  1. I think making his torso more flat might help. Darth Vader doesn't seem like the type to have a beer belly.
  2. When do we see the results of the MCRA? Darn, battery powered tanks with crow nest are out too? Motorized Turbo Tank by dr_spock_888, on Flickr
  3. You could visit the tourist gift or souvenier shops in the country you're visiting to get some ideas. They usually have post cards, pictures, figurines of people in the local attrire or characters that represents the country. You could base your minifigs off them. England - CMF royal guard with bear hat or constable France - CMF painter or mime Scotland - CMF bag piper
  4. I would like to see Adventure Time too. The others don't strike my fancy.
  5. 2009/2010 may have been a special situation. It was before LEGO got the Pirates of the Carribean license. With another movie coming out in 2017, they may save the big ship release for PoTC as there could be a larger market that want those movie ships. Hard to say without insider information on their product planning...
  6. Speaking of technic and train mix. Desert752 built this for the TRIPLE contest entry 3 years ago. I think there is a sand quarry in Russia with a giant chain bucket scooper and loading into train cars.
  7. Amazing collaboration. Which shows/events will be it at this year for people wishing to see it IRL?
  8. If you're going to USA, BrickWorld is one of the big AFOL events.
  9. Quick and easy fix? Maybe you can ask your wife to fix 42030 for you. Easy steering fix could be to use an IR train speed controller to steer the servo motor. No rebuilding or mini-LA required.
  10. It depends on condition of the sticker. The stickers on my 8258 Crane Truck have harden and cracked. They would break apart if I tried to peel them off. On other sets like Power Miners, I was able to pull off stickers and stick on sticker backing paper for future re-use. If the stickers are still pliable, you could carefully do it. I'd suggest testing on a small not so critical sticker first. I used an X-Acto knife to lift up the stickers at corner.
  11. Maybe this year they'll ship out the orders in reverse alphabetical order and it won't be September?
  12. Metal axles are used for LEGO train bogies. They are child safe to assemble. They aren't as cheap as plastic axles but offer lower rolling resistance. They would add to the cost of a set. LEGO could raise prices or adjust the set part content and design to meet a price point that they think works.
  13. Depending on the country making a false declaration of goods and value on the custom forms could get the seller in trouble. They could lose their export priviledges, face fines or jail time. Most will put in their splash page or store terms page that they won't make false declarations.
  14. Welcome aboard. Great job on the train and detailing/decaling. What kind of wheels are those?
  15. Due to my age, I associate steam with Christmas. Diesel electric might fit more with the younger generation. The CN or CP Christmas train that travels throughout Canada or USA are pulled by modern diesels. I guess it would be fun to be on the product team that decides which type of engine get green lighted.
  16. I tried to teach myself to weld. I welded my muffler back on my car and it broke off again. I guess I won't be doing that for a living. We have a Car Talk thread on EB: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=29558
  17. There can be multiple reports on the same post. EB forum configuration allow for multiple reports of the same post. There is no way for the regular user to know it has been reported. On another site that I frequent, once a post is reported, no other report can be submitted and it is indicated to anyone who tries to submit a report after. It is quite possible you were at the right place and right time when a MOD was available to nuke the spam.
  18. Sorry to hear. My condolences. I haven't done any kind of official coming out. I have a feeling that most of the members of my LUG might know.
  19. Yup, it is the fastest class 1 or 2 ship. If you want to have a floatilla then the fastest ships will have to go at the speed of the slowest ship. I don't think we would mind too much if a floatilla getting separated out due to speed differences.
  20. Is it going to be like one of these but on water?
  21. I think it is a cylinder type pump similar to the Unimog pump. In the video the LEGO employee seems to be moving a lift arm back and forth to pump.
  22. Nice. You may find yourself wanting to get a few more in a short time. Is that a guest bed under the tables?
  23. So far. We don't know what 2017 and on holds yet.
