  1. Well, as a historic themes fan, this is actually an extremely cheap year: No Western theme (2013), no Pirates (2015) and only one wave of the Hobbit (with no D2C set). The only non-historic set I just could not resist was the Parisian Restaurant (one of the best sets ever imho). So I guess it depends on what themes one is most interested in: this is not a golden year for all Lego fans. To me 2012 and 2013 were far more expensive (and better).
  2. Good job! The walls and the roof are fantastic, but also: the general atmosphere feels very lively! Excellent job!
  3. Yes, if the second wave did poorly, that's most likely because the sets were far weaker than the ones from the second wave. Plenty of potential left, e.g. Gondorian Army Builder
  4. Well no wave, that is as most of us expected. I'm happy we get a Witch King and Galadriel in The Hobbit sets though. And let's hope there will still be a final D2C set. Who knows...
  5. Very strong series indeed! Loving the dino tracker, battle goddess and Swashbuckler!
  6. Great work!! Love all the details and the background information!
  7. Brilliant work! I especially love the water and the trees.
  8. I tend to agree with Bachamn: this seems to be a very nice dragon that more than reasonably resembles movie Smaug. If you had not pointed me to the three spikes, I actually would not have noticed it... I agree with your Bolg and Bain criticisms, but I am very happy with this Smaug version. Besides, LEGO is not about perfect accuracy, I mean this is LEGO: it has studs, it is blockish, obviously it is not a perfect match!
  9. Well I will be very happy if they use this design for Bolg. The Azog design is just ugly and non-lego I find.
  10. Same here. Window frames are very clever!
  11. Very nice!! Loved the bear the most :)
  12. Some excellent building techniques! Especially the plants and roofs are gorgeous! Very nice...
  13. The front was actually far sturdier than it looks, so that wasn't really the problem. It was the connection clips on the sides that were too small and tight. The rest of the delivery was very good by the way.
  14. The connection was too tight.
  15. I just received my package today, very good service indeed! The halberd is truly brilliant: Perfect for Uruk Hai. The body armour is ok, though unfortunately only few hair pieces fit on top of it, well at least not the ones I was hoping to use on my Lurtz. The tassets for the legs is the least attractive: it broke after applying only twice...
  16. Brilliant work!
  17. Excellent work! The windows are indeed fantastic!
  18. Wooow these interiors are fantastic! Well done!
  19. Well, I'm definitively most looking forward to the Lake Town set. Would be great to get some more inhabitants of the town! I have to admit though, I'm not that much of an Elf or Dwarf fan, so that probably explains my preference
  20. Regarding the Witch king, I just hope we get the Witch King's battle helmet. Man, that would be great. Small chances, but who knows... Edit - 500th post
  21. Congrats! Very nice entry indeed. I think what I find best is your idea: this is highly original work. Next to that there are plenty of nice little bits in the build that are very clever. The ice sculptures themselves and the tree stand out to me!
