Hi Lego fans.. Greetings from Costa Rica!

Why is LEGO now being made in China?
dr_spock replied to 9v system's topic in General LEGO Discussion
You still need workers to setup, operate and fix the machines. Assembling Power Function motors, some detailed painting, etc. may still have to be done by hand. -
You're welcome.

Using HTTPS means the communication between you and YouTube is encrypted. It makes harder for someone to figure out what you are watching if they tried to sniff your Internet traffic. Great.

If they were clever, they would say something about LEGO and they would get clicks on the links. I am wary of clicking on links by users who don't deep link their pics or videos in order to see their MOCs.

General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread

In your local town, village or city. Maybe at your home on DVD or Blu-ray. I just re-watched At World's End tonight on DVD. -
Is the pirate train going to be motorized? I found a few more odd MOCs in my collection. Welcome aboard, vclarke. Eurobricks is not really setup to host pictures. Pictures can be uploaded to a picture hosting service like flickr, brickshelf, etc. and then deep linked into your post. If you use flickr, here is a tutorial on how to do that: http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=97921

Welcome aboard. Nice collection of MOCs.

Welcome to Eurobricks.

Thank you. Credit goes to SilentWolf's suggestion of randomizing greenery from CH1A. Thank you. Sea Rats is about having fun and not having to pay taxes. We do accept new members. Thank you. I was going for silky smooth beach with the six pack abs look from those vacation paradise TV ads. I'll try some texturing for a future MOC. Those natives sure do speak a strange futuristic language, almost like before their time. LOL.

You did a good job of going into the wild. NPU on the use of horns for chilli peppers. The way you lighted your first picture made it look like a rendered LDD image-pretty cool effect. Mixing yellow and fleshies adds diversity. You can use white paper or cardboard to bounce (reflect) the sunlight on your MOC for a more even diffused lighting. You may have to get a helper to hold the reflectors or make holders out of LEGO.

Great scene and build. Sand green mason bricks works well for algae slime. All the figs filling the street gives it life. There is an opening in the right hand side, is there also an underground part?

Thank you. The pirate forum always had some humour in our contests and challenges. You'd be happy too if you got to do taste testing. Glad you like it. Thank you. Thank you for the suggestion. I'll try random the vegetation. It might be hard on my OCD. Thank you. I was using the barrels as a wall. They can be horizontal after filled. Banana flavored liquor. LOL. Perfect picture.

Challenge 1 B Banana Republic by dr_spock_888, on Flickr Our pirate Susieh and her crew came upon a small island in Terra Nova. Danger appeared to lurk on the island. Upon landing on the beach, our pirates smelled a sweet intoxicating banana vapour and followed the scent to a group of natives. They seemed friendly enough. Susieh proceeded to negotiate a trade. Susieh drove a hard bargain with the native islanders. The islanders sought more bananas for their Master Brewer.

Smoking ABS plastic will kill you. If you have a 3D printer that can print in ABS, avoid inhaling the fumes.

Do modern white bricks still turn yellow?
dr_spock replied to ProducePrincess's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I have some late 2000s white bricks that are not as white as a brand new. It could be whatever is in the air you breathe too. -
Nice. You could run a PF extension cable or two from the front to the back and have your IR receivers closer together if distance is a problem. It is not far fetch since the real trucks do have a control line that goes from the truck to the rear trailer for brake, lights, remote steering, etc. Although, I've seen people control LEGO trains with 2 engines on opposite ends of a train, each with a IR receiver on the same channel without problems. Have you tried the 42042 with the boom at a higher angle? The lifting capacity of cranes are better with the load closer to the crane.

Technic 16 mm balls or Friends 14 mm balls would probably the least likely to fall through the gaps or get jammed between the tracks and sprockets. -
Lego Amtrak Train, has anybody seen this before?
dr_spock replied to xboxtravis7992's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I've seen that before on an Amtrak fan website. It's is wrapped on a Horizon fleet passenger car. I haven't seen one made out of LEGO before. I don't think it is too hard to do. Maybe you can do one for that contest proprosal? EDIT: I just notice your picture and my LEGO Amtrak engines show up in the Google image search for "LEGO Amtrak Train Wrap"
