The Deep-Core Heavy Mining Rig is one of the strongest, most powerfull mining rigs of the Power Miners. I know... another mining truck. This time my goal was to do it smaller and it was great. It has ackermann steering with a no return to system, because I preffered maneuverability for this MOC, you can see it here. We also have a tiltable bed and rear differential wheels. I used powered up for first time and I have to learn a lot but it was useful to can controlate the speed. I have the instructions with different scheme colors but this one was the most I like. The measures are 25x41x29 studs and it has 936 pieces, you can see the size compared with mine other MOCs, trucks and loaders. I did a little video and I hope you like, thank you. Mining truck

I have nothing physical but if I have the idea. I know it is no original but I like wheel loaders . I did my calculations and using new class wheels I can build a huge but simple wheel loader a komatsu wa1200, caterpillar 994 or a leturneau. They are gigants wheel loaders and the problem I had is that their wheels are so huge that in proportion the body it had to be so tight that I could´t put anything, with new wheels I think I can build a big and simple MOC with few parts, my goal is that it had a Lego set style. Here you can see these beautiful machines, they are perfects for me they have small cabins for a bad cabin builder . As you can see their wheels are even bigger than a new large pneumatic cylinder. -
Hello to everyone. I'd like to present a new project. I'm building an Underground Mining Loader. The idea came to me two years ago when Lego released the set Mine Loader (42049). By the time, I was expecting this to be the flagship model (1H) of that year, but it turned out to be a medium-size model. So I built my own. I took parts mainly from my Volvo Loader (42030) and built a version with a much lower profile. The result was ugly but functional. It's being on a corner getting dust. A couple of weeks ago I took this Moc apart and I'm rebuilding it from scratch. I'm not showing the "original" because it's really ugly. I hope I can make a decent model, something between good-looking and functional. Although most of the ideas come from the previous Moc, the "improved version" it's proving to be a difficult job. I think it would take a couple of weeks to finish the improved version. Here're some pictures from the first part. I'm happy with the results. I think 1/5 of the job is done. Disclaimer: I'm not trying to replicate a specific machine, but I have taken inspiration from the Caterpillar portfolio Thank you for your time. ****Pictures of the final model**** Lateral access to motor. For maintenance purposes, I guess. Hardly noticeable IR receivers ;) Easy access to motor. Cabin with chair and control panel. No floor. Easy access to battery and cables. You can also accommodate the rechargeable battery. -

Like I said in this topic Z-bar linkage help, I am building another wheel loader. This time is the Caterpillar 990 which is the biggest one I can build because the bigger ones like the 992, 993 or 994 have two cylinders for the bucket and it would be impossible keep the width in scale. It uses the Class tyres and in the beginning it had to be manual but I have so many room that I am thinking on a complete pneumatic RC loader. I hope you like the WIP process every advice is wellcome. I am trying wheels, should I have to buy the yellow ones?. -
This type of geared type loco is called a "Shay" (specifically a type "A", which means two pistons and two trucks) and were named after their original inventor of the type, Ephraim Shay. These loco's could only go about 20 miles per hour (or about 32 Kilometers per hour, if that's your thing) at top speed, and were very steady on rough track, hauling logging and mining trains up grades that would easily stall conventional steamer types. You can read more about Shay geared steam locomotive's at Wikipedia. Please NOTE: The design of the original Shay I redid into my version was by Stephan Pakbaz over on Flickr, as seen below. (His LDD file allowed me to build my version) as seen here. The 1 x 1 tiles on either side of the coal bunker are supposed to be printed with the number "4" The Shay type only has pistons on one side, with the other side being kinda sparsely decorated. Usually, their would be various accessories and such on this side, but i liked it better devoid of any clutter. The Shay geared steam loco bends in a odd way... but at least it works. NOTE: The angle shown is quite a bit more severe curve than the loco will ever have to handle.... but it looks pretty cool! This raw ore car was modeled after a custom Brick Link item by @wildchicken13 except mine is narrower and uses two wheels for a Wild West flair. You can see the original item that inspired me here. The caboose follows my standard pattern for my Western trains, with only a few color swaps and a missing cupola on top to set it apart from the others. Here we see the mining train consisting of four silver ore cars and a caboose, without the Shay. This is my latest (and most likely last) Western styled train, and it will join my other four steamers and their trains in my Wild West collection sometime later in 2018. (The reason I say "last" is that I've run out of railroad-related ideas for my Wild Western layout and am planning on focusing on the updated Native American camp, revised Fort Legoredo and the remaining frontier town buildings after this.) As you may have suspected, the ore the mining train holds comes from my well-protected silver mine, which can be seen in it's own topic. ...and as usual, comments, questions, complaints and suggestions are always welcome! -
During the 19th century, steam was the primal and most important source for machinery and vehicles. Besides steam-powered vehicles, mechanics developed clockwork machinery. Interesting and very usefull machinery were the result of the developing. The miners are mining in the Endarmire Iron Mine. They’re searching for iron. The mechanics use the iron to build (mining) machinery. The Endarmire Iron Mine is a large mine, which contains lots of iron and other ores. In the workshop, three mechanics are assembling clockwork drones. The drones going mining for iron. A large mineshaft brings the miners and drones into the mine. The conveyor belt brings the crates, filled with iron, outside the mine. The conveyor belt and mine shaft are motorized. In the center of the layout is a ore-cruncher. There are two docks for flying transport vehicles. Not too long ago, a group of prospectors took a stab at a bit of Fuerte Unido terrain on Isla de la Victoria. They found silver and were eager to commence operations... but unfortunately that wasn't so easy. With all the excitement of the Marderian war, able-bodied men were scarce in Fuerte Unido in those days. And able-brained engineers were even scarcer... so this is what happened: Run! No use leaving a nugget behind though, if it comes quickly to hand! This build pretty well exhausted my supply of tan slopes... particularly inverted slopes. I left the top open mostly to let the light in for photography... you're welcome to assume that it's a cut out, or you can assume that that's the way the actual mine is. Whatever floats your boat. Fortunately, it looks like all five miners escaped. One last shot of the interior! Well, I finally got around to this... pretty enjoyable, though just because of the fact that it's a mine shaft I feel like there's so much detail that doesn't come across in the pictures! The crack in the side technique was pretty much borrowed from Captain Genaro (although my cracks aren't nearly as big or as numerous as his... I didn't have enough inverted slopes!). Fun stuff anyhow - C&C appreciated!

I created this modified Bucket Wheel Excavator some time ago, and I thought I would like to share it on this forum. After building the original BWE, I wanted to try to incorporate some Mindstorms functions into it. I managed to motorise all the active functions, using both an EV3 brick and motors, as well as some PF motors. Functions can be preprogrammed, or can be remotely controlled using an EV3 IR remote. Here is a list of the functions: Bucket wheel rotation and main conveyor belt - PF XL motor Lower conveyor belt - PF medium motor Boom arm elevation - EV3 large motor Lower conveyor swivel - EV3 large motor Superstructure rotation - EV3 medium motor Driving - EV3 medium motor Since I owned an NXT as well, I used it to motorise the small mining truck that was included in the set. There are also some LEDs that illuminate the 'work area', but they don't really do a good job, its just a nice thing to include. I triying to build the smallest pneumatic machine I can, 8 functions, 4 pneumatic autovalves and 5 motors but I don´t know yet... the fifth motor is just for the gearbox (yellow piece) without it I wouldn´t need a third receptor and in a small machine is a lot of extra room. Now you can see 4 motors, gearbox, 4 autovalves, the shifting mechanism and the outputs for the trasmision, I still have to put the stair and turntable mechanism, 4 pneumatic pumps, battery and 3 receptors with 1 motor or just 2 receptors, I am talking just about the body , I have to build tracks and two arms, normal and frontal type (this one needs the fourth autovalve to open and close it).

Hi everyone, Last year someone asked me if I was planning to build a layout based on the Space miner from the Collectable minifigures. I thought that was a nice idea and during Lego World in the Netherlands previous year I received a lot of Bricklink part 30022. I had no idea what to do with that until my neighbor was creating a big triangle with three of those parts. That is where my idea started to create a tower for the outpost. Journal Entry 2 Well a lot has been done here on Farmolis mining post #1, we manage to get a good vein of Awesomnium, My drone and I have managed to get our mobile crane in before the "TNT cart" . The space is very tight but able to place some TNT down to make the space bigger and more open for a mining truck or something else...the rocks seem to have their own power source which I find odd...I sent a few off to Mrs. Smith to analyse them and get back to Dr. Long on the progress (next week build hint hint)...anyways we are working around the clock and so far no injuries to report...thank god cause these drone make me nervous... Journal Entry 1 My Drone and I have been tasked by higher management to get to work on a small mining post within a small valley on my home planet of Farmolis. It's great to back home working out in the field but working with these octan drones makes me kinda nervous..We have also been told to make sure that the operation can run night and day. I can finally disassemble this , my first "complex" MOC with instructions. At first I thought to do a specific dumper, a white liebherr, but at the end I did a generic truck because I didn´t want uncommon pieces and I wanted to use less room as I can. Hello! I want to share with my custom LEGO mining truck. Gold mine needs a lot of trucks. And I decided to build one. This MOC is easy to build and you don't need a lot of bricks to make it. I like all official mining sets and I am waiting for some new. Do you like my new MOC?

My goal as usual is a strong and playable MOC, I think it will have steering, fake engine and a pneumatic tilting bed. I am not sure with the suspension, it works fine but I don´t like having it only on the front wheels. I like the sturdy and narrow rear axle and the parts that prevent the axle of the front wheels from sliding in.

I was not happy enough with my previous version so I had to improve it and I think I achieved it. With less pieces, around 1040, it is still RC with better playability due to the servo used for the steering, it has a better rear suspension, it is more modular and less ugly . I already have the instructions but I do not know yet what color use... I hope you like. -
I've built this MOC last week, I hope you like it The Rock raiders use this small vehicle for transporting rocks and stones. The vehicle contains a radar dish, a mining tool and a laser cutter. The laser cutter can be used for splitting rocks. It will be a front shovel or a excavator or both. My challenge is not to have reference, I want to do it strong and playable with the less pieces I can. I started with the tracks and it was not easy at all... all the weight rest over the six small wheels to have less friction on the track gears and you can take off easy the turntable, each undercarriage and the center part. I would like to know if the small tracks will be a good idea to move the machine, I think I will have to do a test with a lot of weight to test it. I did not like at all the 42100 tracks because they are too big I wanted mine just 9 studs high. I still have a lot of work to do so I am quite happy.

The Rock Raiders use this small buggy for discovering caves. The buggy has a small computer unit and a radar dish. The buggy Isn’t equipped with mining tools, it’s only usable as a discovery vehicle. This is a suction jet dredge I designed on LDD. I work on one of these things as a mechanic. The movement of the ship is controlled by six anchors, attached to the winches on the front, on both sides and on the back of the ship. It's not fully finished yet. I still need to build the compressor that provides pressure for the suction head. Back in 2015, Ive started to build the Core Mining Unit. That's a mining unit which will be used by the Xerion Mining Corporation. The Xerion Mining Corporation is a group of miners and researchers who discover new planets to search and mine ores. I've finished this MOC in 2018. The Core Mining Unit is a modular mining vehicle, which can be used in various mining and exploration missions. The vehicle have several modules: Drill, magnet crane, transport module for a small spaceship, sattelite launch module, laser cutter, tool module. The cabin contains a small speeder.
