(Update November 15th) Aloha! as Kabel is missing a decent pirate beach, here's an update: Some of my friends are having cake on the beach: And something that happened to Emmet seems to be happening to Kurigan: Have a nice weekend! - - - orginal post - - - - - - orginal post - - -- - - orginal post - - -- - - orginal post - - -- - - orginal post - - -- - - orginal post - - -- - - orginal post - - -- - - orginal post - - - Ahoy, following my aim to keep the forum alive and active, here's another post which allows me to roughly keep up with my recent posting frequency of 1 MOC per week. Coming out of an experiment of how to create a decent beach design, the beach suddenly found itself crowded - somehow looking interesting. So, here it is, for all you other island builders: The "Saturday Afternoon Pirate Beach": It's not the best day for Emmet: .. but luckily it was just a joke: :pir-grin: Other beings enjoy the beach and the fruit it brings: ... but LOTR-guys definitely have a hard time on PIRATE BEACH: Enjoy, and have a nice weekend, and I would be happy to read your comments. AND KEEP POSTING PIRATE MOCS!!!

UNIQUE! Ok, does this mean we are going a steampunk way or a cartoonish way? Brick on!

2015 LEGO Pirates Rumors and Discussion
Captain Braunsfeld replied to Yawgmoth's topic in LEGO Pirates
There is a crocodile eye - seems I'm seeing this for the first time. Anyway, as much as the set looks like something we've seen before, I will still buy it and am intrigued about the new small cannon approach. This is what they have for the new agents as well, right? In comparison, I prefer 70410 Soldiers Outpost. -
I like it very much. The tower is very good. Let's combine our two islands
-
This has turned out well! I like the vampire crypt and the spooky girl tree the most. Welcome to Eurobricks - Brick On!
-
This is really amazing - at first I thought it was meant to be steampunk of some kind, but it must be fantasy. The pictures on flickr are great. This is not a MOC this is a collection of great MOCs.

I haven't seen such a LOVELY halloween set before. Great job!

If you take the example of 4207 City Garage you will find that the cars are typically short, like in many European countries - in contrast to the stretch limo approach in North America. As minifigures do not drive on the left-hand side they must reside in continental Europe. The cars do not have dashcams, Russia is excluded. So, this shortens Sir E Fullner's list. Norway? I can't recall any fjord set. Denmark? I would not bet on it. I've been there many times and (if I remember correctly) they are very friendly (minifigs usually smile) but they do not have palm trees, which we often find in the sets. Minifigs usually smile - this rules out Hungary, as people are currently upset about coming internet tax. The winner is: Czech Republic! (Who would have thought...)

I love this. The lighthouse - the rock work - and your city is already quite big. Wouldn't this also be a fine lighthouse for the pirate forum? Picture 2 has some cannons! How have you done the palm trees?

MEC Cat. A - Tom Bombadil's House
Captain Braunsfeld replied to vitreolum's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I can hardly see what you are unhappy with. This is great! I see a fantastic home for Tom and a very interesting front garden. Very good custom doors (ok, you've done them before) - everything else also fine. Having seen some of your work before, I must say it is all of the highest standard. Hats off to you! Any close-ups of Tom? -
MEC Cathegory B: The hobbit cottage
Captain Braunsfeld replied to Star2705's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
A nice build - excellent work on the interior. I also like the way the front wall has been structured. -

Great idea, fine execution. Definitely one of the scenes of the film that is missing as a set. -
MEC Category C: The Wrath of Smaug

Small but effective. I don't want to repeat that this is a nice use of the Eye of Sauron ... And I definetely want to buy your Advent Calendar!!!- 4 replies

Looks good. I like the gallion, the front-mortar (is it a mortar?) and the custom cannons (can we get a close-up of these?). - and the lanterns! (Sails seem to be easy to handle in LDD...)

(MOC) Modular Amsterdam Canal House Art Gallery
Captain Braunsfeld replied to happer's topic in LEGO Town
Great, I feel reminded of my visit to Amsterdam earlier this year. The roof design is very good. Are you planning to build some more canal houses to make it a street? And: What is the little sign above the door?- 21 replies

Would be a good addition to "Iron Sky"
-
Very well done. Everything being modular, very fine. And then the huge cantina is perfectly well crowded with beings from all over the galaxy. I am impressed.
-
This is great. It is difficult to decide what to praise first? The mosaic? The minifigs? The overall design of the throne room (the throne itself)? All is fitting together very well. Great job!

Great set - I'd buy it! I like the playability. -
MEC Category B: Gandalf’s Retreat
Captain Braunsfeld replied to cesbrick's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
The roof is incredible - also groundwork and plants are excellent. Is that Aragorn lurking about on the side of the set? -
MEC Category A: Vingilot - Ship of Eärendil
Captain Braunsfeld replied to Srbandrews's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Well done. I have not seen such a good boat-modification for some time. Great idea to have him take off the helmet! -
This is definetely a missing set. Well done. The Balrog has turned out really huge. I would not want to meet one

El Mono - a medium-sized Spanish vessel
Captain Braunsfeld replied to Dreamweb's topic in Pirate MOCs
Very nice - especially the monkey as a gallion which I admire very much. Apart from that I thought "mono" was somehow referring to the very blueish choice of colors (=one color). People think my ships are too yellow - they will say that this is too blue it is a fine model, a lot of work has gone into the details. Also good that its a modular build. 100% playable. New custom cannons! I haven't seen these before. What about adding some golden decoration elements at the stern? (Ladders have been noticed!) Brick on! -
[MOC] Probably 6265 Sabre Island Revisited
Captain Braunsfeld replied to Captain Braunsfeld's topic in Pirate MOCs
I have been practising for a few years... and I am fine with the rock. But I also see other MOCers bringing in different approaches (SNOT-stuff, etc.) Oops. It seems you're right. I was lucky to buy the 6265 set in Belgium during a BrickMania event (well, it was the "brick equivalent" of the set). And I purchased another blue coat minifig as it was in good shape. I probably mixed it with the set. Meant no offense to all the blue coats out there! Well spotted. I always loved those red bricks shining through in the old pirate sets. Monkey shrine - you are hinting into the right direction. I am preparing some storyline/comic using the island and the ships I posted recently. 100% !!! So, this is how the secret door opens (a rock piece slides away): And this is how you get through the waterfall: I would probably try a different waterfall approach next time, but then it would not "open" anymore. Thanks for the kind comments! -
"Battle of Mollwitz" - an EPIC Brickfilm!
Captain Braunsfeld replied to woody64's topic in Pirate MOCs
Amazing... Hard to imagine how much work has flown into this to make it happen. Kind of epic
