To quote Blue Beetle from the Justice League International comics, "Bwaaaaahahahaha!" The picture with Wonder Woman sitting in the jet on the table is hilarious!

Review: Lego 10244 Fairground Mixer - Creator Series
Colossus replied to VintageLegoEra's topic in LEGO Town
Sounds good to me! I could use a decent ferris wheel, carousel, and, (gasp) a roller coaster! -
I don't care where it was posted. I'm just very happy to see it posted somewhere! This build is amazing! Thank you!

Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion
Colossus replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
I was thinking the same thing. Let's hope so. In regards to a $300 Helicarrier...why? The Helicarrier is so large, even a $300 version won't be big enough to do it justice. Consider the UCS Death Star, its size, its $400 price tag, and WHEN it was released. Lego was definitely cheaper back then, even adjusting for inflation. Something more current? There's the UCS Super Star Destroyer. $400 for that. How about a $300 X-Mansion and/or Avengers Mansion; something that will fit a $300 price tag and look good doing it. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 12 Rumours and Discussion
Colossus replied to Rufus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I must have hit my local Target at an opportune time because I was able to score a few Spooky Girls and a couple Huns. And for $2.99! I sure feel like an megablocks for paying $4/minifig last week at the Lego Store. Also, is it just me, or is the Space Miner's helmet just too cool? Compared to the colors and detail, the other space helmets look kinda "blah".- 1,109 replies

Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion
Colossus replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
Yay. New Secret Wars= even more Avengers n GOTG. Good Lord, even my son is tired of Avengers. And that's saying something. There's a whole buttload of the Marvel Universe that has yet to be exploited and milked for all it's worth. Regardless, I hope Lego does get involved with this for some comic-based sets. -
That is one freaky pic. Looks like an ad for NAMBLA. Yikes.I wish I could un-see it!

Well, if there's only one lady in that sausagefest, then I'd imagine the population density would be greatest around said lady. However, I don't see that displayed here. Your guess is as good as mine.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Colossus replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
As an OFOL (Old Fart Of Lego), I'm more interested in a good, solid build for the opportunity to customize the interior and make my own scenario. I enjoy the build for the learning experience from being shown new building techniques, appreciating the work that went into designing the build, and then using it as an base for putting my own spin on it. I don't need spoonfed a scenario that compromises the scale of the build. I really like the PR, but it's kinda tiny for a $160 modular. If this upcoming modular is gonna follow suit and be another small build for the sake of an alleyway, then I'm gonna be very disappointed in this direction Lego is going. It looks cheap. -
Excellent use for ice cream pieces! The soldier looking to his right as his buddy is taken down is simply hilarious. "What the...?!? " Overall, I really enjoy the detail of the build, and the sense of action conveyed through you positioning of the minifigs.

Its not the greebling so much. I could leave it. It's the fact that so many smaller plates, wedges, and studs form this cohesive figure. I guess I'm not used to that. Since I came out of my dark ages, I've been collecting modulars along with whatever sets I'm building with my kids. In these sets, form and structure come from 1x4, 1x8, and larger bricks, not minute pieces that I'm accustomed to being used simply for greebling.

Is the Exo-suit worth it? Does it hurt like hell when you step on a 2×2 brick in your bare feet at 4 in the morning? The answer is a resounding, "yes"! It's amazing to see what looks like a box full of greebling become the exo-suit.

Nothing but good things to say about the Cleveland Lego Store! The service is always good. On slow days, the guys usually give my kids something extra, like stickers or a coloring page, etc. Hell, last May, an employee overheard me reassuring my daughter that buying a pricey set was cool for her birthday, and he comes back, offering a sheet of stickers and a birthday cake mini build. Free o' charge. They also introduced me to that digital box or whatever that thing is that scans the Lego set box and then plays out a little animated scene in the box you're holding. That is just too cool. I love that thing!

REVIEW: 71007 LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 12
Colossus replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Rummaging through the bin at the Lego Store, I was able to find a full set w/o any difficulty. There were easily 3-4 of each minifigure. Unfortunately, confused the prospector's hat with that of the cavalier. $4 wasted. Plus side: double VIP points, yo!- 156 replies

There's more than one way to make them fly. A few months ago, the kids n I were playing the John Williams' Superman theme while playing with the superhero minifigs when my daughter said she wished Wonder Woman could fly like Superman. I looked up and received a great inspiration from above. The ceiling fan. A little packaging tape, some fishing line, and a set of more than willing superhero minifigures were rigged up in no time. Before you could say, "Look! Up in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane..." Superman, Storm, a ghost minifig, and of course, Wonder Woman; were flying in our living room at speeds fast enough to make the Earth spin backwards and reverse time. For bonus points, accelerate the speed of the ceiling fan along with the tempo shift at the beginning of the Superman Theme. You will believe a Minifigure can fly. BTW, turning off the lights and watching the glow in the dark minifigs go through their paces is a veritable hoot.

Hilarious! I just sprayed coffee all over the monitor. Thanks for that.

Lord of the Rings minifigs custom
Colossus replied to Tomcat RIO's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Wow. Your work on Arden is superb. But, then seeing all the customization that went into Legolas, I was left speechless by your skill. So...good thing I'm typing here. The vambraces and cloak really add to the Minifigure, but that custom quiver is a work of art. Mighty fine work, so thanks for sharing! -
You and me both! I was really hoping to see classic cars done in Minifigure scale, I suppose. While these builds are really slick, they are not what I expected.

Very well! Thanks again, everyone!

Could you imagine if Lego did an Ultimate Collectors Series with Modulars instead of Star Wars stuff? I bet this would make one helluva candidate for its first release. I mean, I paid $400 for a Death Star, and that is a huge build with tons of minifigures, but that was before Lego started getting greedy.

Hey, fellow brickers! I was perusing through reviews on all the Creator house sets, and my kids are pretty keen on them. However, some of the older, out of circulation sets are $100+ USD. My question is this: are there any unique pieces/parts to these sets, or could I just download the instructions and parts inventory and simply go to town Bricklinking them? I'd like to have them for my kids to play with and, let's face it, eventually destroy n rebuild, but I'd rather not pay modular set prices. Thanks for anyone's input!

Minifig-scale, huh? Good thing I have 2 kidneys, because I'm gonna have to sell one to keep up with all these 2015 sets.
