Interesting. I like the use of the monster fighter heads - they fit well. The twin pirates are ok I guess. The lack of weapons is a shame though, but all in all it is not a bad set. And it is good to see the 'return' of the pirates theme.

What is Your Favorite Wave 2 LotR Set?
KristofBD replied to Deathleech's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Overall this wave was less enthusing than the first one. The Elrond minifig was great, but the set itself felt too basic (good parts though). The Orthanc tower is nice and would get my vote, but comes nowhere near to Uruk Hai or Helm's deep. The ship was a nice build, but not really special. Overall I think the Black gate surprised me most and I loved the Gandalf fig, so that got my vote.- 25 replies

The figs are simply gorgeous, the the buildings are indeed very bland... Especially the interiors! It looks like we will get the gothic arch in brown? I also love the printed shields on the boat (and we get two of them!)

Thanks for the info, sand mirror. I actually think Azog does not look that bad in tan. But white will be ok as well. I hope they find a solution for the arms - that's the only thing that is really bothering me about the fig.

Love the Blues Brother! The barbarian is ok, and the grandma is a good addition... though her face is indeed a bit creepy! -
Review Review: 21103 Back To The Future Time Machine
KristofBD replied to Rufus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Excellent review! Comparing the Lego version to the CUUSOO version is the true test and indeed I agree with you that the CUUSOO version is less appealing from all sides but the front.- 207 replies

Indeed, the new info also convinces me that this is actually quite a good set. I might even buy it... -
Very nice, simple but clever use of the bricks...

Very nice set! If they can do this, they can make a proper Lord of The Rings Rivendell set as well Seriously though, it is indeed a bit too expensive for non Star Wars fans, but I can appreciate its beauty nonetheless. Impressive number of minifigs by the way...

Brilliant work! Love the tower, the colour scheme and the smart use of the bricks. Keep on doing the good job!
