I really enjoy the detail of that ship's cockpit! Having all that greebling under the.trans-black makes for a pretty cool visual.

Perhaps the minifig wearing green in the Javelin with the sleepyhead hair is Kyle Rayner. I can only hope.

Oh my...I forgot about that Mech! I'd love to see that BaB mech.

I don't really need another mech, bat-inspired or no, but I am definitely eagerly anticipating a bat-sub .

2015 The LEGO Movie rumors and discussion
Colossus replied to just2good's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I don't much care for a series consisting solely of small sets. Lego's usual mix of bigger and smaller sets makes more sense. Please gimme a copper chopper already! : ) -
That's a good idea! Cool builds, and I like the colours.

Yeah, you're right. I mean, the touring jeep, the command center, tree habitats, the Jurassic Park itself, and THE DINOSAURS would not make for very interesting sets. At all. JP 3 is where it's at. An abandoned shelter, a crashed airplane, and bottles of dino wiz would make for much better sets for the license.

Actually, the incessant questions asking the same thing about preliminary sets, not even the final product, has been the most annoying thing all flippin' WEEK. I'm as excited as the next guy about new DC sets, but the superhero threads have gone from new info graciously shared by Hulk_Smash to a perpetual nagfest from peeps too lazy to go back a couple pages to read Hulk_Smash's updates. Phew...feel better already. Anyshitz, I could not be more excited about DC Lego sets based on this leaked info. Having a fully realized minifig JLA based on the new team is like a dream come true! On top of that, having the Javelin, Invisible Jet, and such instead of the umpteenth bat-vehicle is just too much. This is like a Golden Age of Superhero Lego, and I'm very happy that I came out of my dark ages to be a part of it.

What custom minifigure do you desire?

Gatchaman! I loved watching Battle of the Planets when I was a kid! A few years ago, someone built a minifig scale Phoenix and it's spectacular! -
All I know is that I already have the port-a-john from the Lego Movie plumber van, a stereotypical lawyer minifig, and a very willing T. Rex ready to reenact one of my most favourite movie scenes ever. I'm good...I'm good. Seriously, tho. I can't wait for more Dino sets! I pray there's an ankylosaurus in the works!

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 12 Rumours and Discussion
Colossus replied to Rufus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I could see where using pink and purple for the CMF bags could cause some confusion. ALL the packaging in the Friends line is pink and purple, even the poly bags. Adults can tell the difference, but maybe not an excited little kid that sees the CMF pink and purple bag and thinks, "Yay! Another Friends polybag!" or whatever. The unsuspecting adult making the purchase thinks nothing of it, and then the kid arrives home to find it's not a Friends set after all. Then the shite hits the proverbial fan. Or some similar scenario. Hell, I'd buy CMF's no matter what color bag in which they come packaged. But I can understand why Lego may not use pink or purple.- 1,109 replies

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Colossus replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
See, I bought the Lego in Space book thinking it was chock full of instructions because I REALLY want to build that updated Galaxy Explorer featured in the book. Unfortunately, the instructions are for the micro builds and a turtle robot. Initially, I was a little perturbed, then saw the book for what it was. By using the techniques showcased in the book, one can make an updated Galaxy Explorer. It's just not there for you in a step by step format. I think it's kinda like The Good Book says, "give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, feed him for life." I see this City book in the same way, and I plan on grabbing a copy for my daughter and I to study. That's a win/win in my book. No pun intended. -
Damn! That thing's a behemoth! The light effects put this build over the top. Very cool.

A Friends head! That's hilarious!

I could see just The Javelin being a $50 US set. It looks about the same size as the X-Jet. I just hope that Lego's jet will seat more than just a couple minifigs. With mods, my X-Jet seats 5-6, I think. I have Baron Sat's Javelin instructions, and I think his build seats at least 6. I wish Lego would just put out a Hero set consisting of The Javelin and 6 minifigs and then a Brainiac set with a corresponding vehicle and 6 minifigs. I hate having these all inclusive sets where it has to be hero/villain, with one or the other just thrown in almost as an afterthought. I understand why it's done, but it's frustrating as hell.

Chum, I got one word for ya: Outrageous!

Wow. This lab scene is so well done that it's eerie. I dunno if it's the lighting or the Ripley minifig using the chair on the window, but geez, that is just too badass.

I finished what little was left of my set last night, and I gotta say, it was fascinating to see how so many tiny bricks went together to assemble the exo-suit. Also, j happened to be watching Pacific Rim at the time, so that added to the experience. But lately, I've been on this steampunk kick, and I think this thing is perfect for a steampunk mod.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Colossus replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Hi. My name is Jason, and I'm a legohaulic. I'd buy the occasional Star Wars or Super Hero set for my kids. I myself hadn't had much play with Lego since I was a wee lad meself. Then I discovered modulars. The pet shop seemed tame enough. It was a quaint little build. However, by the time I completed the set, it was too late. I was bit by the bug. But I'm not ashamed of my habit. Luckily, I have 2 dealers a short drive away. When I need a little fix I drive to an independent dealer in Canton. When I'm hankering for a big score, I go to the main dealer at the Lego store in Cleveland. Being a VIP member helps take the edge off the higher priced items. There's a problem, tho. My 8 year old daughter loves Lego too. She gets her kicks from building Friends and Lego movie sets. Unfortunately, she got to my Mixer set and burned through that in a week. My exo-suit? She knocked that out the day I got. It was hidden in my dresser drawer. When I got home from work, the set was scattered on the table nearly completed. I asked her, "Where'd you learn to build like that?!?". Her response was, "I learned it from you, OK?" It was one of the proudest moments of my life. -
The Arctic sets look great, but I just don't have the funds. Besides, I don't think I could resist the urge to MOC it into the Antarctic U.S outpost in John Carpenter's remake of The Thing. That movie scared the bejeezus out of me when I was a kid. Brick built space aliens can be a real challenge.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2014 Rumors & Discussion
Colossus replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
I just took the kids to see TMNT at the drive-in theatre last night. I figure, even if TMNT smells of rotten cabbage and Old Bay, the second feature, Guardians o' the Galaxy, prevents it from being a total loss. Anyhoo, Spoiler Alert--> Tower finale scene totally ripped off from The Amazing Spider-Man. Poison gas sprayed from high point in NYC. Even the location. The exact same tower. Also, it look like they went with the turtles' and Splinter's origin from the latest comic book series. Megan Fox as April? Poor casting choice. Turtles in CGI are more believable. Despite this, I didn't totally hate the movie. It was a good action romp. Annnnndddd...back on topic. I like the new turtle van. It's held up better for me compared to the Nick version. The new lair has a little more playability compared to the Nick version. However, I think if I swap out some pieces based on color choice from the Nick set, I can combine it with the movie lair set. -

I assembled my Ecto-1 over the weekend, and I gotta say that it was a very fun build! It called for some very interesting build techniques. However, the minifigs n brick built proton packs are the icing on the cake. I have to look, but I think some customizer like Brickarms or somebody makes custom ghost traps and PKE meters. BTW, last night i just saw the trailer for the 30th anniversary screening for GB coming up at the end of August. I. Can't. Wait! -
Well done! Looks to be the first of many vignettes based on my favourite gunslinger!
