[TC6] Walking Dragline
Dalafik replied to Epic Technic's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I see two flaws of your project: the video and cubic shape of the main part of the model. If you improve these aspects then you'll have chances for podium. -
Adjustable fork rake for MOC-2298: Heavy Duty Forklift
Dalafik replied to Pluto_MkII's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hi, Pluto! I'm glad to see that my model has interested you. I considered doing something similar with fork, but discarded this option, partly because it would make the mast heavier, partly because 5x11 panel fitted in so nicely. By the way, you should try LDCad, it brings easiness of LDD into LDraw world (just switch camera to spin mode instead of 3D). -
[MOC] 1965 Lincoln Continental Lowrider

Looks smooth and shiny. I especially like white interior - perfectly mimics leather. I wonder if... could you make it jump? (just kidding)- 27 replies

Technic 2015 Discussion and Speculation
Dalafik replied to ghostmind's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Maybe our dreams will come true and we will get leaf springs! But, joking aside, it is possible to build not very realistic, but fully functional suspension with 42009 tyres. Actually, I've just done it in my project. So my prediction is that we gonna get 4 ball joints, 2 of them will be used for front axles (steering) and 2 will be connected sequentially for rear axles (propulsion). I wonder if rear wheels would be doubled or not. -
Is there C model of 42030?
Dalafik replied to tmk81's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
That tug looks seriously powerful, well done! I can think of only one alternative model - a scraper. Take B-model as the basis, put the bucket in the middle and surround it with beams. It won't work as the real one, but should be playable. -
Top 14 of 2014
Dalafik replied to Thirdwigg's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Each list of a "top something" kind represents a subjective view of its compiler. The best way to determine the greatest model of this year is to make a poll. But it isn't possible to include every cool creation in the short-list, so it still will be biased. Besides, many of excellent MOCs are published in local LUGs and unknown to Eurobricks community. -
[TC6] Tow Truck
Dalafik replied to gmshades's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
You build like a hurricane. You made it within just a few days and I spent the whole month designing just one axle. One remark though. Does that rear thing (which lifts front wheels of towed vehicle) should be attached to the boom? I thought that it is connected to the chassis. But I've never seen US-style tow trucks in real life, so I might be very wrong. -
[C-MODEL] 42009 Heavy Duty Forklift

I've updated the topic with link to an LDR file (LDD refused to accept this build). -
[MOC] Sporty snow tracker

Very cool and compact model. 10 out of 10. I'd like to see a video in any quality just to know how fast it can go. -

[TC5] VOLVO SfinX CONCEPT

Agree, this idea worth more than 3-hour work (though it's very impressive what you managed to achieve for this time). -
[C-MODEL] 42009 Heavy Duty Forklift
Dalafik replied to Dalafik's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thanks to all, I'm glad that you like it. Probably not. You might be able to replace the steering with M motor, but the only way to reach the front wheels with a drive shaft is through the engine. It managed to lift a couple of big Lego wheels lying on a thick notebook (i mean paper notebook), so it is on a par with the others Technic forklifts. But, certainly, such a complex gearbox reduces its lifting capabilities. I'll try to split digital version in several parts, but I'm afraid that building the body still won't be an easy task. -
[C-MODEL] 42009 Flatbed Tow Truck
Dalafik replied to MrTekneex's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I've almost finished building my own c-model of the same set and hope to introduce it here soon. But your model, despite being of different type of vehicle, just better in every way of comparison. So much functionality and great look. Excellent work. -
[TC5] (chibi) snow groomer
Dalafik replied to jyd80's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
It's always nice to see when several mechanical functions are packed inside of such a small scaled creation. It's the true spirit of Technic. Well done!- 13 replies

[Help] - Lifting Gates
Dalafik replied to kinggregus's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
It's strange that your mechanism doesn't work as intended. Using a worm gear is the natural choice for lifting something in Technic, since it prevents lifted object from going down. Although I am not yet an expert, I see two possible reasons for your problem: you are gearing up instead of gearing down the system; your motor is not powerful enough (which one do you use?). Either way, you don't have enough torque. -
[WIP] Working Exo Suit
Dalafik replied to Zerobricks's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
The model is truly exceptional and brilliant. But it is the video direction which I liked the most. I haven't laughed so much for a long time. If there were a prize for best video cut on Eurobricks, it certainly would be yours. -

Thanks everyone for the positive feedback! I've uploaded a LXF file (there is a couple of glitches - LDD fault, not mine) and submitted the model at Rebrickable. -

I can't even imagine how much time you spent tuning it to work flawlessly! However, in the video the cart didn't make it to the place where it had started. Do you have a video where it goes full circle? -
