  1. whatWhatWHAT? I'd like to see that. Where'd you get it? Comic shop?
  2. Starro is hilarious!
  3. For being the biggest toy manufacturer in the world now, Lego is getting rather expensive. I can't believe the polar expedition icebreaker set cost so damn much. I scored the Coast Guard boat, Helicopter, and plane sets for the price of the icebreaker. At the end of the day, my son ends up with 2 boats for the pool/tub, and two other large vehicles outside that.
  4. I know, yeah? My kids are becoming perturbed that I keep dismembering their minifigs, but just to mix n match n see what works. A little trip to the Lego store to build their own minifigs out of the cache at the store helped the kids and I get some cool parts.
  5. Chum, that would be OUTRAGEOUS! Or course, I'd need the pompadour hair piece in blonde to complete the look.
  6. Damn. Every time this thread gets bumped, I'm left disappointed. Why? Because each time there's no news of this becoming a set. See, there's 2 Lego sets I'd pay money MONEY to own: 1) The X-Men Mansion. I'm not talking a glorified facade, I'm talking the fully tricked out build that made 10.000 votes on Lego CUUSOO/Ideas. 2) The Paris Opera House. As is. No neutering for budget's sake, neither. This Opera House build is a work of art in itself, and would be worth every penny.
  7. See, I like Astrid's stuff too. Based on design style, I would think that a detective agency would be right up Astid's alley.
  8. Unfortunately, for $20-$30, you won't get much of a building.
  9. Nope. Such a thing happened a few years ago in a strip mall in my town. Thieves broke in through a Chinese food take out joint and then used the ceiling to access the mom and pop jewelry store next door. Lego could even include a blurb on the box saying, "Based on Real Events!"
  10. Welcome to the forum! As far as a recap, just go back to page 54 for the most recent update. It never hurts to go back a few pages and catch up.
  11. Having the driveshaft and dashboard shit bar details included just blows my mind. Definitely making a couple of these for me and the kids. Pastels for my daughter's, of course. Time to go brick shopping. Thanks for the file!
  12. That's just too damn funny! Made my day.
  13. I hope that the Nick sets don't get nixed for additional movie sets. While I think the Turtles lair and Turtles van set designs remained faithful to their source material, I enjoy the more whimsical style of the Nick sets.
  14. I'm in modular heaven! Dig: the idea of a 40's era Sam Spade pad for private dicks and femme fatales gives me goosebumps. Epic coolsville. On the other hand, a build based on a certain Baker St. residence sounds elementary. It wouldn't fit the style or the other modulars, though. But hey, I spent $150 on a pet shop based set. A detective agency would be a welcome edition to the collection.
  15. Wow! The Green Hornet is a mammoth! The grill's outrageous and those fenders are badass. 110% zombie killer gear grinding machinery right there.
  16. Faefrost, thanks for posting this intriguing topic. Since Benny's ssS was announced, I'd been as giddy as a schoolgirl for CS sets. I even found my old CS sets in my parents' basement and went to town building my old moon base. I've also been looking for off-theme sets to mod for my CS collection. Then came along Pate's thread consisting of many purist steampunk minifigs. FBTB.net's recent Star Wars/Steampunk mod contest hasn't helped either. I've been bitten by the steampunk bug, and I'm just gonna ride it out. Now, I'm looking at sets to mod for steampunk vehicles. I've eBay-bricked several steampunk minifigs, and I'm now saving to Bricklink a Lego Ideas exo-suit steampunk mod. I planned on selling my misb Medieval Market set, but I cracked that baby open so my steampunks have a place to hang til I build some proper Victorian-era housing. Regardless, I'm still keeping my eye open for CS stuff though. On Sept. 1st, I plan on making the monthly Lego store pilgrimage to score the CS white suit space guy set. So many possibilities... Damn, I love Lego!
  17. Someone on eBay just listed a custom Slimer. I haven't had a good look at it yet though.
  18. Good damn gravy that's cool! And it transforms, you say? Incredible. I'd buy one!
  19. I'd take this over the black wad of Lego known as the Tumbler Batmobile any day.
  20. what What WHAT? No demand for Iron Monger or Whiplash? (are you high?) : ) In lieu of the several IM armor variants, I feel that an Iron Monger Bigfig and either Whiplash in the Monaco scene or armored Whiplash would be welcome adversaries for minifig Tony. But like the previous poster wrote, Megasucks may hold the license for the first 2 IM flicks. Could be why we didn't get ASM movie sets since, again, Megasucks held licensing for them. Hopefully, the JW vehicles resemble the JP vehicles enough that they will be easy to mod since it sounds like Lego may not be able to touch JP material.
  21. I love the new Electro... ...as Iceman! Sure, it may be problematic translating a being made of elecricity into Lego minifig form, but whatcha gonna do?
  22. I think this is first time I've considered buying a whole damn case of these things and calling it a day. I like each and every one, and I have ideas on parting them out for customizing. $$$$$$! Yikes.
  23. Brilliant! Beautiful details blow this build out of the water! Speaking of which, having a floor to ceiling aquarium filled with sharks is a really cool idea!
