  1. to make this the ultimate gift to your son - once you've built it in secret - take it apart, put it all in bags and sort it like lego do put it in a box and get some instructions made for your body as the instructions already exist for the 9398 chassis... ..i.e. dont just give it to him made - my boys were following lego instructions properly since age 3 - its all part of the experience.
  2. bizarrely I saw a 3 wheel bike exactly looking like your MOC a day ago....
  3. something new and completely different - why does it always have to be another back hoe, excavator or super car.... something for girls maybe ...technic friends... --- automatic PF pony and dog walker... KIDDING just KIDDING a nice 6 wheel PinzGauer or Tatra would do me fine.... but please less yellow....
  4. actually there seems to be more 8466 on ebay than ever at the moment and probably cheaper than buying the parts (used for used equivalent, new parts is a different story)
  5. I would use the narrower rigid tubing (same diameter as the T junction pieces) this is thinner than the flex axles but if you wanted it thicker you could insert short pieces into the end of larger diameter pneumatic hoses problem is these are too soft and only available in Blue and Black and Grey if you want to go down the lego purist route third party tubing must be available stiffer and in all colours.... and thicknesses -
  6. Just the doors and the seats are a work of art, let alone the rest of the car!
  7. This should be an official set - so compact and so many functions - love the gearbox and braking system
  8. put chain drive on it and make it 3wd - never ever seen a 3wd vehicle on here.....

  10. one of the nicest chassis' I have ever ever seen.....
  11. I remember having a Kyosho RC car at the same time as getting into technic and I was always amazed at how thin the differential was on that model using 4 or 3 lego 8 tooth standar gears and 2 standard 24 tooth bevelled gears a custom driving ring would then enable the whole diff to be 3 studs wide....
  12. Surely this could be done with a combination of a turntable and the 16tooth lego clutch gear with the teeth so it can link up to and old lift arm (or put a pin through a 24 tooth on any beam)
  13. I know the tyres provide the buoyancy - but surely after a while water will seep in and it may sink (but probably after some hours) you would have to glue or grease the tryres on the rim to stop air getting out and water getting in
  14. mineral oil could react with the rubber seals unless they are made for mineral oil systems (like on bike brakes, citroen hydraulic seals etc...)
  15. radial pumps maintain the pressure better.... http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/kclague/dual-hex-compressor/p9090172.jpg never seen anything like the citroen hydraulic pump done in lego though -
  16. "one day I will sell most of my duplicate lego parts on BL"
  17. try an RC motor for the compressor - I have never found it too weak for any purpose
  18. "i'll never make the model in the manual - i will use this set for parts only"
  19. Group B spirit captured in lego 99% for the extra 1% put the battery box in the middle under the seats and make it catch fire when it crashes....
  20. love the body work.... My chassis are great then I make the bodies look ugly....
