This model is basically two different "okay" fire boat sets smashed together to make a "better" ship. The features I'm talking about are modern upper decks with plenty of fire-fighting power (represented by CITY set 7207), and a brick built hull like from the early series of ships. (as seen on set WORLD City 7046) As a side note, The printed parts are from another Fire Station from the 4 Juniors theme. (4657) With that in mind, I built a whole new hull for the ship out of mostly 2 x 10 and 2 x 8 bricks with a few fancy bow parts from set 7046 thrown in. The rest of the ship comes from set 7207, but with a few tweaks here and there. (such as adding a smokestack and rear water tank) The rear of the ship features an extendable and rotatable water cannon arm to get deep inside the burning hull of the imaginary ship this vessel is fighting to save. You can also see the smaller cannons scattered around the ship in several locations. The top of the ship's bridge flips open to reveal the command center of the model, with the steering wheel and several computer readouts telling of power supplied to the engines and of radar detected objects in the ship's path. The lower deck consists of the galley (or kitchen) and a quite large computer terminal array. The forward flip-up section features water pressure monitor controls. NOTES: The upper deck (the bridge) is grouped separately in the file because it is removable to access the ship's lower level. Also, I originally made this for my brother, but he changed his mind on it, so I'll be (eventually) building it instead. Ladies and Gentlemen, several months have passed since my last posting here. Surely quite a long time. But I was pretty busy in real life. Fortunately I’ve found some time to finish several MOCs for my municipal fire department during the past months. Now I found the time to show you what has left the factory on my desk... Let’s start with a new MPV. It’s based on the short SUV-version as you can in the second pic and it’s mostly used for the daily routine. Generic build with nothing special. Based on longer 4 x 10 studs classical car chassis. One of the newer creations is a new truck for the rescue-divers unit. The truck itself features an airconditioned cabin for the divers to change their clothes, loaded fully with rescue and technical equipment – especially for the rescue on (iced up) waterways. The trailer features a speedboat with a rugged aluminum hull. I also redid my fire truck for heavy technical assistance on railways. I got the proportions much more right by shorten the lenghts about one stud. I redid the bogie underneath and changed the regular train wheels to these little 1/2 smooth technic bush for a more realistic look. Unfortunately it won’t fit on the lego tracks anymore. Well... but I am okay with it. Surely one of the most specialized apparatus is this telehandler. I had it on schedule for almost years. But didn’t manage how get all the significant details and of course the integrated playability into 4wide. Finally I decided to build the cabin segment in 5wide. Thankfully I a spent evening chatting with some friends on 1000steine I got the right influences concerning the telescope arm. I also created abunch of different tools for the handler: a forklift, a lifting platform, a shovel, a hook, a claw and such. The lastest creation is special foam unit. I’ve found an old photo on the internet of a fire truck to be on duty at an Esso oil refinery near Cologne, Germany during the first half of the 1980s. That caught my attention. I decided to build my own version of it. Added specials are definitely the two independent moveable turrets, snotted tank-segment with its hose ports. I also could finish two new trucks for Farnheim Airport Fire Services. The smaller one is a typically RIV (Rapid Intervention Vehicle) and other one is a massive Crash Tender, which was originally in service at the Stuttgart International Airport from the late 1980s till 2003. Both models feature the use of the actual 4 wide mudguards. In addition the bigger Crash Tender has a tilting cabin with a motor replica and a special, unusual tire-on-tire combination to get the typical monstrous appearance as the original. BTW: This year the Farnheim Fire Department is going to celebrate its 30th anniversary. Started as an classical 1/87th scale modelling. The years passed and the hobby rested for almost two decades. Since 2009, when getting in touch with Lego again, I restarted the Farnheim-themed modelling by using bricks instead of glue and paint. Hey all! For a while, I've want to build something for the frozen beyond, but I never made time for it. When I was building for a contest, with a mage-battle category, I decided it was time for a build for The Frozen Beyond. For those that are wondering, no it doesn't have purple roofs, so this isnt located in Kyrrath. This build is located somewhere in the land in south of Kyrrath. The reason I didn't go for purple roofs(wanted to do so, at first) is that I didnt want to use black in my build, and I don't have enough purple wedges for all the roofs. So in the end I went for the blue-orange colorscheme, to make an unrealistic color-combination, although I didn't want it to look 'weird'. In the end I'm quite pleased with the result, so now it's up to you to make your own opinion at my build :) I didn't really make a story, but my build shows that the algus is still slowly spreading over the guilds... It has even reached one of the 'hottest' places, far into the nocturnus' lands... But although they come close to these places, the algus isn't strong enough to capture the house of the fire-mage... This far from the north, the power of the Algus isn't that big anymore, and the icemage gets blown away by the firespells, used by the fire-mage... Time for everyone's favorite childhood vehicle, a Fire Truck! This one is modeled off of @HorcikDesigns fabulous Truck. This one takes his design, adds a little Renault, and some special features, and it's done. The manual truck has four wheel drive, with suspension based off my 8081 4x4, a I-4 engine, a link based steering system controlled by both roof lights, and a tilting cab with seating for four. This time I'm presenting my latest LDD work. A Zekiville Volunteer fire station. The building itself contains 20.000 bricks. It meets the latest standards in safety and functionality. The main part of the building houses garages, wardrobes and sanitary facilities for firefighters. The Gray wind accomidates all the administative facilities and the underground levels cover recreational and storage facilities. The training tower is designed to allow vertical rescue training, and structual fire simulations. The top 2 floors on gray wind and a top floor on orange wing (main building) provides 12 apartments for firefighter and their families in order to provide as fast responce as possible. The building also house other volunter emergency services such as: - K9 Sar unit - Dive rescue unit - Cave rescue unit and mountain rescue unit. The garages for their equipmet are locates at the back of the building. The look on the building from the front. Back view. Part of rescue apparatus. I wanted to create some different areas based on the four elements represented by the four main elves, I've mixed parts from all kinds of different sets to create these places. This one is the earth themed home for Farran the Earth Elf. I wanted it to be part cottage, part treehouse. It's mostly parts from The Elves Treetop Hideaway and the Ewok Village sets. I attached my waterfall cave alongside the treehouse I also made a fire themed volcano cave with a tall treehouse/tower neighbouring it. It's mostly made from a Lego Friends set that has a cabin and a waterfall. I kept the cabin and built the tower above it and changed the waterfall into a volcano. I've created a workshop for the Air Elf Aira in one section of the tower with a bedroom above it, an observing platform with a telescope above that and a turret room on the top. The webisodes show that Azari the fire elf is homeless and just crashes with the other elves, but I've given her a warm place to sleep inside the volcano. I kept the camp beds in the cabin for the humans to sleep in when they visit Elvendale. And here's some random pictures..

My second build for ABS Round 2.1 The seed part is the red bucket, which I used 19 times (once in another color) in this build, see if you can find them all! I have wanted to try some builds in the city theme for a while, and a fire truck offered some nice possibilities to use the seed part. Then I decided to add the actual fire station, and a smaller fire truck after coming up with some other ideas for the part. The build is complete on all sides, and even has a bit of interior. Howdy all! I'm in the middle of designing a MOD/MOC for my daughter's Christmas present based off of City Police Station 7498, which I always felt was the 'best' City Police Station in modern times. But my OH pointed out that others would totally see the play-ability options in 60047 as making that set superior, even though I always felt the building was a bit naff. So, I began wondering - what, of the major sets, are the best of the best? Which one if YOUR favourite, and why? Major sets would be Fire Station, Police Station, Garage, Hospital etc; I've noticed everyone says "we haven't had a proper hospital since Town's ETC 6380" and I'm wondering if the same thing has happened with other big sets, or if it's a matter of taste?

My 10th and last entry to the Colossal Castle Contest (small miscellaneous category). This was mainly a small fun build to mess around with new designs. I’m quite pleased with how it turned out, and that I was able to get every element actually attached, except the 3 logs which rest securely in the firewood bin. First installment in the story. After his first successful meeting with the Jarl of Balkr, Glorfindel had high hopes that he would meet with similar success when visiting other jarls and lords on the Nocturnus border. Dedan had set off for another clansman village, while Glorfindel's next trip took him to the medium sized town of Firoir. A single guard stood watch at the gate, or rather sat watch, as he was resting on a stool. "What's your business here?" He questioned, not bothering to stand. "I need to speak with Lord Tuinis," Glorfindel replied, taking in the somewhat disheveled uniform of the soldier. "Just straight on down the main road to his manor then, can't miss it." "Thank you, and good day," said Glorfindel, to which the guard merely grunted. Continuing on his way, Glorfindel saw that the guard was right and that it would be almost impossible to miss the large ornate manor. After an equally brief conversation with the steward, Glorfindel found himself face-to-face with Lord Tuinis in a lavish wood paneled room. "And what brings the esteemed Sir Glorfindel to the humble town of Firoir?" Asked Tuinis with a sneer. "Urgent orders from Elon Chorian no doubt, more men and supplies needed to defend our beloved capitol city?" Somewhat taken aback by the lord's belittling manner, Glorfindel tried to be diplomatic in his response: "It's always an honor to be received into any town of Mitgardia, and while the capitol is secure, I do bring word from Chorian that the villages, towns, and cities along the Nocturnus border should be fortified against a possible attack from the darklands. Tuinis jeered, "Of course! It's easy enough for him to order new fortifications and more soldiers to be trained, but we lords always pay the price for his petty concerns. Not a year ago, I was ordered to send troops and reserves of goods to the North for defense against the Algus threat. Yet this supposed threat to our existence was never even sighted by my scouts!" "Surely you don't mean to question the validity of the Algus attack?" Glorfindel asked incredulously. "Northern Mitgardia paid a dear price to keep the Algus from advancing to your doorstep! And if your scouts really never picked up on that threat, that only betrays their incompetence!" "You dare insult a lord of Mitgardia to his face at his own hearth?" spat Tuinis, "I know your kind, merely a lackey of Valholl, constantly sticking your nose into your better's business, and getting rewarded for it!" For a moment, Glorfindel could only consider the satisfaction a swift blow to the insolent face before him would provide, then with a great effort he controlled himself and turned from the room. Tuinis aimed one final insult at the retreating figure "That's right, crawl back to your fancy city and learn not to meddle. You have no authority here, boy." Another view of the build. I have been searching new MOC subject for some time, as I want a model to be good looking for display; to have enough features but not too complex; to well use of my inventory (major sets part out mostly from 2012 onwards), and to play with my kid reliably. The new PANTHER Aircraft rescue and firefighting (ARFF) vehicle by The Rosenbauer Group has caught my attention. It’s the 4th generation ARFF vehicle launched in mid 2015 and its futuristic appearance, 6x6 chassis, unique sliding doors and feasible color scheme fit my MOC wish list very well. I started from the bodywork by modeling the truck exterior features, for example , roof profile, back exhaust louvers, incline headlights, steep ramp angle at the front and the back, and spent quite some time adjusting the body shape from being too boxy. The design of the chassis is straight forward. Since the real PANTHER is supposed to be a fast rescuing machine, I made good use of the large interior to fit in 3 XL motors to ensure enough power for driving. One motor drive one axle at a time, instead of stacking all three motors in parallel. This will avoid too much toque applying on one single Lego element. Rear axles are modified live axle suspension ‘floating’ within a rigid frame, resulting similar effect as independent suspension. Front axle is simple live axle suspension with steer function. All axles are driven in 1:1 ratio. Similar to the real PANTHER engine location, an inline 6 cylinders fake Volvo engine is seated at the back and is geared up to 2.78:1. By using the rear axles as pivot, weight (battery boxes) is placed at the back to balance the motors weight applying to the front axle. Sides panels at both end can be opened manually for battery box access. It’s challenging to pack the door sliding mechanism under the cabin without interfering the steep ramp angle at the front. The test build is done during the Christmas holiday and the doors slide quite well after a few design attempts and I am quite satisfied with the result. I am still in the process of thinking whether to use a simple swinging turret as the forth function, or a more complex high reach extendable turrets that will require an extra 2 channels and a lot of design effort. -

And the results: again from front From the back (this one I spent a bit more time on the interior as the fire station is the favorite of my son. And finally a zoom in on the living quarters: So there you go, one more left. Anyone else undertaking similar upgrades to their town sets?

I've built these vehicles to be used for the town airport. It is a small unit containing a water (or foam) cannon, a tank with ladder, tools and hose and a paramedic vehicle. Okay first off, this is my first Free Build, my first build for Historica period. So it might not be amazing but I don't think it's terrible. Constructive Criticism is appreciated. It features my character Dorshov the wizard, And yeah, on to the story: The wind rustled through the trees in one of the dense forests in Nocturnus. Step step clack, step step clack. The rhythmic sounds of foot steps and a walking stick echoed through the trees. An old man rounded the bend and started for the small bridge that spanned the small gorge cut by the creek that it surrounded. Ahead of him, on the opposite bank hidden behind a tree was a lone bandit. From his hiding place, he stared covetously at the large red jewel at the tip of the old mans walking stick. . As the old man stepped onto the bridge the bandit leapt out from his hiding place and charged forward! The old man (Dorshov), raised his staff and cried out a guttural word. And fire blasted from his staff, and the bandit screamed as he was consumed by fire.As the bandit crumbled to ash, Dorshov resumed his journey leaving the a mound of ash and a sword behind... finis (that's Latin for finish or end) As I said already compliments and criticism is welcome, thank you for taking the time to look at this. Happy new year everyone! Before Christmas I could finish my lastest project for my fictional Fire Department of the City of Farnheim. This huge new mobile command unit (MCU) replaces an old bus. These kind of trucks are common in cities with more than 400,000 residents here in Germany. Based on an regular truck chassis it has a typical boxed body that can be expanded at the passenger side to increase the room's space. Equipped with high end communication and radio features to handle huge incidents. I've build a five studs wide box to get the right scale for the expansion. The rest is classically 4wide. I attached most of the details to the roof, like an air condition, a few antennas, a satellite dish and a red flash light (that locates the command unit for others at scenes). Freshly arrived at the main fire station it got its first "very close inspection" by some of the firemen. Btw, I got the ideas mostly from here and here (German text version only). Hope you like it. Dear Lego, We know you design sets in advance, and it's very likely we'll see another lineup of fire sets for city. In conversations with other Lego fire builders, we humbly submit 5 requests regarding that theme. Thank you, in advance, for your consideration. 1. It's time for a new air tank mold. The double-airtank Lego mold is now 40 years old and inaccurate. It's probably time for an update. Firefighters in the United States (and around the world) use airtanks that are a single tank, not a double tank. See this photo 2. It's time for a more modern stretcher (Stokes basket). The Lego stretcher piece is from WWI. We're now 100 years past that technology. We'd really appreciate a Stokes basket piece. 3. We're desperate for lift doors in sizes other than just 4-tall. A 2-studs-tall (4 wide) version would be awesome. Also, we need them in red. The ones on Bricklink are going for $25+ EACH! 4. We'd like a 6-wide windscreen piece that's not sloped. This part – but in a 6-wide version. 5. This one is optional, but would be awesome. How about yellow printing on a black helmet? This is the standard helmet for firefighters in much of the U.S. One way to address this would be to release a collectable American firefighter minifig. Some people say that the prequels sucked...and they did...but I believe that this scene redeemed all 3 movies (Minus He-sa who-sa shall not be named-sa ;) So I decided to replicate this epic Lightsaber battle in Lego. This moc has over 1500 pieces (most of which are in the lava) and took me and my sister about 7 hours to build and finalize. After a week of looking at it I thought something was missing so I ordered some fantastic Lego lights and set them up under that lava to create a fantastic effect. I would love some feedback on the moc and I'd love to hear your opinions. Thanks so much for taking a look!

Hi everyone, I participated on a contest of LowLUG. The contest was to build something what has something to do with: in fire and flame. Maximum 16 x 16 studs and 20 bricks high. The third and last build was Sirius Black. I wanted to create the face of Sirius Black in the fire. I had the printed tile as example for the shape, but the colors of the printed tile were terrible. Here are my latest, Actually completed and posted on the last day of the last year. I am a big child and I wanted to make some cute old-timers, and are there cuter cars than those from the 40's? Anyway, I made toys I could play with when I put my kids off to sleep and so I did. Everything opens and each model's got something extra. For example Fleetmaster Fastback version which is the police vehicle's got guns and a rifle. Coupe version for the Fire Chief's got some fire extinguishers, Sedan version which is the TAXI's got 2 suitcases and the Delivery stretched Ambulance version some medical gear an oxigen tank, water tank with a pipe and a gurney. Hello! Today I decided to build custom LEGO fire ATV. And this is what I've done. I like the colors and size of the ATV. I think, I will put it in the LEGO forest, near the city. By the way, I like all official LEGO forest fire and police sets. On my opinion, LEGO forest subtheme is good and I'm waiting for some new sets. Do you agree with me?
