I'd like to see a classic brown baseplate to compliment the range, and maybe white as well. I think the tan baseplate is a great step forward, for beaches or deserts, but I can't see why they would end the blue, from memory, this is not the first time they obsoleted the blue plates, and then they came back, so hopefully next year they will change again.

Β£25 GBP spend for the UK -
There will always be someone on ebay who turns up with the train earlier than anyone else, they are usually from a country where LEGO has a factory, not sure if this is a conincidence or notβ¦.. :-) But I reckon your not far of with your speculation, or Mid July / Early August for the train with Technic following on in August. I always base it around the release of the Argos catalogue in the UK, when that comes out, the LEGO is usually available to. This would be around 3 week of July from memory

Maybe I'm blind, but I cannot clearly see the motor either, so maybe the motor in the b model is also in the cab/tractor unit and you connect an air line between the trailer and the tractor as you would a real truck?

So to clarify, is the rotation of the crane on the Arocs PF or Pneumatic? I'd convined myself it was PF, but it looks like it rotates very smoothly like pneumatics? especially the way the LEGO guy demos in the above video, he just pulls the crane back round to the side at the end of the video, I'm not sure you could do this with PF, surely the Cogs would not allow this? But I only see 4 pneumatic switches, and I count 4 pneumatic functions on the crane arm itself. So PF it surely has to be? either way, I'm looking forward to this one for Christmas 2015, and the B model is just as nice.

A helicopter on a Train? Really? I guess the sky's above LEGOLAND are so crowded with all the other Helicopters, it's safer to transport them by Train now instead. This is a real shame, and I agree with everyone else, it baffles me why they can't do a cargo Train that's not in the Primary colour scheme of Red/Yellow/Blue. On a positive, I like the backhoe. I wonder if it will come with some trackside additions, or whether they will keep the price point sub Β£99

What kind of budget do you set?
paul_delahaye replied to TheLegoViking's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I always keep an eye open for the best price, or 2 for 1 offer, but it's best not to budget or add upβ¦β¦.It would make the sensible part of my mind stop me doing what I love doing which is building and collecting sets. -
Custom chrome lego? your opinion.......

One of the European bricklink sellers was offering this service, I have not sent him the parts yet, but he had no issues, would just charge for the process and return postage. -
I don't see how anyone cannot like Wall-E, this is a good step forward in my eyes, I see it being a big seller if they get it right.

At one point it was all something to do with representing a real sized model on the box, the model gets bigger, so did the box. but from an Adult collectors point of view, I wish the boxes were compact and easier for me to store. I actually think for children there must be a certain amount of disappointment when they open the box and it's full of air, Here is a great example of over packaging, ironically it's a great setβ¦β¦but when you open the box, there was a certan level of ohhh. Then you open the box and β¦β¦β¦. Now when it comes to big sets, I tend to wait until there is an offer, and pick them up on 3 for 2 or 20% discount so it's a better deal. I do think LEGO right now is at the top of their game, probably better than ever when you look at the offerings and the number of new sets released each year. I know they must spend loads on market research and price points. The problem is, I remember what I used to pay for these large sets when I was young, and I compare to that. Β£10 pocket money each week seems to me a lot for a child, but think what Β£10 buys now? It's an interesting topic

I wonder if LEGO customer services will sell the new pneumatic cylinders, or whether they will claim these are part of a licenced set, and as such are not available , like the old Orange panels of the MB Unimog?

The way the crane rotates in the video, looks to be pneumatic as well. I kind of expected that feature to work off the motor? I've watched again, I take that back. It must be motorised. And there are only 4 pneumatic switches and there are 4 pneumatic functions on the boom alone so it can't be

Yes, they cost me a fortune when I built my extra 3 carriages, not quite as much as I ended up spending on blue 3x2 train windows, but nearly as bad. Annoying as LEGO customer services were selling them really cheap at one point, but some enterprising Bricklinkers kindly purchased all the inventory from LEGO so they could make a nice profit. I'm just sitting here hoping LEGO don't bring out a train anytime soon with Tan 4 x 3 windows or Blue 2 x 3 windows, otherwise I've spent all that money for nothing! (The Bricklinkers must also be hoping this does not happen) lol, the joy of LEGO.

Although you say that, in Huh's report on Brickset, he mentioned the 3 Summer Technic sets in his review as being part of the London Toy Show? I can't comment, as I've never been, but he kind of indicated they were there?
-
We will all be some very disappointed Technic fans if they impliment the same security policy as the London show, never say never, I know we have always had pictures from this show before, but likewise, we have always had prelim leaked images around the net before, but this year they have tightened down massively.

I agree, I wish they had either offered it in an alternative colour scheme, or even just with different stickers. From my memory, 8041 is one of the few sets I've applied the stickers to, as it looks like a complete colour mis-mash without them If I read correctly, the only difference is the wheels on this one are a slightly different version?
-
I'm hoping they don't go for partially manual stabilisers, I hope they opt for a similar design to the 42009 crane from two years ago.
-
lol, I guess it all depends on whether I remember to use all the parts in the set!
