Over the years, I learned to not get too excited until I can actually hold the box in my hands.

Neat. The flat track and center rail remind me of some of the steer it yourself amusement park car rides. Are you going to power the center wheel? This could also be a good idea for a cog railway.

Mega Bloks + Kre-o as one company = bad news for TLG?

It's one less competitor. Generally having more competitors is better for consumer pricing.- 21 replies

It is hard to hire good gunnery crew help in the empire. The seas are a dangerous place. The higher the risks, the bigger the rewards and so is the greater the loss. Sea Rats will be back.

Limits are set so that other customers can get a chance to buy and own the set like children who have to save up their allowances over time. I don't think the limiter algorithm on S@H is sophicated enough yet to check your past purchases to determine if you have already purchased the set before. It'll stop you from entering a quantity of more than 1 on the current order. That doesn't mean LEGO can't run queries on your purchasing history at a later time and figure out you bought more than one. If you don't want your extra purchase to be in the system tied to you, don't buy from S@H. Buy the set from other retailers with no limits. I don't think 1 extra is going to ban you but if you have a repeating history of doing something like that, then the risks are higher.

Nice. The panoramic roof is cool. Do you have a picture of your entire train together?

Something about your history with LEGO has made them set a "blackflag" to your name in the customer records database. You're best bet is to contact LEGO to deal with it. Companies may ban customers for failing to paid past invoices, fraud, bad credit risk, etc. I think there was another EB user who was banned by LEGO.com. It turned out it was his room mate using his account and abusing the system.

[APP] BrickController2
dr_spock replied to imurvai's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Cool idea. I think a controller gives much better tactile control than a touch screen. Can it work with older versions of Android and BT?- 1,316 replies

Question. What happens to the captain and crew of the captured ships? Is their fate determined by a roll? The newspaper article seem to hint at some sort of prison escape plan.

Clever idea. Looks good and provide extra pieces. Is that a brick separator roof?

My motor wires keep breaking

The NXT RJ12 connectors can be a weak point. The tabs can break off. Snagged it on something while trying to untangle a bundle of NXT cables and it's bye-bye. It is not easy to find a crimper for RJ12 and blank RJ12 connectors. They are not as popular as RJ45 or RJ11. -
Nice press. This seems more like something Corrington would have. I guess it would be good for printing leaflets to inform local residences to surrender before we plunder their village.

Sounds like those NPC pirates were out pirating. Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me. We pillage, we plunder, we rifle and loot. Drink up me 'earties, yo ho. We kidnap and ravage and don't give a hoot. Drink up me 'earties, yo ho. Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me. We extort and pilfer, we filch and sack. Drink up me 'earties, yo ho. Maraud and embezzle and even highjack. Drink up me 'earties, yo ho. Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me. We kindle and char and enflame and ignite. Drink up me 'earties, yo ho. We burn up the city, we're really a fright. Drink up me 'earties, yo ho. We're rascals and scoundrels, we're villains and knaves. Drink up me 'earties, yo ho. We're devils and black sheep, we're really bad eggs. Drink up me 'earties, yo ho. Yo ho, you ho, a pirate's life for me. We're beggars and blighters and ne'er do-well cads, Drink up me 'earties, yo ho. Aye, but we're loved by our mommies and dads, Drink up me 'earties, yo ho.

That could be a cut piece of 3mm rigid hose tubing to size.

You could register him as a Freebuild #3 or higher of the month which doesn't come with automatic 10 DBs. Then not ask for approvals if you really don't want to make any DBs off it. Once registered as a freebuild, you can license it to use in BoBS.

Well done. This brings back memories. I see you arrested a bunch of trespassers on Shell property.

Welcome to Eurobricks.

Were those automations and inventions like the antikythera mechanism continued to be used in the time period between Medieval and Age of Sail that BoBS is set in? Or was knowledge and skills to use them lost in the LEGO Dark Ages?

Buying in bulk from the Lego group?
dr_spock replied to Andrzej777's topic in General LEGO Discussion
The website user interface won't let you type in a number larger than 999. But you can get over 1000 by clicking add to bag on the item again. I suppose you can click your way to 9999. If you're going for that many pieces, you're probably better to contact LEGO directly and try to work out a deal. -
Galaxy Quest. It was kind of Star Trekkie.

I use Brickshelf and Flickr too. Flickr has a wider audience reach. It is not just AFOLs on Flickr. It is kind of interesting getting non-AFOLs fav'ing your LEGO photography. I don't have PRO account but you can still see basic activity reports of new followers, who is fav'ng and who is commenting on your photos (of your MOCs). I think most of the best builders are on Flickr. I think another way you can get more views on your MOCs is to get noticed and blogged by one of the popular LEGO blogs. Since you do Technic and System, it might be worth an analysis of which is more popular with the viewing population.
