  1. Your design definately made me laugh, so good job in that respect. I don't get how it's assembled wrong, as long as you used a 3L pin, I don't see the assembly failure.
  2. Yo've done a really nice job on this, for me the only thing missing is a little bit of animation, but I realise how difficult this is without lifting the entire set several bricks higher off the ground which will ruin the design.
  3. I see a competition in the making, who finishes the history of Lego Technic first, Eric or Lego It's a nice start on their history, I just hope they don't give up with it.
  4. I think 4 of those spiderman bridge battle sets together would make a lovely Brooklyn Bridge. I just can't justify the expense, but it's a great set.
  5. I don't understand why they would remake this set? Very strange decision
  6. First thing that came to mind was how hard these will be to feel up, no unique body parts, no unique hair pieces or accessories. Talking about accessories, I expected every one to come with a football!
  7. That's brutel, why would anyone do this?
  8. I like your remote, however it looks like the steering wheel would not work in full speed ahead or full speed reverse. The angle of that universal joint, appears to be locked at that angle? Paul
  9. I see some potential for a hamster treadmill with only minor amendments.
  10. Running a warehouse, it's always great to see these recreated in bricks, I love your models, although the next step must be a reach truck rather than a counter balance Great job
  11. I've been purchasing flags from TT for a couple of years now, and I've yet to see a Technic flag listed, but they are also on my wish list. They appear to be rarer than chickens teeth.
  12. Looks like the old Lego signposts from the 80's once you had stood on them and the sign part had broken off, I have a load of them upstairs.
  13. I guess this is one of those things we are never going to know. However in the Technic line, I have this feeling that many of the brands represented would be flattered to have their product built as a Lego model, no doubt all the senior managers at Porsche would need to be given a copy of the set free of charge and there would obviously be some Legal costs in making the agreement between the 2 companies, but apart from that, I'd like to think that these companies are happy to have Lego promote their brand for them. There is always the question, which brand is bigger and more recognisable worldwide? I'd argue it's Lego giving there is 94 lego bricks for every person on the earth, so maybe Porsche should be paying them to make a model of their car. Maybe there are no great costs involved apart from time of Porsche engineers/designers working with Lego. Who knows, maybe it will come out one day at a fan event with one of the designers. You have to recall with the Volvo licence, one of the Lego designers had a friend who worked at Volvo, which pushed the project forward. Paul
  14. I think this might be the best use I've seen for those pesky Minifig bases that I've seen to date, beautiful model.
  15. Super prizes, just a shame I'm completely incapable of using the design tools despite several attemps. I just don't have the patience, but look forward to seeing what folks come up with.
  16. As per many, I collected as a child, went through a dark age around 1991 aged 13, but kept all my bricks in my parents loft, about age 21, my girlfriend got me back into Lego by buying me a set for Christmas, and I've not looked back, I now have a healthy collection, and a lack of space to store it all! She probably regrets it now!
  17. I confirm, having driven a 12m scissor lift at full height, they are very wobbly, look forward to seeing your progress, and definately one I've been waiting for Lego to produce for a while. There were early ideas on the back of some of the expert builder sets in the 78 - 80's era. but not a lot since.
  18. I've got my original set in pieces at the moment, awaiting deep cleaning! It's been a labour of love, but it's one of only 4 sets I've still got to clean, check, replace broken/chewed parts and reassemble. I always had issues with the gearbox on mine, but I don't the amount of dust on it really helped the gears mesh smoothly! Others are my original tractor 851 (needs quite a few replacement period parts) and 2 copies of the 8851 excavator to complete and I'm done!
  19. lol, I'm way behind the party on this one, but I've just seen Fat Alice…..I'm not sure what to say Completely disappointing they wasted any time on the alien and another buzz, there was no need. As everyone said, pluto would have been far better. I personally would have liked to see Winnie the Pooh/Tigger/Eeyore/Piglet, I know they are not current in Kids minds as there is no current film, but I think that part of the Disney brand is timeless.
  20. I'm so on the fence about this one, I loved the Mixer set, I liked the way it packed up ont on to the vehicles, but I keep looking at this ferris wheel, deliberating on whether to commit or not, and I know I'm going to regret it if I don't buy it, I'm just worried about size and storage! but it's a great set and I really hope Jamie has another fairground set planned for this year! although it's a little quiet on that front currently…. Double points this weekend might be enough to push me to spend on this set!
  21. Thank you, arrived in the UK yesterday. I saw the package on the side and thought it was some boring nuts and bolts I'd ordered on ebay, what a pleasent surprise! Paul
  22. Great interview, I watched it all and I love the quips and comments you added. Dropping the hint for a new train was nice. Really put them in the spot about future models, I guess we new the answer, but always good to ask. Totally agree about the base plates, old sets like castles were built on base plates and they hinged open to allow play. I don't accept his answer based on this. I suspect the truth is more related to cost of production of the base plates and they make more profit if they don't use them, but they are not going to disclose that, it could also be that by using regular 16x16 plates the build is stronger when picked up, the old base plates flex a little. I think it's 100% likely when we get a new ferry in 5 years time it will now have a ladder, good job Paul
  23. I used to use those, but with about 20 of them, it became a pain trying to find the one that had the correct brick I needed in it.
  24. I love the travelling fairground sets so much, after the release of the fixed ferris wheel last year, (I'm so undecided whether to get that one). I'm very much hoping Lego come out with a travelling fairground set again this year, and a design like yours would be ideal. I like the simple but effective mechnanics you have built into this set. Paul
  25. So it looks like Legoland is branching out to the Middle East, sorry to link to a trashy newspaper, http://www.dailymail.co.uk/travel/travel_news/article-3474749/The-ultimate-desert-playground-Model-Dubai-s-2-8billion-theme-park-extravaganza-100-attractions-unveiled.html
