  1. At last a model that I just may have enough parts in the right colour to try and make....
  2. need to see all three together now - the original the mini and the micro version!
  3. If you use pullback motors and steering - you should make the steering super stiff or give it some geometry that make the wheels go straight when powered forwards...
  4. I'm thinking this one so far is my favourite...
  5. ...and lego isn't going to design parts that will make kids make flying machines that at best will damage ceilings/walls and worst damage poeple and pets.... are they?
  6. its great to see how the part limit is making people 'think outside the box'
  7. even more studless - (only 6 studs showing from 9 studded parts only) due to redesigned rear swing axles: (199 parts so far)
  8. Very nice indeed....but why not let others do similar flatbeds the more the merrier and it will make you either improve yours or change your entry completely. thats life - healthy competition
  9. I thiink with the rechargeable battery box and the buggy motor(s) and the right blades flight would be possible not controllable though..... and there is the good reason why lego won't make blades that give you lift so you can't sue them after causing a horrible accident when you made a quad copter and killed the family budgie
  10. The only thing that is impossible is the thing you never try to do
  11. And here is the 'more studless' version (well as studless as possible and keeping to 200 parts exactly) still very much a WIP: TrialTruck_v3.lxf
  12. really nice and might have to make that for my cat to play with video video video
  13. Seems fair but the competition theme is for a technic set 200 or less pieces and I cannot remember the last time we saw minifigs in official technic sets.... inclusion of minifigs could make it 'modelteam' which is not allowed in the rules... being minifig scale should be ok as many technic sets are in many scales - many of them in minifig scale...
  14. Thanks for the comments, I was wondering what the part count was for minifigs too? perhaps they're accesories to the main model so shouldn't count. if they do then I think I may have enough parts left over for one minifig then....
  15. UPDATE: Here it is in LDD - down to 194 parts and now featuring front pendular axle. (second axle stays stiff to stop model flopping over) It actually rolls very fast and keeps straight, steers very well with the progressive steering. Kids say its very playable due to minifigure scale and they are already planning mods for the back-end
  16. Mini TrialTruck Big step deciding to show you my w.i.p, my two small sons have been helping out currently trying to keep it down to 200 parts and less studful...(its over by a couple of pieces, including the minifigs) Got to throw some minifigs in there too... Features: Pendular rear suspension in two axes... Forward/back, left/right Progressive steering on the front two axles, front wheels steer more than the next set behind. HOG steering in the tailpipe, flip open front. All done from my 'spares' box - for some reason I do not have any right-angled connector elements in Black... not even in current models We'll see how this evolves and whether it will enter the competition or not (my sons want it to) but I know It ain't gonna win prizes but that is not the point in entering.... LXF file here -> TrialTruck_v3.2.lxf Please use, improve....and most importantly share, I want to see 20 variations of these in the competition
  17. I'd be interested to see how the steering works
  18. I just might have enough spare parts to build that one
  19. Buggy motors + IR receiver = tired legs keep it up - this Baja Style truck is amazing (i have two buggy motors, lots of ideas but not enough time)
