  1. Presentation is great - and i'm in no doubt you will make some changes as the deadline approaches
  2. Very nice indeed - not sure about the minifig scale broom and shovel in a non-minifig scale model but hey there are brooms and shovels in all sizes in the real world
  3. How about LPE power? the high rpms from even a 4 pneumatic cylinder engine - bad side it would need to be tethered for the continuous air supply
  4. if this does work - you could remove the screws and glue the backs back on - to save a few more grammes?
  5. Maybe after the competition I will look into motorising but with the 200 part limit i was concentrating on looks, and functionality for now I think is enough, steering, pendular suspension and adjustable seats and openable front part (not enough to win, but enough for me to think it would make a lego set, and I have the best testers in the world, my two sons...)
  6. This one so far is the only one I see as a set lego would produce....
  7. Thanks barman, perhaps I should try some different colour schemes out in LDD, truth is most of my spare parts are black or greys... For now here is the latest version, studless except for one 1x4 plate under one of the steering racks, only because its one piece, and using 2 half bushes instead would take the part count up to 201 Seats adjustable forwards/backwards with tilt now too adding to the functionality
  8. indeed too many blades make the cutting inefficient in real life but if lego were to make it a set and kids would buy it which one do you think they would use?
  9. nice - but I was kind of hoping it would have this blade: or this one but it has a round hole:
  10. how about something like this, its not too strong but perhaps you can improve the bracing:
  11. personally I think arduino is the way to go - but would be nice to use only lego... (mindstorms?) Have a look here: http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/arduino-vs-raspberry-pi-which-is-the-mini-computer-for-you/
  12. Mehari all the way a) i can't remember seeing one made in lego properly b) plenty of 2cv's done in lego to inspire you as the mehari has the same chassis/engine c) I am a citroen fan
  13. While I admire the technological advances in the 2nd and 3rd model - I like the 'look' of the first one best
  14. After spending most of the day trying to work out LDD to POV ray converter and the POV ray settings themselves, having my pc crash twice when almost finishing the render, eventually after leaving it running on a pc at work using 7 cores only (leaving the rest for the OS) that seemed to stop the crashing and this is the result... This is one crazy disease as I have now ordered most of the parts on bricklink so I can make this for the competition and photgraph it in pieces. will be my first LDD into real model ever... (even though the prototype at the very beginning began 'on the floor' so to speak) Latest studless LXF attached too
  15. I think you can use some 1x1 wedges and half pins to 'plug' the gaps and still make it under 200 parts for the competition the function is a bit limited but it does tip and roll....
  16. great to see a uni-wheeled vehicle for a change! does it have 200 parts or less?
  17. lovely little thing - but needs steering more than a bin I think....
  18. Does it have a rotating blade underneath?
  19. On mine the arms kept breaking off so perhaps that was another nail the coffin for them.....
  20. I find on 9392 (orange quad bike model) the faster you push it along the floor the straighter it goes - all due to the caster angle
  21. or a return to centre mechanism...... easily done with lego rubber bands and ball joints
