  1. Giving the product needs to meet child toy regulations, and they could potentially put them into their mouths, I reckon you should be good in a fish tank. Some of those early 1950's bricks.......I'm not so sure what chemicals may have been in the plastics/ABS/celulite they were made from....
  2. Any dragster powered by just a medium motor and 50 - 60cm long, I fear the Wheelie function might be a little disappointing, there is no way the motor has the power to make it wheelie, so it must have some mechanical advantage which will lift the front wheels off the ground? maybe a hidden thrid wheel?
  3. I totally love those old vintage 80's boxes, and the way the plumes were supplied on the spur (or whatever the correct term is) Nice review
  4. These Mixels are just brilliant, love the Pirate ones, and the music ones, the drum kit is cool.
  5. I'm liking the 60111 and 60112 (Fire Utility vehicle and Fire Ladder Truck), the speed boat is ok, but as for the rest……I'm hoping the Great Vehicles sets help to boost things a bit. That Prisson island had real potential, but it's just another police station with a few rock pieces around it. For me it's just a shame we cannot purchase that hot air balloon as a stand alone set yet. The large Fire Boat hull has potential for conversion into an Anchor Handling vessel, but that is about it. I was hoping to see the Car Ferry, hopefully that image will be available soon
  6. I love the idea of money laundering, really funny story line I'm a little unsure why they are hoisting a washing machine up to the bank managers window, a little bit odd. But overall, I love the set and it will be a nice addition, best news we have had in months, Paul And great job Jamie for continuing "No Stickers" policy on Modulars, I think we are all happy to pay a couple of pound/euros/dollars more to not have these.
  7. I saw this model at the show on Saturday morning, it really is even more impressive in real life. I'll get around to posting my pictures from the show at some point.
  8. Just wondered if anyone is going along this year. Usually a well attended UK show. I'll post pictures later from my trip Paul
  9. I have a creation which needs exactly that part. Good job LEGO!
  10. I think it was a special curve, which had some purpose like a ferrite ring, to suppress high frequency noise in electronic circuits. But it could also be the curve where you connect the 12v input from the regulator to the track? All mine like that have the cable wired and coming from the piece, but it's not to say there were not other designs.
  11. I'm struggling to find these in a shop near me that does not have them behind the counter, in order that I can feel the packets. Went to my local toy shop today, they had the poster, but none anywhere obvious in the shop. I'm wondering if some shops are holding these back until October ready for Halloween?
  12. Personally I'd pay a premium to have printed pieces, however, I'd also be happy with stickers like the ones from the 80's. They are all still on my sets, and should I warm up the bricks, they peel off and can be repossitioned. I would rather Lego go back to this type of stickers if we are to have them at all. I try not to apply the current stickers on my sets.
  13. Anyone in the UK looking to pick up 3 of these beauties, Argos has 3 for 2 on Toys until Tuesday. The last few years this offer has been a challenge looking for 3 of the big sets in one store, but they have introduced a new fast track, I was lucky enough to find a store that had 2 in stock, and the 3rd could be delivered into store. With an extra £10 off voucher, I've got 3 of these sets for £329.98 - £110 each, Boxes were in usual Argos battered condition and covered in stickers, but now just have to restrain my self until Christmas!
  14. 3 for 2 on Toys at Argos runs out on Tuesday 29th October!
  15. They are unfortunately getting a bit repetitive, espectially as they always head down to the route of cops and robbers, it would be nice to see them come up with a different overall theme, re-focus on the holiday time, but at least you get a santa ;-) Paid £16 for mine at Smyths toys during their 20% weekend.
  16. Flowers are one of the few parts which there are always plenty of them in the pick a brick bins, seeing how to construct these trees, is really cool.
  17. I played around with making a 6 wide hook truck a couple of years ago, but it ended up needing the central part of the truck to be 3 studs wide, and I did not have the parts to hand, so I sidelined it. Maybe this is some inspiration to try again. There are some nice bits in your design.
  18. Epic museum, love the exhibits and displays, it would be great if LEGO seriously made a set like this.
  19. There was a blue vehicle and caravan in one of those clips, there was a new caravan set next year I think? Wonder if this is 60117 Vans and Caravan? There is also a nice little TV camera man, that would make a nice little polybag next year. Actually, I guess it is, the number plate matches the set number
  20. Looks more like an advert for LEGO ideas to me……but we live in hope.
  21. This is so great, word do not do this justice. I think those new brick 1x2 elements actually add a lot to the look of sets, I just wish you could buy them in bulk from pick a brick in store, but I've never been lucky enough to find them.
  22. I like lots of themes, however space is becoming more and more of an issue, I still collected modulars, technic and trains, but city sets are now needing to be unique for me to add these to the collection, there is just no space left!
  23. Now that is a smart bit of engineering, nice job.
  24. I think it somewhat detracts from the overall look of the tram, and it is limiting for passengers, but I understand the limitations you face. I personally think the MODs people did to the blue tram, adding an extra section in the middle for the PF components is more practable.
  25. Following last years show, I'm hoping they have a real life Merc Grab truck on display, with the Lego version alongside! Last years show was impressive, it was just so packed with kids, it was hard to see any of the exhibits, I felt it needed an adults only time after hours where the AFOLs could get to look around.
