  1. anti roll bars would be an absolute requirement if using Hydraulic suspension setup Citroen suspension is also self - levelling - i've yet to see that set-up in lego...! (the system would have to run at constant even pressure and at least the front cylinders connected to rear in some way [i.e. push the front, the back gets affected]- adding removing air is what adjusts the height)
  2. on two separate occasions I have found a Box full of mixed used Lego left beside the garbage - my wife says I can 'smell' lego now from far away recently got 9398 crawler off play.com with box damage (it was slightly open, nothing missing) for under 100€ (including courier delivery in 2 days!)
  3. if Lego use it so often in official sets then it cannot be illegal - bad for your teeth yes, illegal no: (this one from set 4093)
  4. its about time lego brought out some helical gears....
  5. Love the boxer engine and the rear anti roll bars....
  6. seems to have 'shaved' a bit off the edges of the RC motors to get them to fit (saw one of the development pictures) not so standard lego but well worth it for the results..!
  7. Nice, was wonderng when something like that was going to come out.... I have two rc motors waiting - but need some more battery boxes and IR receivers by the look of it.... any LXF files of it anywhere?
  8. Nevermind the video.... forget the picture on the left also look at the photo on the right and assume the tube parts have 'teeth' at the end... this gives you a tube that can be driven by the standard 16z round hold gear wheel with teeth (the old type) or imagine some other custom part setup.... that is all the custom parts you would need to make this sort of inline diff: The tube and the gear on the end of it have to move as one... inside the brown one spins independantly on the cross axle, the rest is the diff mechanism and note the largest gear does not go onto the axle, it would be driven from the left or its teeth
  9. Taken ... But this is what I meant https://www.youtube....h?v=E_y5QkFoV8s for those who are already too bored to continue on the gears most wanted thread...
  10. I think we can use the tube and the gears from this drawing (ignore the other parts) in 100% lego it can only be done like this: https://www.youtube....h?v=E_y5QkFoV8s
  11. If you use it off road and in dirt and outside shouldnt matter - (having a fixed axle is like locking a diff you need it sometimes) turning circle will be pants though
  12. I was thinking more how you did your 4wd hotrod http://www.brickshel...y.cgi?i=5316315 Maybe some combination of the tube on the right and the 16z technic gear with the 'teeth' from this picture will achieve a diff with only the tube and the cage needing to be custom?
  13. always room for a diff, efferman did it on his slightly larger scale but similar hot rod http://www.brickshel...y.cgi?i=5316315 The Ipad app and the inclusion of a 'parts box' seems to me TLG is going to be doing away with instruction booklets on perhaps for now the technic series.... this way they save loads of money, they will probably offer printed manuals free but on request only - that way they still save money and to not feel like they are taking something away from you they are including the small parts box....
  14. Tatra only had up to an aircooled V12 engine....
  15. wow! nice - very nice.... this way you can put a differential longitudonally on top - impossible to do it inline unless using custom hollow axles and gears - thats another story
  16. You could use the diff to balance the power from the two L motors to the central axle - then it would not be a centre diff but you would ahave a diff in the centre....
  17. i agree realistic tatra suspension is very challenging with 100% original lego but I have managed to put the differential in line albeit above the pivots and using the same pivot point... its far neater to use almost tatra like suspensions Basically like Nico71's elegant solution but with split central axle and diff on top (lockable too) but look at the pinzgauer from underneath...... so want to do it in lego but maybe with custom parts....
  18. I was hoping the end of the Landrover Defender would spawn an offical set but sadly the reaction to the sheepo's one seems to indicate otherwise.... This year is 80 years of the Citroën Traction Avant.... a nice large classic car done in studless lego wouldn't be amiss...
  19. a Pinzgauer, with particular attention to the tatra-like tube chassis and portal hubs:
  20. superb chassis and instantly recognizeable as an audi.... all it needs is quattro motion
  21. I use the lid or the orange brick separator - but I have to say the strip of plastic is an excellent Idea I don't know why I never thought of it even though this method is used in many other devices... Also Depends on the batteries - my current set of unbranded rechargeable 2350maH 1.2 volts seem thinner and easier to takeout than say duracell ones...
  22. Legal, similar to 3mm flexible hose used for curves in axle holes too....

  24. driving down the road in a group of bikers - I think it was Honda based looked like this perhaps - home made maybe but definately not Front wheel drive
