Free Build - Shadowpath Forest

Recommended Posts

Recently three GoH members (Myself, I Scream Clone and Frumpy) collaborated together on a build for a local Sydney show.

The left side is by I Scream Clone, the forest by myself and the right side by Frumpy.

The diorama shows a Nocturnus and Avalonian castle, separated by the "Shadowpath Forest". Location is the North west corner of Nocturnus, in the foothills of the Rakath Mountains.

Will link to more detailed photos when available.

Looks fantastic! As someone who is always looking for great works of landscape to learn from, this is wonderful! I look forward to more pictures!

Good to see you guys back at it. The castles really do match the look of their guilds, and the forest is really dense. Wonderful work all three of you.

I jus don't want to know how much time and bricks you put into that (MOC seems so small a word)

I really like the classic feel of this! Scenes like this are what make me remember my childhood Lego imaginations and want to get my bricks out and start building.

Amazing layout. Great to see once again that Nocturnus is more than swamps and lava. Can't wait to see more detail shots.

Epic collab in both size and detail  Your forest looks quite real, which isn't easy to pull off.

Can't wait for more pictures :classic:

Excellent collab! How big is it?

As a collab organizer in Swebrick I would also be interested in knowing how you coordinated the build and how the interfaces between the modules look like?

*Sprays coffee everywhere* Where did you get the parts to build THAT? Awesome collab, and I love the detailing.

It is 4x12 32 baseplates.

We collaborated via photos and FB messages. We planned a layup day but it fell through due to work committments. I built the forest edges/interfaces using photographs of the two end sections and aimed to be a plate or two below the corresponding section. Then I just took plate to add around and lock sections together.

All the plants were added on site, took 4.5 hours to place them all and build the trees :)

I really love all of this and hope that one of these days I will do a collab of this size with someone else too. However, where is the place Avalonia and Nocturnus share a border? Shouldn't Cedrica be in the way?

I may wear tights (and look good in them) but I'm not crazy - my mum had me tested...

Here is a picture of my end.

I'd be cool if it weren't for all the Avalonian-ness.
