  1. I have a brand new, still sealed, guaranteed 100% accurate Simpsons series 1 set that I'd like to trade for a series 2 set (open/complete is OK). No longer interested.
  2. http://www.bricklink.com/store.asp?p=nine09nueve I have a BIG collection of goblin bits for sale - at the cheapest or almost cheapest world prices! Please help me shift these bits so I can buy more stuff (can't buy more until I make some cash) Much Love D
  3. I did not want to make an actual poll because I'm actually hoping to hear your ideas about themes I may not have thought of. So, if TLG insists on making themed CMF series anyway, what themes would you want, and it would be cool to list at least a few of the figures you'd like to see from those. To make it more fun, if you don't want to stick to viable themes, just go ahead and do anything. I can name a bunch of themes I'd like, but in the interest of leaving it up to discussion, I'll just throw out this mostly(*) unviable one: Horror: Michael Myers (Halloween) Freddy Krugger (Nightmare on Elm Street) Jason Voorhees (Friday the 13th) Alien (Alien) Chucky (Child's Play) Ash (Evil Dead 2) Jack Torrence (The Shining... he'd need a Jack Nicholson crazed face and an axe) Shaun (Shaun of the Dead) The Fly Max Schreck (Shadow of the Vampire) Betelgeuse (Beetlejuice) Edward Scissorhands Carrie (blood covered) I think Betelgeuse and Edward Scissorhands, in particular, would actually be viable; I'd think that about Shaun, too, if it hadn't already been shot down. EDIT: I see I have only one "hero," so I'd add Ripley (Alien), and Ed (Shaun of the Dead). Maybe Laurie (Halloween) and Lydia (Beetlejuice)... and Robert8, I agree... that's why I phrased it "if TLG insists." I liked the Simpsons, but would have preferred them released along with the normal series. I also skipped the TLM series with the exception of a few interesting figures (I did not "collect" them the way I've done other series). Those two were not numbered series, though. Perhaps they should call S14 something else, like Halloween Series or something.
  4. Here is my entry to the GoH Anniversary Contest Cedrica Royal Guard of Cedrica With the King's whereabouts lost in the mists of the Revolword Wars, the Royal Guards of Cedrica are guarding an empty throne. Which may prove more dangerous than you should think… Mitgardia Northman Normally, he will be herding reindeer on the plains or icefishing on the frozen lakes of the far north, but when called upon to defend his homeland, he is a fearsome fighter. On top of this, his "moose-in-heat" battlecry is rather fearsome… Dwarven Prospector Some say dwarves have a sixth sence for valuable minerals, while others say its all about hard work in the dark mines. The truth is likely somewhere in between. Merchant Captain From the port of Thorshaven, this seacaptain roams the waters of Historica in an armed merchant vessel, shying away from nothing in the quest for fame and fortune. Well, almost nothing… Is that a seamonster?! Nocturnus Crocman Warrior Born and raised in the Moruth Swamps of Nocturnus, this warrior navigates water as well as land. While undisciplined, he is fearsome in battle. Cyclops Farmer While often overlooked in the annals of history, farmers are who keeps the armies marching. This cyclops farmer tends his crops as tenderly as any elf - Unless they bite back, that is. Orc Warchief Orcs tend to be the cannonfodder of any epic battle, but some do survive the onslaught. Those who survive enough battles to grow old, amass enormous experience and are often chosen as warchiefs. Kaliphlin Faqir Living an ascetic life in the streets of Barqa, this faqir preaches his verson of the teachings of the Aslanic faith. He makes his living on alms and what passers-by pay to see the snake dance to his flute. Gorrian Guardian In the Jungle of Gorr the Abemen resides. The strongest and fiercest of their people are chosen as Guardians of the Jungle and taught to stop for nothing to protect their homelands. Although banana bribes seem to improve their civility… Belly Dancer Assassin This beauty will enchant you with her moves and keep you entertained. But take care not to end up as a name on her contracts, for only few have lived to tell of her true occupation. Avalonia Plains Shepherd From a young age, a peasant's son must take his part in providing for his family. This young boy tends sheep in Avalonian riverlands with the help of his trusty sheepdog. Elven Wanderess In the enchanted forests of the Mystic Isles, the elves dwell, living in perfect harmony with nature. Her eyes appears to be imposing a question upon your mind: Have YOU hugged a tree today? Longbowmen Volunteer When danger strikes the lands, the longbowman levy is called to man the walls. Trained twice a week since childhood, these archers are a force to be reckoned with. All of them will hit the mark at 300 yards. The best of them will split the arrows already sitting in it... Drow Drow Tunnel Runner The Drow tunnels under Historica are constantly patrolled by Tunnel Runners, who may also be carrying whatever communications Drow commanders pass between eachother. Most likely the newest recipe for root stew… Varlyrio Palace Guard Captain The Rego is surrounded by his Palace Guard at all times. This Captain of the Guard keeps the soldiers in check and ensures that every piece of metal is newly polished and shiny. A flashy soldier is a good soldier, the Rego always said! Wealthy Plutocrat The wealth of Varlyrio is based upon the hard work of the entrepreneurial bourgeoisi. These plutocrats rarely chose sides in times of conflict, as profits are best gained through neutrality. _______________________________________________________________________________ I've had these sitting on the shelf since December, and seen a few of my ideas being used by others. (Great minds really do seem to think alike ) Lego even stole my idea for a snake charmer in the newest CMF series! There has been a lot of good entries so far - good luck to all! Feedback is more than welcome!
  5. Could those of you who posted in the CMF trading thread update your posts (including if you're no longer interested in trading)? Some are very old and obviously completely out of date - it makes perusing the thread worthless when most of the posts haven't been updated in years. Just a simple request... if you don't want to trade anymore, just edit your post to clear it out and say "no longer trading" or something?
  6. Avalonia: Elven Guild Master The Elven Guild Master is one of the richest individuals in all of Avalonia. Using his cunning skills in business and trade, he has improved the economic situation of Avalonia while improving the economic situation of his purse. Do not think him miserly, though. He always reinvests his riches for the betterment of Avalonia and is often found giving aid to those in need. Herbalist Having spent her entire life in the forest glades of Avalonia, the Herbalist knows about every plant around. Learning from her elders and her own experiences, she knows the best cures for any ailment. Throughout different experimentation, she has even found certain flora to cause unusual hallucinations and an irresistible desire to hug a tree… Knight Errant Adventure, gold, glory, and damsels in distress draw the Knight Errant on amazing quests all across the Guilds! His shiny armor offers him protection in a scrape, and his trusty sword and shield give him the edge in any scrap with the scum he encounters. Always travelling, he is never bored, but there are times when he just wishes he could find somewhere to wash his tights. Stinky Stu Growing up in the flower fields of Avalonia has given Stinky Stu a love for things that grow and good tilled earth. Each day, he delves deeper into his research with hybrids to produce the most vibrantly colored and enchantingly scented flowers in the Guilds. These flowers are a hit everywhere, but Stu still cannot figure out why no one ever buys the scented flowers directly from him… Mitgardia: Hunter Ever on the prowl in search of game, the Hunter has spent many an hour in the mountains and rugged lands of Mitgardia. She has learned to know the signs of the presence of any wildlife nearby and is able to quickly determine the best way to catch her quarry. It is well known that she has an unusual ability to hide from animals, and some suppose that this is due to her natural smell from never bathing. Dwarven Warrior Fully armed and filthy, the Dwarven Warrior is a formidable foe on the battlefield, especially when he is defending his homeland of Mitgardia. His trusty axe is always sharp and he certainly knows how to use it! Stouter than stout and braver than brave, no foe has ever yet contended with him, unless you count the time when his wife grew her beard longer than his... he has never lived that down, and you had better not mention it! Frozen Beyonder Not much is known about the Frozen Beyonder, except that his armor is tough, his arms strong, and his weapons of ice are extremely cold! Adventurers have sought to learn more about these frigid creatures, but, thank goodness, they have never been seen south of the northern Mitgardian border. Snow Elf The mysterious race of the Snow Elves live in northern parts of Mitgardia and are completely at home amidst snow and ice. Though not impervious to cold, they are extremely resilient, and most assume that to be due to the warmth of their hearts. Kin to the Woodland Elves, the Snow Elves came into Mitgardia before anyone remembers. Legend tells of their many brave deeds but also of their simple lifestyle. Nocturnus: Drow Guard In the many underground tunnels dug by the Drow, the Drow Guard can be found guarding key passages that lead into unknown territories. Though even many in Nocturnus disown the Drow, the Drow Guard still wears Nocturnian colors for evil Drowish symbolism: Black for midnight darkness hiding, Red for blood of enemies spilt, Gold for treasures bringing fighting, and the weapon’s surface gilt. No one has ever passed a Drow Guard and lived to tell the tale... Orc Farmer Girl Gardening and raising livestock have always been a way of life for the Orc Farmer Girl, as there are always others in need of sustenance. Inglorious is the life of a Nocturnus swamp farmer, but this Orc Farmer Girl dreams of more. Many a passing Orc adventurer has stopped to admire her homely beauty, but she is too finicky to accept the fleeting love of an adventurer. She awaits the day she can present her prize onion to someone special, like the Orc Sentry, the hero on the wall always protecting the innocent swamp farmers. So high, so removed from the swampy muck and mud… Ninja Queen White hair shows age that has brought much wisdom and experience to the Ninja Queen, and this in turn has brought her to the top rank among the stealth warriors in Nocturnus. No one has ever seen the face of the Ninja Queen, be it due to her stealthy movements or her skull-like mask covering her face. No one knows what race she is, but legend has it that she actually is a shadow. Orc Sentry The duty of the Orc Sentry is one of great importance. He must investigate all who seek to pass the wall into his lord’s realm to determine their intents and purposes. Numerous battles have been fought at these walls, in which the Orc Sentry has found much use for his long pike. He must bear the torch at night to keep a keen eye even in darkness. Many days seem uneventful, though, and the Orc Sentry looks across the swamp fields and dreams of a certain Orc Farmer Girl, so beautiful, so down-to-earth, so unattainable… Kaliphlin: Fisherman The southern coasts of Kaliphlin are home to the Fisherman. His trusty hook, line, and sinker have proven useful in making a living providing fish to the citizens of Kaliphlin cities. He has also found that he can make even more money by taking rich aristocrats out for tours to the “best fishing spots”, though he often leaves the very best spots for himself. Driven by need, he has learned to utilize the entire fish, including bones for needles. Learning to sew has been important for repairing his clothing after daring bouts with sharks and seat-of-the-pants hook miscasts. Merchant Offering the finest Kaliphlin goods at the finest prices, the Merchant is a born saleswoman. Knowing how to read people and determine their needs, she uses words and flattery in such a way that you are sure to leave with heavier baggage and a much lighter purse. She is always willing to work a deal fit for your needs, but do not cross her, as she is as quick with her dagger as she is with her tongue and wit. Route Guard The many paths and roads of the Kaliphlin trade routes offer many a temptation to thieves and highwaymen. That is where the Route Guard comes in. All members of the Route Guard are esteemed for their skill with shield and spear and are known for their dedication and bravery. Bearing the symbol of the lion as a representation of their courage and proudly garbed in the colors of Kaliphlin, their regal appearance is enough to warn any vagabond to think twice before raiding trade caravans. Mameluke Though he is a slave, the Mameluke is dedicated to his lord. For his loyalty, the lord has rewarded the Mameluke with a camel to ride into battle, the best means of transportation in the hot sands of Kaliphlin. Since he is also protecting his family from danger, he willingly obeys his lord as he looks forward to the day he earns his freedom. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I hope you enjoy this series! I had a lot of fun coming up with characters and descriptions while trying to make this series as similar to the style of a real series of collectible minifigures as possible. Thanks to Ecclessiastes for such a wonderful way to celebrate the Guilds of Historica Anniversary!
  7. The series: Mitgardia: Mitgardian Army Archer – Crossbowmen are the standard archer component of the Mitgardian Army. Mitgardian archers might lack the finness of the Avalonian elves, but their bolts hit hard, just like a Mitgaridan blizzard. Unknown Ice Mage – Legends are rife with anecdotes of ghostly demons in the Frozen Beyond, could this be one of them? Mead Hall Barmaid – She may always be smiling, but if you mess with her, her customers, or her mead hall, she’ll pick you up and throw you out in the cold! Avalonia: The Green Knight – Always happy to save a damsel in distress, this knight trusts his shield, armor, and sword to deal with everything that comes his way, though he’s learning there is no defense for angry damsels. Druid Witch – With an affinity for nature, she roams the countryside looking for interesting alchemy ingredients. Sometimes her potions even work! Farmer – Typical of farmers in the fertile regions of Avalonia, he takes his fresh wares to market almost every day. Kaliphlin: Skullcrusher the Lion – One of the most experienced of the Kaliphlinite Army regulars, Skullcrusher relishes crushing skulls with his heavy mace and can’t wait to take the fight to the Black Spire. Pharaoh’s Mystic – When the Pharaohs of the Mountain Mummies need someone horribly cursed, they send the Mystic to do the deed. While his origins are unknown, his expertise with venomous creatures and ancient magic makes him a formidable foe both in the shadows and on the battlefield. Black Oil Salesman – Don’t confuse him with a snake oil salesman! This experienced negotiator is a respectable merchant that does his part to illuminate the dark corners of Historica. Nocturnus: Black Spire Headsman – Sometimes heads just must roll. In fact, supplying the annual Empty Skull Bowling Contest provides much of the headsman’s yearly income. If you like your head connected to your body, it’s usually best to avoid the Spire! Drow Sorcerer – A true master of black magic, this Drow mage is known for turning his victims inside out. It’s fairly gruesome, and frankly, nobody wants to see it (especially the janitorial staff!); so, just stay out of his way. Fisherman – Noctunian waters are surprisingly well stocked with edible animals—depending on your definition of “edible”! A staple protein product around Abyssian, the Orange-Shelled Water Spider is sourced with frequency from the Moruth Swamplands by skilled fishermen. Others: Varlyrion Harbor Guard – Significantly less full of themselves than the Garra, the Harbor Guard ensures no pirates take up residence in Varlyrio, tariffs are paid, brawls result in minimal property damage, and the proper amount is skimmed off the top… Varlyrion Noblewoman – She spends most of her time like many of the richer Varlyrions, drinking fine wine and eating fine foods while attempting to advance her courtly position. King’s Guard – A proud group of warriors, the crimson and bright silver of the King’s men once symbolized the might of the throne. Even with civil wars wracking the four Guilds, the Guard has not given up hope that the King will return. They still defend the palace with their lives and their giant axes. Cedrica Silversmith – This dwarf is known far and wide as the best silversmith in all of Historica. He can craft any jewelry, but he most enjoys working with locks and keys. This was way fun! Thanks Ecc for the great contest! I tried to keep the piece counts realistic for these, though the Headsman and King's Guard got a little crazy with the axes.
  8. Rogue Angel's Collectible Series Avalonia Druid The Druidic Order still exists in Avalonia, and it's members say they descend from the Great Druids of old. They are still reclusive, and rarely reveal themselves to outsiders. Some say they still wield mystical powers of great strength. Albion Cutpurse All large cities have their shady side, and Albion is no different. The City is awash in thieves, charlatans and footpads, and this cutpurse looks to be on his way to fence some ill-gotten gains. Elven Sentinel Most every Elven Clan has a wilderness they permanently inhabit. They serve as caretakers of these wilds and as part of this, they typically pose sentinels to watch for any intruders or encroachers. Albion Pastry Chef The wealthier citizens of Albion have a more refined palate, and are willing to pay for finer fare. The Pastry chef caters to a very exclusive clientele, who prefer the most exquisite of bakery. Mitgardia Elven Ranger The Elves of Mitgardia are more sparsely populated than in the southern realms, and Elven Rangers are seasoned warriors who can fend for themselves, and live off the land for months at a time. Dwarven Axeman The Axeman are the backbone of most Dwarven forces, the axe being one of the most heavily favored Dwarven arms. As with the Rangers, the hearty axemen are more than capable of weathering the harsh Mitgardian winters. Mountain Man The far northern reaches of Mitgardia are desolate and uninviting. It takes a certain type of man to call these lands home, but there are trappers, miners and hunters who enjoy living far from civilization. Or far from the law. Gnomish Artificer The Gnome are obsessed with mechanics, alchemy and technology, and the Artificer excels at creating mechanical tools and constructs. "For gnomes, technology is the heart of simplicity, for through technology the burden of simple tasks may be relieved, so that every gnome has more time to focus on developing more technology to relieve more simple tasks, - Gnomish adage Kaliphlin Spearman The Kaliphlin guardsman patrol across the Guild, and the spear is often their weapon of choice. These guardsman can endure the searing heats and barren expanses of the Kaliphlin wastes in their efforts to protect merchants and travelers. Gorilla Mariner The Gorilla Tribes have little interaction with the neighboring villages of their homeland, but they are much more prolific on the seas of Historica, and Gorilla Mariners can usually be found in most every major port from Nocturnus to Mitgardia. Scribe Kaliphlinites seems to think that their every whim should be recorded for posterity, and have even established a University to house their whims. With such an effort being spent on writing these whims down, the scribe is one of the most professions in Kaliphlin. Seraphim Lance The Seraphim inhabit the skies of Kaliphlin, but few know of their existence. They have long battled the Ravens flocks of Nocturnus, but this is a saga that plays out unbeknownst to the Kaliphlinites below. Nocturnus Drow Taskmaster The Drow are an evil race that inhabit the subterranean reaches that extend across Historica, but are often seen in most Nocturnus Cities, and occasionaly Kaliphlin ports looking to purchase slaves or more exotic wares. Lycanthropist A number of the Werwolf tribes of Nocturnus have accumulated vast sums of wealth over the years, and the Lycnathropists travel across Nocturnus, seeking to provide assistance to those in need. Their are tales that some werewolves tell their young, of werewolves that turn into humans, and steal and swindle others out of their money instead, but these are just meant to scare them. Fang of the Dragon The Dragon Clan of Nocturnus is said to be one of the strongest factions in Nocturnus, and the Fang of the Dragon is the order of Samurai that give alleigance to the Dragon Clan. They are formidable opponents, and often form the main line of attack in Clan wars. Orc Farmer The orcs are seen as a nuisance or threat in most of the guilds, but in Nocturnus, there is a large number of Orc Farmers, that want nothing more than to live in the comfort of their own hovel with their swine by their side, and live out their days in tranquility. Thanks for checking this out! This will not be a contest entry, but I thought it was a fantastic idea by Ecc, so I posted my own series.
  9. Hi guys - here is my assortment of minifig designs for the GOH Anniversary Contest: Kaliphlin: Colour Guard Soldier: Proudly part of the elite guard responsible for displaying and protecting the Kali colours (at least when he's not half asleep...). Assassin: One of the most lucrative killers in the business - with his twin bone knives, he's quick, clean, and quiet. Pit Fighter: Fame and fortune await the victors of the Kali pits - this fighter wants it all. Vinter: The great wine maker - he got tired of making ale in the frozen north and so moved to the warmer climates of Kaliphlin where he developed a series of vintages famous throughout Historica. Mitgardia: Horse Master: People far and wide come seeking the advice of this horse master to solve all their horse training problems. Mountain Man: Several bouts of frostbite has made this Mitgardian impervious to the frigid mountain temperatures. Adventurer: Having little luck in the facial hair department, this hopeful fellow is on a quest to earn his beard. Baker: The family recipes have been passed down for generations, and this dwarf is carrying on the tradition of creating some of the best baked goods around. Avalonia: Avalonian Infiltrator: The drow are on the loose, and need to be stopped. Record Keeper: This scribe keeps careful records of the local laws and histories. Archer: No one can figure out how this sharp shooter can hit his target every time - the guy's missing an eye! Maiden: This curly haired lady devotes all her free time to studing plants, hoping to accumulate enough knowledge to become a great herbalist. Nocturnus: Drakarkan Queen: She rules, alongside the king, under the seas along the northern shores of Nocturnus. Jester: One of the greatest Nocturnus entertainers - you die laughing when head start to roll. The Happy Wizard: Captain of the warship The Smiling Phantom - you'll want to hightail it outa-there if you see his ship out on the horizon (well except, you probably won't see it 'till after it's too late). Warlord Blanche: While Historica will more likely remeber her tirant sister Warlord Baby Jane - Blanche was truely the brains behind the terror that wreaked havoc across Nocturnus - until both sisters seemed to just vanish from history. (These characters were going to be my contribution to the Warlord community build (overtly inspired by What ever happened to Baby Jane), which I will try to complete one of these days... ) Thanks for having a look. A few of these might be recognizable from past builds, but for the most part I had a hoot coming up with some newish, unique-ish characters.
  10. Although this build was inspired by a Series 12 CMF, I think it fits best in the town forum. It can be driven by other figures, and it is actually based on a classic town model, the van from 6350 'Pizza To Go' (called 'Mama's Pizzeria' in Britain). "Did the Special order a special" I have always assumed that the 6350 van was a Lego representation of a Japanese 'kei' van, a very small type of vehicle most common in Japan (where their very small dimensions and engine size allow for tax advantages) but also occasionally seen in Britain and Europe on very light duties (though they are less common than they used to be). The front-end has been extended and restyled, inspired by early 'kei' vehicles, and also old British forward control vans like the Commer PB. The roof has been raised to make up for the absence of an opening roof, and the 'Pizza Delivery Guy's' printed box forms the sign on the roof (there is no other branding of any kind). The original 6350 van's walkie-talkie has been replaced by a smart phone, a custom printed 'iBrickphone' from Fire Star Toys (pure Lego alternatives are available). The biggest changes are at the rear. Rear lights have been added, and the load bay has been enlarged, taking advantage of the raised roof. While the 6350 van could only just hold four pizzas, this van carries four in the lower compartment alone. The upper compartment can only hold one, and carries the most special pizza, the very spicy brown crusted Pizza of Resistance! "Jeff, don't! It has cheese!" It is just possible to wedge another pizza into the top of the lower compartment, increasing the van's capacity to 6, but this is not recommended. The large lower compartment can also carry other loads, like paaaaaaaaants! Power comes from a small underfloor engine, accessible by lifting up the drivers hinged plate seat. In the absence of an opening roof, the hinge also provides a novel way to get the driver in. While this van is based on a classic town model (which I never owned) I believe that, as a 'kei' van, it also fits into a modern 'City' scene, as it is supposed to be smaller than the other vehicles.
  11. Here's my entry, hope you enjoy! Avalonia Cartographer The Cartographer enjoys nothing more than traveling the land, finding hidden wonders missed by previous mapmakers. She particularly enjoys charting the Mystic Isles, but is often called upon to update borders for the many fiefdoms of Avalonia. "I can't wait to see what's around the bend!" Tavern Keeper A staple across Historica, taverns and inns offer respite for the weary and a chance for locals to see strange visitors from afar without leaving their cozy hamlets. This Avalonian Tavern Keeper will gladly fill your belly with good food and drink, if you've the coin to pay! "Always happy to serve a paying customer!" Halfling Cutpurse The Halfling Cutpurse plies his trade among the cities of Avalonia, where the predominance of Big Folk allow him to slip easily through crowds, often mistaken for a street urchin. The Big Folk also are handy in that their wallets and purses are within easy reach of the halfling's quick fingers and trusty blades! "A penny in hand is worth two in the purse; a whole purse in hand is even better!" Mitgardia Dwarf Lord The Dwarf Lord rules over one of the many underground cities of the dwarves in the north, using his heavy scepter and warhammer to protect his realm--not to mention the precious gems and metals his people mine from the depths! "Gold, gold, gold, I sure do love me gold...and my people, of course." Ice Warrior The Ice Men of the north were once considered nothing more than a legend, until a clan hunting party lost their way in a blizzard. This Ice Warrior uses his enchanted axe and shield to defend his territory...and scare off wayward hunters! "Ice to meet you!" Forge Guard It's no secret that dwarven women aren't something non-dwarves see every day, but of course they exist! One place you'll often find them is among the prestigious Forge Guards in most dwarven cities, protecting the Great Forges from outsiders and the occasional dwarf under the spell of goldlust. With mighty mallentû hammers in hand, they stand their watch over the beating hearts of the cities. "You didn't believe that rumor about the beards, did you?" Orcish Goatheard Residents of Nocturnus have long accepted that not all orcs are warlike savages, but that knowledge has been slow to catch on elsewhere--often with good reason! The village of this Goatherd in the Orcish Marches of western Mitgardia wants little more than to be left in peace, but often finds itself caught up in neighboring conflicts. The goatherd defends her flock, spear in hand, from all threats, be it wild predators, rival orc tribes, or battle-hungry men and dwarves. "I love my kids! See what I did there?" Kaliphlin Sellsword Soldiers-for-hire are common throughout Historica, but not often well-received. Selling loyalty doesn't feel right to many, but for the right price--and the right cause--this skilled Sellsword's blades can be yours! "Swordplay is like a dance; shall we?" Philosopher This Philosopher attended the famed University of Petraea for years--and never left! When he's not auditing (and interrupting) classes, he can be found roaming the grounds, dispensing "wisdom" and debating anyone he can about his theory of the cyclical nature of existence. "Ah, but what is tuition, anyway?" Ruadh Perfumer Ruadh is home to a wide variety of artisans and craftsmen, including this little halfling plying her aromatic wares. From subtle to cloying, repellant to magnetic, she's got a scent to suit you--even some that are claimed to be magical! "would you like a free spritz?" Nocturnus Shadowmere Captain The Shadowmere Captain is an orc you don't mess with. He takes his duties as seriously as maintaining his mohawk, and brooks no laziness from the troops under his command with the threats of the Black Spire and the Drow always looming. "Step lively, you mangy warthogs!" Redcap Goblin Redcap Goblins have spread across Historica, but they're particularly common in Nocturnus where the rumored practice of dying their caps in the blood of their enemies isn't seen as quite so unusual. Pike in hand, this little creature is no one to be trifled with! "Ankle-biter? Come down here and say that to my face!" Miscellaneous Valyrion Fox The Valyrion Fox is a famed figure in his native land. A bandit to some, hero of the masses to others, he battles corruption among the nobles in certain parts of Valyrio. Some have suggested he's secretly a noble himself! "I fight for the people!" Red Mage Nobody knows where the Red Mage truly hails from, but he's claimed a tower near Cedrica as his own and often wanders the whole of Historica with his mighty wizard staff and wide array of spells at his command. Word has spread that he seeks an apprentice to learn his vast knowledge, but as yet none have been chosen. Pretenders abound, however. Many wonder, with such power at his fingertips, why can't he magick himself a new leg? "The power to change the world lies in which hand?" Drow Warleader The crafty Drow have long plotted the downfall of the surface-dwellers. Warleaders clad in traditional black and silver chitinous armor, wielding wicked curved blades, take point in most Drow raids across Historica, thought they are not the true authority behind the soldiers. "The Dark is rising!" Gnome Paladin The Gnome Paladin is a bit of an oddity. He claims no allegiance to any one guild, swearing fealty to his deity above all else. None are quite sure where he's from, only that his Order of the Broken Cog sounds more like a tavern than a group of paladins. He may be a bit of a zealot, but his trusty mace, shield, and helmet serve him well in his defense of innocents and pursuit of righteous causes. "Have at thee, foul villains!" I tried to keep mine as authentic as I could as far as techniques used by TLG went for minifigure accessories. And who wouldn't love a goat in a CMF bag?
  12. Here is my entry for the GoH CMF Series: Mitgardia: The Yeti Guard - the perfect protector in the North. Dwarfanardo is a famous dwarven inventor. His latest ballista model is shown here in front of him. Well, you know how life is in Mitgardia, especially in winter. So this young maiden has got work to do. Sometimes husbands return late from the pub. Sometimes the wife is waiting. A member of the City Guard of Brun's Fall. Wearing gloves against the Mitgardian bad weather. He does not look too happy. Maybe somebody is waiting for him... Avalonia: The Dragon-Tamer has a hard job. If he's lucky the dragon can be fed by carrots. If not... The Rogue: Don't trust him. The Scissor Grinder is a traveling man. Good, when he is around. The (human) Sentinel is keeping his eyes open. Nocturnus: The Drow Sentinel: A much-feared strangely-hatted warrior. His eyes are also open (but red). The Mage is always trying to figure out what this spell scroll is about... The Dark Crossbow Archer rarely misses. Kaliphlin: The Pastry Cook: Want some? Maybe the Duke wants some pastry. However, currently he is happy with some honey he has received. Maybe coming from Mitgardia. The Juggler can be seen in Kaliphlin at times. Some days are good, some aren't... Excellent mushrooms can be found all over Kaliphlin. I am looking forward to your comments! Edit: Does that allow to claim: Anthropology life in Avalonia life in Mitgardia life in Nocturnus?
  13. When this contest was announced, I was really bummed out, as most of my minifigs are a long ways away from me, and I didn't think there was any way I would be able to enter. Eventually, I decided I would make a few figures anyway, just for fun. However, it was way too much fun, and I decided to BrickLink as much as possible (right before Christmas) to make it work. I really wanted to use flesh figures, but thought that yellow-toned stayed true to the CMF line. I also tried to keep the names generic, and the descriptions basic, as that to me is the spirit of the CMF line, as it allows the collector to be more creative with the figures and how they are used. I also tried to take advice others gave me on my last build, that I need to use a better background and/or edit the background. I edited the photo of the overall shot to try and get a feel for it, but I think I need to find some tutorials on how to do it better, as it took WAY too many hours for one picture. Anyway, I hope you enjoy! Criticism and comments are always welcome. Avalonia Vineyard Worker Works in a Vineyard, picking fruit. Always gives each tree a hug after. Albion Heavy Guard Only deployed for the most serious of threats. Assassin A master of disguises. No one would ever suspect a beautiful Avalonian Lady of being an assassin. Flag Bearer Has the great honor of carrying Avalonia's colors during battle. Nocturnus Headsman Some say Nocturnus uses Headsman for as small a crime as petty thievery. Gaoler One of several reasons to avoid imprisonment in Nocturnus. Pumpkin gruel is another. Butcher Because Nocturnus is Vegan free! And any kind of meat is fair game. Warlock Prince Can be killed by no mortal man. Mitgardia Border Sentry The most dedicated snowflake counter you'll find. Housewife Do: Compliment her beard. Do NOT: Mistake her for a man. Drummer Leads troops into battle (and the occasional dance). Deer Suit Guy Hunter Years of experience have taught him that with a proper disguise, the deer come right to him. Kaliphlin Dark Mage Expelled from the University for practicing forbidden magic. Princess Not an actual princess. Only thinks she is one because that's what Daddy calls her. Sell-Sword Protects whoever pays the most! Caravan Driver Rides his camel all over Historica if there's trade to be done.
  14. I know similar messages have been posted in the past, but I thought I would do a slight variation: Out of the CMFs that you own, which is your favourite . . . Male minifigure: Female minifigure: Licensed minifigure: Additionally: What is your least favourite CMF that you own? What CMF do you want the most? What S16 CMF are you most looking forward to? Any honourable mentions?

  20. Hi to all! It’s Christmas time once again and I hope you are ready to start opening your own advent calendars. As in last year, I intend to start some advent calendars myself here at Eurobricks. These calendars were built using LDD, so no “real” bricks here, but I hope you’ll still enjoy it. Since my favorite theme is the Collectable Minifigures, it was obvious to start an AC that will contain new and never-seen-before minifigs. Since there are 24 days in an AC, there will be 24 minifigs, not 16. And what kind of minifigs? Whatever you can imagine! Or at least I can…Or both, since most of the ideas I tried to create came from you. I read through some “let’s guess what minifigs will appear in future CMF series” threads and there were many brilliant ideas! Of course I missed those that were already made, or will be in the upcoming Series 13. UPDATE: There will be at least one that is similar to one of the minifigures in Series 13, but I didn't know that when I created it, and I didn't want to change. I tried to do my best making unique “printings”, but since the project was made in LDD, I had to use the molds that already exist there. “Oh no, so no new molds?!” Actually, albeit I couldn't change the 3D models of the molds in the LDD software, the rendering software allows doing some “changes” ;) So be prepared for some exciting minifigs! And don’t forget to come back every day until 24th! Enjoy! Day 1 - Baker
  21. This has been my favorite contest on EB to date Thanks for putting it on! And keep posting entries everyone, it's great to see all the fig combos! Mitgardia: Name: Mitgardian Bodyguard - There are all sorts of nasty surprises waiting for traders venturing through Mitgardia. Everything from Yeti, to Ice-Dragons, to angry, bearded women. Most traders hire the services of a bodyguard who knows the lay of the land. This bodyguard favors the tri-headed axe. While not the most practical of weapons, it is fearsome and can scare away the more timid of assailants who don't want three of their limbs chopped off at the same time. Name: Bird-Of-Prey Trainer - Many trainers favor hawks as their pet/hunting weapon. She, however, likes to use the Snowy Owl for blending in with the many miles of snow found in Mitgardia. Many a rabbit, and unwanted suitor, has found themselves at the receiving end of this owl's sharp talons. Name: Dwarven Smith - Everyone knows that dwarves make the best weapons and armor. Whether you are about to go into battle against the Drow, or are just needing your sickle sharpened, visit this dwarf for the best results in all of Mitgardia. Name: Beer Seller - A trip through Mitgardia is not complete without at least one visit to the many taverns, pubs, and bars throughout the land. This merchant will sell you a keg or just a mug of the finest brewed beers, ales, or other strong drinks Mitgardia is so well known for. Avalonia: Name: Bagpiper - Throughout the highlands of Avalonia the drone of the bagpipe can be heard at all hours of the day, or night if the mood strikes him. A favorite at both parties and funerals, this bagpiper is always busy playing his tunes for the many inhabitants of Avalonia. Name: Avalonian Knight - There are many land-owners throughout Avalonia and with land comes the need to protect it. That's why this knight is never wanting for work. He has been hired by many of the lords throughout his lifetime. And while he may look old, his experience at the job makes him more than qualified to still defend the land. Name: Lady-In-Waiting - Many of the lords of Avalonia have ladies, and those ladies need someone to help them into their corsets. These ladies-in-waiting are skilled in all aspects of dressing, make-up, and manners. Name: Squire - All the knights in Avalonia need squires to help them keep their armor looking shining and their horses well fed and groomed. This squire can saddle a horse almost as fast as he can volunteer to practice his sword skills. Nocturnus: Name: Vampire Host - Nocturnus is home to many famous vampires. Some of them are out to turn you into one of them, but many are delightful hosts of any travelers daring enough to knock on their door. Blood Wine anyone? Name: Orc Ambassador - Nocturnus has embassies established in the other guilds of Historica. This requires some of the inhabitants to volunteer to be ambassadors to the other guilds. While this orc may have a face only his mother could love, he tries to make up for it with tasteful attire so that he can do his job well. Name: Morroval Warrior - Many fearsome races inhabit Nocturnus. The Morroval are a cross between vampires and harpies and are excellent fighters. They are a matriarchal society and often sacrifice their men after they have served their use in furthering the race. You would not want to meet this Morroval in any part of Nocturnus for she is more likely to kill you than greet you. Name: Vincent - Not all the inhabitants of Nocturnus are werewolves and minotaurs, but almost all of them have some darkness in their past. Vincent is one such person. He seeks vengeance against those who have wronged him, though he doesn't like to talk about what happened to make him so vengeful. In fact, he doesn't talk much at all, but his Limit Break attack is fearsome to behold. Kaliphlin: Name: Kaliphlinian Scholar - Kaliphlinians are proud of their university and the scholars it produces. This scholar will debate you on whether he should be known as a Kaliphlinian or a Kaliphlinite. He also specializes in knowing the layout of all the major cities in Historica. He can't draw up the maps, he leaves that to the cartographers, but he can recite all the details on square-footage and sewer layout on any city you name. Name: Oasis Guard - Wherever there is water in Kaliphlin there can be found some semblance of civilization. And wherever there is civilization there are guards to be found. Some guard the merchants, some guard the travelers, and some guard the best watering spots at the oasis. Name: Desert Farmer - Farming in Kaliphlin is hard work. It is only by the sweat of his brow that this farmer ekes some vegetables out of the harsh land. He carries seeds to plant in his bag and a mat on his back to layout over the sand when it's time for a lunch break. Name: Music-Box Monkey Man - Not all Kaliphlinians are scholars, farmers, or guards; some of them choose to entertain instead. This man plays a whimsical tune on his music-box while his pet monkey's antics brings smiles to those passing by. Just keep an eye your purse while you're watching this duo. Monkeys can be trained to cut purses and not all entertainers in Kaliphlin are satisfied with the coins donated to them.
  22. Hi everyone! I finally got around to taking some new photos of my CMF stand. I adore CMFs and they are actually the reason I got back into LEGO as an adult, following a chance purchase of a single series 4 pack whilst out shopping (Kimono Girl, you have a special place in my heart). As LEGO fans, we must all have more Minifigures than we know what to do with, so I'm curious as to what everyone else does with theirs? For me, I started simply enough with a single-tiered stand that just grew and grew with each new series. The stand is currently 55cm high, 37cm deep and it is 54.5cm wide. I have made several modifications to the design as the stand has evolved. Once it became too big and heavy to move easily, I broke it down and made it modular. It currently is made up of THREE modular pieces: - 1) Series 1 - 5 2) Series 6 - 11 3) The 'raiser' The 'Raiser' has seven jumper plates on top, which are used to hold series 6-11 in place. Series 1-5 then neatly slides up against the front of the 'raiser' to give the illusion of one large stand but allows me to move it easily for dusting and display purposes. The back of all the three modules features 1x2 Technic bricks with holes, so when a new series comes out, I can just 'bolt on' a new tier with Technic pins. This saves me from having to take the whole thing apart and rebuild for each new tier. The name plates are made by putting custom stickers onto 1x4 white tiles. The 'series' tiles are a little more complicated in terms of sticker design but follow the same principle as the name plates and are put onto 2x2 white tiles. The custom stickers are simply designed in Microsoft Word and then printed onto clear adhesive/sticker paper (it comes in A4 sheets) via my office printer, cut to size and applied to LEGO tiles. One of the things that this stand allows me to do is to add some dynamic posing for those characters that imply movement or that are an unusual size, or that have accessories that would look better in use. For example: - The Sky Diver looks fine standing straight up, but he looks even better when in free-fall! Medusa's tail is so long that I had to make a hole to allow it to poke out the back. I would be especially interested to hear how people who frame and hang their Minifigures have handled Medusa. Adding a Hinge Brick (a.k.a. Rocker Plate) allowed me to angle the Snowboarders and Surfers and let them not only ride their boards, but do it at dynamic angles. This is much more preferable than standing them straight up with their board held in their hand (framed Minifigures again). Putting the Ice Skates on Series 4's Hockey Player and Ice Skater means that they can no longer attach to a plate. I got around this by putting a Technic half-pin into the back of their legs to hold them in place over a tile. The Technic pin goes onto a 'tap' and the 'tap' attaches to the stand. So there it is. Series 12 is looming and soon this stand will have one more tier. I do not have room for many more tiers, so I am quite pleased that LEGO have slowed down with the release of these CMFs. I have custom display stands for the LEGO Movie Minifigures and also for Team GB, so look for them on here soon. I'm currently working on a Simpsons display stand but am only at a very early design stage in LDD. How do you display your Minifigures? I'd love to know. Thanks for looking! You can view the full album on Flickr HERE.
