  1. what's next ? perhaps one of the 4wd white-elephants ? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Four-wheel_drive_in_Formula_One
  2. the front steering/suspension setup is so close to a real-life setup it makes the hairs on my neck standup!
  3. Third Party tyres is the way to go for any serious outdoor use - Plus being a purist it means you preserve the original ones for indoors like the manual says (ok so the wife doesn't like dirty tyre tracks in the house)
  4. They are soft but not too soft which is a bonus I think - I think its the foam they came with - they were very cheap perhaps thats why ....
  5. I recently ordered these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/141010516692 I hope they fit.... they are 4.25 x 1.45 x 1.9"
  6. Thanks, totally inspired by the front suspension of the beetle..... Well spotted
  7. On this MOC I made a while ago (for the suspension proof of concept and not for looks) I found it was quite soft on the springs and offered quite a bit of adjustment:
  8. Ok so originally it was a 9398 and not a 41999 - but here's Retro-Boss coming to say 'Hello' Planning on motorising the popup lights - dual function it with a winch and add the original v4 engine in it and power it from the drive-train some how (oh and get those blue seats back in too)
  9. I found my 8287 set in the discount section of a toy shop in my town not long ago for about €12... plus having one also on my 8421 = 2 to play with.... now to get them onto my 9398
  10. Thanks for the welcome.... I left the doors as it was just a trial fit - I would love to have the blue seats on there and the V4 engine in the back with the yellow fan
  11. A small mod Imade to my 9398 which seemed nicer in my mind than in reality, but should leave room for lots of extra features:
  12. Excellent little car... A school friend of mine had a real red 4x4 panda and it was unstoppable in the snow...
  13. nice mods indeed I remember I once added rear-steering and 3-steering mode gearbox to 8865 (I could not afford to buy 8880) MODE 1: Full 4WS MODE 2: Partial 4WS (a la 8880, back turns a little front turns a lot) MODE 3: CRAWL mode Of course there was plenty of room in 8865 to do these things...
  14. I can confirm my 9398 came with the new 6-hole shiny rims (no white detail of course) - very happy as these look better on the 9398 and there are already many after market tyres on the 41999 - so will just have to look out for ways this had been done...
