Good job. Looks nice in orange. Did the orange nose piece come from the 4 Junior tow truck set from 2003?

Good review. It works as a parts pack and a functional chess set if you are inclined to play chess. It is too bad they didn't include epaulettes for the soldiers. Nothing a simple Bricklink parts order can't fix. The set might be hard to find now. They were discounted after Christmas at LEGO brand stores and other retailers.

That's a great idea. Everyone would have the opportunity to catch up on spam that got deleted while they were offline at the wrong time and totally missed out. Plus time to make clever spam reports.

Experiment: Using Raspberry PI and SBricks for automatic train control
dr_spock replied to Asper's topic in LEGO Train Tech
That is true, IR can be a problem at exhibits where others are using the same channel. Esp8266 is an interesting device for low cost DIY entry into IoT (Internet of Things). You could have one in each of your trains, switches, sensors, track signals, motorized accessories, etc. and control your layout through a WIFI TCP/IP network. It can be programmed using the Arduino IDE if so desired. There are different firmware support. I think it has MESH network support now too. It's constantly evolving and it is hard to keep up all the new information. -
This is sinister like a clan of red skulls. Run and hide. Good use of the Nexo figs.

I think having a few more people available can help with taking breaks. Also so you don't get burnt out. Watching and interacting with kids is hard work. Our train display is not hands-on for the kids. I've been toying with the idea of letting them drive and having a microcontroller "PTC" override their actions if they go too fast or run a signal. We also have a GBC display and I ask kids to help me pick up balls and put them back into the machine. It saves me having to crawl under or over tables to get the runaway balls. They would watch and wait for a runaway ball. I think having something interactive can make it more fun for the kids. We also have play bricks for the kids to build and play with.

Experiment: Using Raspberry PI and SBricks for automatic train control

Cool stuff. Does Raspberry PI come with Bluetooth 4 LE? I did something similar using an Arduino with Infrared LED to talk to Power Functions. No modifications to PF trains are required so anyone can bring an off the shelf train to run. Raspberry PI could be a better choice than Arduino if you plan to run a webserver. Alternatively an ESP8266 can provide a webserver with WIFI plus several GPIOs for around $5 USD. -
That really depends on the Term and Conditions of the Licence Agreement negotiated between the licensor and licensee. It could be LEGO is allowed to sell replacement parts by one license and not another.

Welcome aboard Pete and DirtPiper. I think it could be a couple years before Pete's grandson can operate the remote without trying to eat it.

Cute. I could see Fabuland characters fitting in the scene too.

Excellent work on Gru and the minion.

Welcome to Eurobricks.

I think at that price this is more of a set from grandma and/or grandpa to the grandkids. It is rated age 12+ for a USC which seems kind of low to me. It is good set for those who don't already have the previous set releases. Easier to buy than trying to find and buy the old sets in the aftermarket.

Nice little build. I could see those spear maidens turn the Queen Rifles into a courier service to deliver packaged orders for the Amazons'R'Us.

Thank you all for your kind words. Thanks. SilentWolf beat me to a blacksmith. I think there will be overlap and similar types of properties given there are 4 fractions and many places to build upon. Sounds like a good line for MEME. Stealing is a bit more difficult when most of your fleet was captured on their very first MCRA. is perfect.

A good classic look. The studded plates help with that sweet old school feel. I see you have cut corners in your bottom rear corner. It's a good time and money saving trick in movie set production for an area not going to be filmed or shown to the viewers.

If LEGO already has an overlap concept, the 10K votes could be used an indicator it might worthwhile to proceed with their own concept. Then you get the they stole my Idea complaints. There could still be that slim odd chance your Idea hasn't been thought up by one of their 200 or so designers. Where there is New Hope, there is Star Wars. Projects based on current LEGO licenses have an even higher potential for overlap. We welcome projects based on current licenses like Star Wars, Superheroes, Disney, etc., However, these active licenses are likely to have similar concepts already in the pipeline. Please keep in mind that a project based on an existing LEGO license has a smaller chance of passing the LEGO Review than other projects.

Good chase scene. Could those natives be imaginary if he sampled the shrooms? -
Screwing down the tracks would be easier for removal. Prying out nails could damage the plastic if you are not careful and the plastic has aged and become brittle..
