2015 The LEGO Movie rumors and discussion
Colossus replied to just2good's topic in Special LEGO Themes
CS or GS or some line needs to put out a damn space base already. I was lucky enough to find my old CS Lego tucked away in my parents' basement to piece the old set together. It's complete with trans yellow plates and the 6x6 square blue brick with the monitor screen print on it. However, it would be nice to have an updated CS base. I've been dismantling sets to make space, and I've noticed that I have hardly any blue bricks. Almost everything is light or dark grey and black. Great if I'm Batman, lousy for Benny builds, so to speak. Bricklink, here I come! -
Man, remember when this forum was about discussing Lego and not getting personal with the arguing? Good times...good times...

Good damn gravy! $130 for the icebreaker set? I figured $90-100 tops. I'm assuming that boat hull piece is jacking the price up on the set.

Talk about being over a barrel! And that sweaty CMF head is hilarious.

The LEGO Movie Sets News and Discussion
Colossus replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Based on the SDCC reveal of a new Angry Kitty, Batman, and skeletron, I'm curious what the main build of the set will be. I figure it has to be from the end of the film based on the minifigs, but is it gonna be a larger scale TAKOS? The Infinitieth Floor scene with Business and Emmet with a capped Kragle? Bricksville town square environment for Taco Tuesday, complete with a dry cleaner and Overpriced Coffee Chain store? Maybe it's a buttload of micromanagers. I can't wait to see!- 2,626 replies

Lego is more than a toy. It's more than a highly sophisticated system of interlocking bricks. It's a creative medium. And it can bring people together. Just like music, literature, cooking. Please don't minimalize what Lego may mean to somebody.

Thank God it's only The Collector. I was worried for a second. I'm very grateful one of the Marvel exclusives is a C-lister character like The Collector, a hoarder with a spaceship instead of a mobilehome, as opposed to some other character that has icon status. Give it a couple weeks, and some customizer will have The Collector available for 15 bucks, compete with frilled cape and probably even better leg printing. I'm curious. Who's the next reveal? Bring on Stilt Man and The Drummer!

Wow. That's beautiful! It has the feel of a splash page completed in Lego form, and that's just too damn cool.

LEGO Collectable Minifigure Accessories Wishlist
Colossus replied to lifeinplastic's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I'd like to have a shaolin monk, complete with a trans-clear 1x1 cheese wedge with a stud on top to simulate a kicking pose when the minifig is placed on top. Please! -
I love this build! The custom labels are a great touch, and the head in the freezer is cute too. Those eyeballs are very well done!

That doesn't narrow it down much. Pureed food and diapers are enjoyed by the young and (very) old. ; ) I kid, I kid! All kidding aside, was WB referring to the D2C reveal or to the SDCC Minifigure?

Good point. I'm really hoping the whole exclusive minifigure idea gets scrapped, and maybe resort to a preview figure. Have something special for attendees that will eventually be released to the rest of the Lego-loving world at some point in the future.

AYLIFFE ANALYSES: 5002812 classic spaceman (a review)
Colossus replied to AyliffeMakit's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Yay! When does this set land in the States? -
There's nothing wrong with 5-6 sets of Classic Space to placate us OFOL's (Old Farts of Lego). If the line sells well, churn out a few more sets. I found one of my old CS space base sets complete with the moon crater plates, trans-yellow plates, little monorail, and my Reds and Whites. It's my son's new favourite set, especially since it had a cameo in The Lego Movie. If I recall, an environment set was never included in the Galaxy Squad line. Kinda odd since you'd think spacemen would need a base from which to operate. But hey, necessity is the mother of invention, so it looks like Benny's gotta get to work on moonbase, Moonbase, MOONBASE!

I know I'm down for two sets!

Word! A UCS Superhero set wasted on half a kilo of a black wad of bricks with wheels. For half the $$$ I have a minifigure-scale Tumbler from Artifex. Just as detailed and actually fits with the rest of my Lego collection.

Aye, my Lego budget suffers greatly from this sluggish economy. Mayhap Lego and (insert name of comic book publisher here) would benefit from designing smaller Superhero sets consisting of one or two minifigs in a vignette. Spidey vs. Aunt May, with Pete sneaking into his bedroom window in his Spidey duds and about to be discovered by May, or an X-Men set with a minifig or two and an obstacle from the Danger Room. How about Red Tornado and some trans-clear red ice cream pieces to make a vortex, and an Amazo figure on which to use said vortex? We AFOL's get the minifigs we crave, and parents of KidFOL's can leave the toy aisle unscathed with a Lego set for their children that doesn't blow the budget as badly as a $50 set. Besides, I'm into the Superhero sets more for the minifigs. I find myself complaining about the build of a lousy Sentinel when its within my ability to just make one myself. That's what Lego is all about anyway. It's a highly sophisticated interlocking brick system with which I can make my own damn X-Mansion, or whatever.

Mars...what a bunch of hooey. Why, back in my day, we were satisfied strapping a rocket on some guy's @ss and having him orbit Earth a few times inside a tin can. And we liked it! We don't have the money, time, or interest to take care of THIS planet; but we do to terraform another planet just to overpopulate it and wring it dry too. Aaaaaaaand, back to the topic. I'll take anything in CS colors. And printed pieces. No damn degradeable, cheesy stickers, please.

I love.that book! I got a lot out of it, particularly his SNOT technique to build wings on my ship.

You said the word, "Bat", like a thousand times. : ) While I'm sure Lego designers could make some fantastic vehicles for any hero, I think it comes down to what DC is willing to market. I think DC is so spooked thinking that nothing but Bat-stuff sells. Think about the recent non-movie related Marvel sets that have been released: MODOK's lab, The Daily Bugle. DC characters could easily be swapped into a similar environment-type set. Make a lab for Braniac, make The Daily Planet. Or, looking at the Avengers' Quinjet. Make a JLA Javelin set in a similar size. I dunno, just spitballin' here.
