  1. Superb. Great idea and great execution. Very good job on the lighting of the MOC.
  2. Well done - and very funny.
  3. 167B Hello once more, I've been busily building stuff in October, so here is another MOC - and once again the ship is pretty small. I have called it "El Principito" (The Little Prince) :pir-sweet: I wanted to build a ship that is not based on a usual hull. Having started in white, it soon became obvious that it had to be a Spanish ship (following the example of the "Armada Flagship" in the old days). Also, the galion was hinting in this direction. Spanish!!! Captain Eduardo is quite happy with his ship and his crew of conquistadors: The ship is not too heavily armed... Here it is sailing away... .. but there is one strange guy on board - maybe he is the real captain: :monkey: I am quite happy with the result (although the model has a tendency to topple...) A storyline regarding the adventures of the Spanish crew of the "El Principito" is in preparation. I hopy you like the MOC - I am waiting for feedback.
  4. Thank you for your kind comments. I might consider changing the rear sail, but actually, I really wanted it to look THIS WAY. (There goes historical accuracy...) Well, having seen the Golden Hinde in London I must say that in those days brave captains really sailed across the seven seas in nutshells small ships. Maybe they were ketches. I don't know. ("Ketch" actually does not sound too good. You know, like "you need to ketch up")
  5. Impressive! The choice of colors is bold, but works out amazingly well! From an architectural point of view this is a unique masterpiece. (i.e. I have not seen a house like this, therefore I assume it is unique).
  6. Terrific! I am impressed by the 3 winning models - and I like the Lotus most of all (having tried myself, and having failed )
  7. Soo many ships - and another good looking one (though being virtual -> no need to worry about stability of the masts, right? ). I am happy to see the extensive use of yellow as colour (which is a habit of myself - and which is from my pov perfectly in line with what the British have done). The stern shown above is, of course, much more advanced. Really nice. Are you sharing some LDD data?
  8. Great MOC, well built - highly enjoyable! The water is fine too (I am currently working on water myself and there are many ways to be disappointed ). I don't recall the head from the castle line, though. I need to check (which fraction was it from? Red or black?)
  9. This is fantastic. Thanks for also sharing insights into "how it was done". Really great!
  10. I am surprised to find that I have not yet commented on the Green Schooner. This is truely an ambitious project - and the pictures show very fine progress to date. It's going to be excellent - brick on! I am looking forward to further pics. I would suggest the inclusion of a monkey in the crew, however, this would not fit to your realistic approach.
  11. 167A Ahoy, I am happy to present a brigg [sorry: it seems to be "brig" in English] with custom sails - the India (because of the galion): I have tried custom sails before but without the custom rigging. This time I am quite happy about the result. Then I found that the pictures look much better with a decent blue background: The crew is famous, as usual I hope you enjoy this (small) brigg and I am looking forward to comments that tell me that the "rear sail" is incorret . So, we sail into the sunset: ... wishing everyone a nice weekend! (P.S.: Don't try to search for "Lego Brig". Some clever algorithm is sure that you meant "Lego brick". I hate programs that try to be intelligent...)
  12. Hi! These mortars have drawn a surprising high level of interest. Therefore, I have prepared an update: The Royal Horse Artillery are trying out a new model: Surprisingly, at the same time, some other guys are working on their own mortar: Enjoy!
  13. Fantastic. Your work on model and photography is sheer excellence. Actually, at first glance I mistook the first picture for a real ship (which you might have taken as blueprint for your model...) it is so utterly realistic. (I wish I could take such decent pictures of my models)
  14. Great! Your gangs, especially the "Queen's Dandies" have turned out well. You must have put a lot of effort into these minifigs to give them a coherent, but still individual look. Excellent!
  15. What a beautiful village. Well done!
  16. Nice build, nice tower. Perhaps a bit more of snow in winter (and fewer leaves). I like the path that leads to the tower. Very good idea.
  17. I like this very much. So, to say it is "horrible" must be seen as a compliment in this context Good job on the custom fence too (just to name one of the many good details in the MOC).
  18. Very good submarines. And colorfull too! (I wonder what people would say if somebody used yellow extensively on e.g. pirate ships... ) The underwater effect has turned out well too, amazing to see all the red color disappear. The "swordfish" reminds me of Tintin adventures.
  19. Yes Yes Yes
  20. I perfectly agree, but would like to add "6280 Armada Flagship".
  21. This is so true, I was about to say that (too late) Probably our imagination is heavily influenced by Pirates of the Carribean... To get back to the initial question: Sebeus has a point here (same epaulettes as the "obvious" soldier). However, standard soldiers were not armed with pistols. So, what about "Lieutenant"? In any case I can hardly wait until these sets will come out. And, whatever we may find missing, I will definetely BUY them! ALL OF THEM!!! And, having seen the return of redcoats, now bluecoats I would hope for the Spanish guys in 2-3 years time!
  22. Thank you for your friendly comments. I would like to answer a few: Yes, the monkey is missing. It has become something like my signature figure... I'll post two below to make up. You are most likely referring to the choice of yellow. I always felt that the British ships used a color which is "in between" of tan and yellow. What I probably will do (when I update the ship next time) is to exchange the lowest layer of yellow with a layer of black. As Kabel said, it is a matter of taste. I also like bright colors! Sails ... yes, next time. But it takes time (and some practise). On the other hand, once you have all the sails, you can hardly see the ship Realistic water: I have tried that for the "Royal Monkey" (http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=99608) It turned out that I did not have enough of these little blue bricks... As the Jupiter is larger than the "Royal Monkey" it will not work out until I find lots of transparent dark blue round plates. Thanks for liking her. Stern gallery: Good point for the next update. Brick built guns: As I do not own any megablocks I am absolutely safe in not using them. I have used one strange brick which is purely lego (and which really is strange). Let me show you some more details about the different cannons: The strange brick is 4569407 (to be found in http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/10222_Winter_Village_Post_Office#). The other one: I thought they would be done this way until I saw Sebeus' solution, which allows a slightly lower position of the barrel (?). Bye
  23. Excellent! A great frost dragon, good roof technique, nicely build interior - what else could we wish for. Well done!
  24. This is so fantastic, I can sit and watch the pictures for hours, finding details and enjoying the overall design. Perfect!
