  1. http://shop.lego.com/Product/?p=8144 Might not be the best set in the world but a good source of parts
  2. Got all 3 sets at Legoland windsor yesterday. Having now completed the build of all three, more pleased with the Cement mixer than the Recycle truck, I notice they are not a great fit within the new service station. (Too tall and too wide) On a more positive note the Cement Truck and Recycle Truck were only

  4. Probably a repeat that everyone has seen but me. Just seen an advert on National Geographic in the UK advertising the show called "How it Works" on this coming Saturday they are showing an afternoon of how it works and in one of the shows is showing how Lego mini figs are made.
  5. This is a very, very rare day in Lego history. I think what we are saying here is the UK is the cheapest place to buy a PAB minifig at a cost of only

  8. Following my visit to the park last weekend to renew my annual pass I decided to snap some pictures of the progress of the new Viking Themed area of the park. As you can see from the pictures, Legoland appear to have employeed the same team of builders used on the New Wembley Stadium. Who knows if it will ever be finished for this season? In all fairness they were working on Saturday! I notice the hedge maze does not appear to have changed much from the old hedge maze. A few new bushes, a lick of paint and a new sign I guess? A couple of random facts about the ride: * It will take 150 hours to fill the ride with water * More than 60 Viking themed models on display, made from 2 million bricks * The ride features a troll wash, when buckets of water are tipped from a 4 meter height * 1300 people per hour will use the ride * Park capacity will increase by 15% (unfortunately the queue out of the car park on a busy day will also increase by 15%) *The flume is 400meters long * There will be a dragon made of 189420 bricks with a 6 meter wingspan towering over the ride * The Viking theme was chosen through research and collaboration with Legoland Windsor guests (Strange, as a annual pass holder for the last 3 years I was not consulted)? Please enjoy my couple of pictures, you should be able to see the layout of the new Viking water ride on the second picture. Can't wait to see it finished. Edit: Resized the pics. Click pics for larger version.

  11. Received a letter through the post saying my annual pass had expired when it does not run out for another month. Anyway, still went along to the first official open day of the new season at Legoland Windsor on Saturday. My general observations, little has changed, a large part of the part is a building site where they are putting in the new ride. In general I just feel all that has changed is the prices in the shops. They seem to be milking customers severly. for example. * Pick a Brick -

  14. I went to the Lego shop in Kingston (UK) today and and found it to almost to contain no Lego. I Spoke with the employees and they said they just wern't making enough money to pay the rent to the Bentalls centre, so it is being closed. Officially it is closing next Wednesday but they don't have enough stock so they are closing as of today, Saturday. This is tragic as the nearest lego shop is now 60 miles from me, I am truely gutted. I think with all the new sets this year I have probably spent more than I have ever spent on Lego in a year. This also may not be a good sign for anyone who has a Lego shop loyality card or gift vouchers. They have closed one shop, it may be worth spending the vouchers sooner rather than later if you get my drift..... It is a gloomy day even though it is nearly 30 degrees :'-(
