  1. super little thing - don't think I will bother entering ....
  2. I think you should use ball joints and respective 6L rod instead of the red studded beam as there will be sideways movement due to the 4Ls on the other side - the longer those would be the more close to vertical their arc would be (see panhard rod design and implementation)
  3. I seem to have inherited a couple of these and their yellow toothed thin toothed pins: used in 30 sets no less - for spinner type funcionality - I have yet to find a use for them you would put this into it: in this configuration with a ripcord:
  4. KaDeWe is a must anyway (if only for the food hall on the top floor) - and its not far from the lego shop and if you are near the zoo - eat here: http://www.zurkneipe.de/ though anywhere in the area are some great eating houses
  5. should be no problem getting a very cheap latpop with a serial port on it running windows xp or earlier
  6. I don't think this piece is too useless - seen it used decorativley only though... usualy on engine covers, I used it on the rear of a motorbike once: (the front fork arms also a useless pieces?)
  7. use something like this in the centre drive shaft but with one side 'locked' all the time (for the rear wheels) then you can use a selector to also engage the front axle or not then using the larger ring or smaller ring you can achieve low or high ratio - but would require another selector I can't see how to do that with just one selector at the moment
  8. I always wondered why half tracks were called 'Kegresse' a quick wikipedia lookup and now I know and want to share with you that Adolphe Kégresse was a French military engineer, inventor of the half-track and the dual-clutch transmission. Worked for Tsar Nicholas and Citroen.
  9. Please feel free to make changes - it does need improving - its just something I came up with quickly....move the lower arm out a bit, the top ones in, mount it at an angle etc... you won't learn something if its given to you on a plate - take it apart - improve it.... learn it
  10. yes its steerable for ackerman change the design as you please.... gives good ground clearance but not too much travel though.
  11. have a look at the front of the subaru wrx that was on here recently I played around with this recently and could be quite close to centrepoint steering if you use a large enough wheel hub (but technic wheels tend to have 'unkind' offsets for this
  12. sure looks nicer than my attempt at the 8260 alternative model
  13. nice to see a 'small' car (with a big heart) from Sheepo.... well done dude - the correct front suspension is a joy to see but please get one of these for your gearbox stickers.... I have one and its great for MOC stickers http://www.amazon.co.uk/Polaroid-Digital-Photo-Printer-Technology/dp/B001APNVTQ
  14. bad mocs are just prototypes - proof of concepts that work or dont work - thats how we learn to make better mocs I made a 4WS version of 8865 - with a gearbox on the steering that enable full 4WS, Crawl mode and 'Honda Prelude' mode (slight steer at the rear) because I couldn't afford 8880 - it looked and drove awful and the steering arms kept falling off at the back
  15. was always into technic... For me it was when I left home to go to University in another country up until my kids were old enough to be interested in lego (luckily very soon in their lives) - this was around the early mid-1990s when the 8880 throguh to 8421 came out which I would have bought for sure... but as I was at university in another country to mine travelling back and forth buying large lego was out of the question (still got some small sets) I grew out of it but still ocasionally played with my really old technic sets. the dark ages really came when I discovered classic cars and watch repair and spent more time taking watch movements apart and real cars instead having then had kids eventually brought me back - has taken me a while to get used to studless design my brain still thinks in studs
  16. an idea I tried for front suspension: (looks rubbish in LDD but I tried in real life and all clicks and fits into place ok....)
  17. 8464/8459/8439 - I think mine is 8439 though..... two diffs, fake engine air tank and three pneumatic cylinders... studded and studless marriage in the right proportions except it has a large rear (which I have shortened on mine)
  18. If i was wearing a hat I would take it of right now....
  19. performance is pretty good with the Lego Li-po battery but partly due to the weight saving too I only recently bought a rechargeable box to try on the 9398 previously with the large battery box I use 1.2v rechargeables anyway so the voltage is very similar though with 6 new 1.5v alkalines ts goes great but not for long as you will waste them wanting to play with it all the time...
  20. sheepos truck is amazing - clever use of height correctors.... i don't think anyone can ever top this - one should stick to the 8297 method of height adjustment its very compact and does the job
