  1. Maybe just indicating the size of a brick for scale purposes?
  2. Very interesting, but quite a stange declaration they are making.
  3. I can't tell you how to fix it, but from experience, I often find I miss the odd part during larger builds, and after traipsing through the instructions, I find you can usually dismantle the model in chunks, rather than peace by piece. Just start around the area you need and logically pull apart the big pieces. You may even be able to get to the gearbox within a couple of minutes, and squeeze that cog in. I too missed a cog on the crawler crane, and the gearbox only worked in one direction, so I know the feeling.
  4. This BWE model is so out of context for Lego, to me it almost feels like the Volvo and the Class and the Porshe are the regular technic sets and the BWE is an online exclusive for the AFOL market, I just can't see the bricks and mortar shops stocking it. I hope they do, but can you imagine the conversation, Child: Daddy, what is that? Parent: I don't know…….. Child: Is it a BWE? Parent: Walks away quickly…... Fair play to Lego for releasing this set, but I do have my concerns that they might be in the discount bin in years to come.
  5. I think this is the set of the year for me, great features, especially the steering, I can overlook the crane, as I can see many just building their own attachments for this beast. And those wheels, wow, Colours all look great to boot. Again I'm a little worried about the B model, could not quite make out whether the guy demonstrating the product said the B model was a Sewage processing plant or a sewage pump? either way, a little odd when it comes to the B model.
  6. I'm starting to think the Technic set designers have lost the plot? It's massive, nice, but it's features appear limited? for the price tag? and the B model, an "Agregate Processing Plant" just want every 16 year old wants!
  7. Nothing to do with me, and I only own the balloon cart and Mixer set. I'm still on the fence with the ferris wheel, I really wanted the set to fold down so it could be transported on a truck, but thats another subject, There is a clear view of the ferris wheel and mixer in this u tube video, you can probably imagine the balloon cart as it's quite small Paul
  8. I'd hoped for a little more details from the Brickset crew, most of us could have estimated the colours of the Volvo and the Class, all seemed a little vague when it comes to Technic, seemed like more details on the City lineup. Never mind, another couple of days is not going to hurt us. I'm still amazed we have not seen the usual leaked prelim pictures this year. Lego has done a great job on keeping them secret this year. I do think the leaking of prelim pictures gives the forums a good discussion topic over the glum winter months, and can help to build the hype for a product, but I can understand why they would want to protect these from their competition and the risk of the product being slated by the forum members. (edit) I've re-read the Brickset news again, maybe they shead a fair bit of detail and I was being a little harsh on them.
  9. I keep every box as well, however 95% of mine are flat packed in the loft, as I'm running out of space! I did make the mistake back in the 80's of cutting up the front and back of the old town sets and just keeping those parts. What a mistake when I look back at this!
  10. it looks to be like a promo given away when you take out a morgage with Equifax, similar sets in the past have been offered from McDonalds (drive Through), the Velux house, etc. Sets not really main stream. Definately odd that the box does not really indicate Lego, only the Instructions. Other than that, it looks like the sort of thing they may give away to new employees at Lego so they can test they can build a basic structure? Less likely, but you never know. Maybe Lego Historian will be along at some point to shed some light on it? Athough he has been quiet on the forum for a while.
  11. That Christmas set is a thing of beauty! Most likely be the promo when you spent a certain amount, quite surprised that has leaked this early,
  12. I too am hoping for the continuation of the amsuement sub-theme. I'm actually hoping they alternate, one year a travelling ride, the next year a statis ride, and so on. I'd like to see a waltzer, dodgems, gravity wheel, etc.
  13. I like to mix all the bags up, finding the parts is all part of the fun of the build, especially with a large Technic set. I don't want to spend £100+ and the set is built in 2-3 hours. I want the experience to last.
  14. To clarify, you mean like the retail boxes the sets come in (like you buy in a shop)? Are the boxes full of bricks or empty, therefore just for display? I'm thinking some kind of thin elastic or fishing line around the corners, tied to a central point which you could hand on a nail on the wall? A bit like putting ribbon around a present, but using fishing line so its almost invisible?
  15. For anyone that's a VERY catalogue customer in the UK, they just sent existing customers a £50 off voucher in the post when you spend £100. The heavy lift helecopter had a list price of £100 and it turned up today. Unfortunately, I've checked and the code can only be used by the person it was sent to, otherwise I'd happily share it.
  16. Shop at home take telephone orders as well, can you not just ring them?
  17. Odds on the Volcano research sets including a helicopter………….guaranteed!
  18. I clicked the link, with fairly low expectations of a naff tree with a platform for a treehouse, how wrong I was! Awesome detail, lover the way you've built the ladder. Not to mention all the different angles you've achieved with the leaves on the tree. quality build
  19. 2 10 11 14 26 26 had to get a vote, it's definately the first and probably last sewage treatment works we will see built from Lego.
  20. So we do get a new Lego train in 2016 Courtesy Brickset.
  21. Nice truck, welcome to eurobricks
  22. Here's hoping the manual is held together better than the one supplied with ecto 1. Reminds me Lego never did replace that manual! Nice set, I saw it at Brick 2015 a couple of weeks ago, and it was impressive, although I don't think I'll be getting it. I don't think I can justify it. Paul
  23. As a stationary set, this looks amazing, although at that speed, it all just becomes a blur, the minifigs will be very sick! And I'm not convinced about the rocking motion? But it's certainly got me thinking about what the next Lego carnival/fair ride could be, maybe a pirate ship ride? or waltzer?
  24. Says it's now used.
  25. Nice little layout you have there. That blue train carriage is also quite rare as it was only sold in the USA as part of your steamer set, I've built one for my collection, and the windows cost me a small fortune! Nice Paul
