Which Hobbit set are you most looking forward to?
KristofBD replied to Ferrik's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
It was hard choosing between Mirkwood, the barrel escape and Bag End. I ended up voting for Mirkwood because of the elves, the glow in the dark pieces, the mushrooms and the dark red leaves -
I agree with Maskedbuilder: given the two elves, the amount of weapons and bottles, glasses, barrels etc. I think the Barrel Escape is actually a very good deal. Hopefully the euro price is similar! Thanks for the pictures by the way, Lynx. Looking at the high res picture of the goblin king set, I noticed that Gandalf's beard seems slightly different from the one I have from the Gandalf Arrives set. Specifically the 'whisker' seems higher (approximately just as high as the moustache while my Gandalf Arrives one is about two or three millimeter lower than the moustache). The new beard definitively fits better (the old one made Gandalf look bald).

Now that looks like a nice new line. Can't wait to see preliminary pics

Good job! What I love the most is actually all the thought you put into it (Gimli, Gollum etc). Looks like a wonderful 'set'. I'm not a fan of how you depicted Saruman (looks a bit like a beggar to me), but that that's about the only minor point I have.

Excellent Moc! I agree with other comments that this MOC perfectly blends in with the original set. Love all the spiral stairs and ramps, I think you did a very good job there. Well done!
-
Woow Deskp that is an excellent Warg! Would prefer that one to the original LEGO versions...
-
Well let's hope LEGO has more up its sleeves. A LOTR/The Hobbit D2C would be great...
-
I'm quite happy with that - it will my orc army to grow! I'm not really a fan of the Goblins, so I'm happy that the Warg set includes some orcs.

Beautiful indeed! ...And cheap!
-
Truly beautiful ship! Love the colour scheme and the overall consistency. Brilliant stuff!
-
Good stuff! Love how you integrated the flowers from the Friends sets
-
It's a nice set, but definitively too expensive. I would be willing to pay up to 149.99€, but the thirty euros extra are simply too much.
-
Wooww that is truly brilliant! Love the trees, but the buildings are also very well designed!
-
Brilliant work! I love the elemental. The power function is really subtle and fits well!
-
Woow! Those soldiers look veery impressive!
-
Nic e sets, it is a shame that the guitar is brick built though: I liked CMF one a lot better.
-
Excellent! The gold and the dragon turned out well!
-
9 Alois - 2 points (love the overall atmosphere of the MOC!) 27 MYKo - 1 point (love the hairdresser) 3 Cuncator - 1 point 1 Castor (great build of the stairs!)
-
Entry 12 - 3 points Entry 10 - 2 points

I agree with you on that one, GRogall: I also find the bakery the best because of the colours. What I like the least about the postal office is the fact that tiles are used for most but not all of the interior. Probably that is due to a lack of quaerter-round tiles (if I am not mistaking, these do not exist). The figures are not great, but they do make for a cosy bunch. As part of a Christmas tradition I am saving coupons (which I get for participating in online surveys) and will be spending them on the Christmas set. Though given the higher price tag, I am not sure whether I will get enough coupons to get it for free this year...

Excellent review! I started to appreciate the set some more because of it! I was surprised with the hidden dark green bricks - that's good. Just a question: how many printed wood tiles are there in the set?
-
Even though, I think the colour scheme is indeed a bit too bright, I absolutely love the whacky idea behind the building!
-
Great news! I can't wait to see the pictures of the set!
-
May be not the flagship set, but my guess is a January exclusive.
