 did not create a larger hype other than not seeing the leaks earlier, but it does not create the greater hype due to lack of 'Where is Mr.Gold?' campaign or equivalent which is first revealed in Series 10. To me, that is a good news and it avoided unnecessary distractions which caused quite an uproar in hunting Mr.Gold. In this new Series, I noticed that there are more City related designs and professions than any other playing themes. The best thing about this new Series is to be able to see the new Yeti, Gingerbread Man and Welder which are totally a new designing concept that have never been seen before. It is no easy feat to be able to work on a continuous tight schedule and able to design and deliver new LEGO Minifigures with their wonderful pool of ideas which is obtained by many inspirations. I am confident that the imagination for creativity in the TLG CMFs design team will always be strong. This is also the only single avenue where we can see many exciting new minifigures at one go that can never be achieve in the regular LEGO theme releases where stand-alone minifigure concept is not possible where the theme revolve around it. Overall, I find this series to be a little weaker than its predecessors similar to Series 8, but I am not complaining that this series is not living up to my expectations as each of these new minifigure's design will be sought for by every different LEGO fans. Please note that the LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 11 do not contain the placement of LEGO spare parts/accessories. This was practiced since the start of LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 3. Summary review Playability: 8/10 (Many more new LEGO Collectable Minifigures integration across many new and existing themes.) Design: 8.5/10 (Good detailed and limited new LEGO minifigures' parts and accessories with more endless incredible accessories like the new cat, saxophone, baton, etc.) Price: 8/10 (I believe pricing will remain the same and to me, the quality has certainly improved on overall.) Overall: 8.2/10 (Another high rating for the LEGO CMFs and it is definitely worth buying and collecting these new minifigures.) I gave it a "5" based on my Review Score Card. What about yours?   21. So now that we series 12 will include a Lincoln figure (we can debate as to why... and I don't know why I want one, but I do - maybe two or three. Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter MOC anyone?), I mused in the CMF Series 12 thread about other possible figures. It could be argued that we've already gotten some - Cleopatra and Ceaser, for two, but even though I think they might specifically be those people, they weren't officially called that, and they could very well be considered in a more generic way, and you could make a an ancient Roman MOC with that figure and easily call him someone else... could be Ceaser, could be Nero, could be anyone; or a an ancient Egyptian MOC with the Pharaoh, mummy, and Egyptian woman and just call her the "Queen." But with Lincoln, we're getting down to truly specific, instantly recognizable individuals. I wouldn't mind seeing an American history sub-theme to CMFs, but know that wouldn't really go over well. Moreover, I can only think of two other instantly recognizable figures: Washington and Benjamin Franklin (especially if given a kite as an accessory). There are other worthy people - like Thomas Jefferson, but I think such a figure would come off as too generic, and he'd just be an early American aristocrat. But I got to thinking about what other historical figures that, not just being cool to have in LEGO, but would be instantly recognizable for who they were, even if needing a little context (like Franklin's kite). So what do you think? Again, this isn't supposed to be a thread about the viability of singling out specific individuals as CMFs, just a discussion about which ones you'd think would work. Since it's "historic," I'd limit it to figures from history prior to 1950. Being American I may not know how iconic some of the other historic personalities are from around the world, so now's your chance to educate me. Again, I'm not saying they should make these, but I'm just wondering who would be instantly recognizable as the individual they are. So my list is: George Washington Benjamin Franklin Adolf Hitler I would love to say people like "Geronimo," or King Henry VIII, but I think those figures would come off as too generic. I could take any King figure and call it King Henry, or the Tribal Chieftain and call him "Geronimo." Others I would think are cool would include Ghandi, Attila the Hun, Alexander the Great... but I don't think those figures would be instantly recognizable as who they are.

    Member Random Act of Kindness

    I just wanted to take a moment to publicly thank one of our member for showing me some incredible kindness. Several weeks ago I had posted that I have enjoyed the CMF series' but that due to some financial troubles I'd likely only be able to pick up a couple of my favorites. A few days layer, a member PM me saying he'd read my post and that he wanted to send me the S11 figure of my choice. I responded that I lived in the US while he lived in the UK so shipping would be a bit. He stated he didn't care and shipped me the figure as soon as he got some, and he covered all costs including shipping. A few days ago, I received the Gingerbread Man. I was never expecting someone to go so far out of their way, and this act of kindness amazed me! I will not mention him by name for his privacy, but he knows who he is so if he doesn't mind me saying I'd be happy to recognize him by name. But in the meantime, thank you! You've reminded me of how great people can be! Edit: making mention that he covered shipping as well as the figure, making the figure cost free for me.

Out of all of the series of the popular CMF theme, which individual figs have you collected the greatest quantities of? The CMF has proven a great source for army-builders across the globe, so which figures have you bought the most multiples of? The Spartan? The Elf? The Galaxy Patrol? Aztec? Conquistador? Zombie? Flamenco Dancer???? Who??!! I invite all of you to list your Top 3 Army-Builder CMF minifigs. And I'll go first-- 1. Evil Knight, Series 7 - 19 figs 2. Revolutionary Solder, Series 10 - 18 figs 3. Evil Dwarf, Series 5 - 15 figs Obviously this is not a boasting thread to see who's spent the most money on CMFs, but rather what individual fig has been purchased the most. It'll be interesting to compare results, and potentially name the most popular army-builder fig of the entire series. Thanks!
  25. Players only, please! Margret Pines (Capt. Redblade) enjoys a nice soak in the kiddie pool. "Ah, I'm so much sexier than my dead sister." She sighs, clearly relaxed. Suddenly a man in a diving suit comes up. Only Margret can see his face, but it's rather obvious that it's the Gangster. "Frederick, is that you?!" Margret says, awestruck at how they fit in the kiddie pool. "Nope, just the Gangster" the diver replies. Margret doesn't even have time to scream. And she is harpoon'd, revealing her true identity as that of the Surfer. Juliet Williamson (CallMePie), was having a rather hard time sleeping, so she put on another wig, and ran downstairs to go get a drink. Little did she know that the Heroic Knight was behind her. "Santa?" Juliet whispers as she turns around to see the hunk of a man in front of her. "Nope. Die, vicious monster scum!" The knight says as he slices Juliet's head off... ...Revealing her true identity to be the Flamenco Dancer. Everybody is whispering to each other, discussing the events of the previous days. Balthasar Jameson has even changed into a Chicken outfit for today's story, and Eric has, once again, changed wigs. Fluffy and Mercutio are once again, wearing matching outfits. Fluffy has dragged up the body of the Alien Avenger. "Ahem. Attention everyone! As you'll notice, Margret and Juliet are not here. They were both Council. Abraham here, was also Council. What the hell was going through your heads, people?! Lynching based off of Minifigures?! Really?!" The Alien Avenger wakes up, and starts walking downstairs. "What the hell, you idiots?! You'd think I'd be able to have one decent vacation, but no. I'm always the one who gets lynched. I came here to have a fun, family occasion with the wife and kids, but that apparently was not an option here. God, I'm so sick of this." Oh, right. Here's the real body."
