    i enjoyed building this model very much - while building it thought of so many other models I could build with it - started using it and have not taken it apart yet in 8 months its still too much fun...

    I think what is wanted is something that would switch between FWD or RWD or 4WD - if that was the application .... ?

    looking better with the non crawler tyres also would it be possible to change the 4w-Steering to front steering only ans this is what real defenders have and they have terrible turning circles anyway

    Increible Sheepo - siempre con boca abierta a tus creaciones..... amazing work - gearboxes are the brains of all mechanical systems.... I think sheepo has gears inside his head too

    Love the use of springs in the front suspension - it is purist as its the way lego showed off the suspension on 8860 on photos on the box (before they developed the shocks I suppose) I used similar in many mocs that required longer travel than the standard shocks and if you mix soft and hard springs you can customise the softness of the ride.

    I was going to buy a small battery box (rechargeable or AAA) and then remembered I have two of these 9V boxes, one black and one white somewhere.... !

    I suppose you could slip a vary small ball bearing in the hole to stop the 2L axle slipping into it Eitherway - we understand the concept... pretty neat

    Why is the left axle driving the ring gear and not the other pinion axle or is it the view obscuring the gear behind it?

    Tried something like this... I did this in studfull and its a bit messy I intend to test it studless 100% one day but haven't got round to it....

    Tatra's have been done too many times already - howabout a Pinzgauer ? Same tatra-esque setup but with portal axles too....

    First thoughts: "oh no not another front loader..." Now thoughts: "great parts donor...." pretty impressive, first Mercedes/Unimog, now Volvo - you know the next one is Landrover defender don't you ? Cuusso or not ? (especially since they stopped production the real defender)

    Nice - I tried something like this - not totally tatra but hey: Also this guy did something similar http://www.brickshel...y.cgi?f=472779 on a hotrod though and it shares the diff for each side of the car which could be done for pairs of wheels (and maybe improve traction even) I always wonder how the offset axles reach the wheels on the real life tatras? Do they offset them to the centre of the hubs? or use portal hubs or are the wheels on one side of the truck different on each side?
