It is compact and still it looks right - this is Minas Tirith. Well done!

CCCXII – Black Hollow Village
Captain Braunsfeld replied to cesbrick's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
What can I say - what can I add? It is great, looks like a comic. Fantastic to see so many really different (and new) roof techniques. And each door is custom made and unique .... and the landscape works out fine ... and ... and The improvisation seems to have turned out well. This village really comes to life. -
A good idea. I am already curious what we will find tomorrow (and afterwards)...

Well done. The combination of "new" and "old" really works out well. Plus the photography is excellent!- 9 replies

Agents (2008/9) - Villain's Lair
Captain Braunsfeld replied to Xyver's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I like it. First for bringing back the agent topic to life, but also for this new architectural approach. This is unique. Well done! -
Adventurers - Sinister family Mansion
Captain Braunsfeld replied to Murdoch17's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Very good, you also remembered Lord Sinister. The mansion is fine - the car is great!! I would recommend to reserve a room for the treasures that Lord Sinister keeps.- 6 replies

Adventurers - Johnny Thunder's Office
Captain Braunsfeld replied to Murdoch17's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Nice to see that someone has not forgotton good old Johnny Thunder. I am just worrying that this looks a bit too modern, doesn't it? Where would he put a crocodile on the wall (or whatever else he brought back from his adventures)?- 5 replies

makes me hungry! Very colourful - nice!

Great stuff. Finally I see someone putting all the nice monster fighters pieces together - the Count's castle is much better than the official attempts. I cannot say much about the rockwork as your approach is very similar to mine. Some folks in the pirate forum have done fantastic work here. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=98276 (This is using different colours). Brick on!

Would you recommend 10243 Parisian Restaurant?
Captain Braunsfeld replied to BrickSev's topic in LEGO Town
The PR is a beautiful set and it uses several advanced building techniques. However, that in itself does not support brickfilms. You can use the outside of the restaurant, but in order to add scenes inside the restaurant, you would need to build it without some of the walls. And for different shots you would need to swap walls. Sounds cumbersome. The PR might not be able to drive the action in your films - the upcoming bar/detective house could be the better choice. -
USS Enterprise from ST2009/Into Darkness
Captain Braunsfeld replied to hachiroku's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Good! A nice and affordable version of the USS Enterprise. -
There's a strong push towards bluecoats in the forum these days. (As I understand, your bluecoats belong to the Netherlands.) And they get another nice and fast ship - excellent! Good job in modifying the LOTR-ship. Sails look much nicer this way.
-
A nice build! Good to see the two ships engaging. I noted that the crew has white hats. The bicornes usually come in black. Did you paint them or find them in white somewhere?

Finbar the Fantastical Firework-maker
Captain Braunsfeld replied to Legonardo's topic in Guilds of Historica
Fantastic. Impossible what you are able to do with those bricks (that are supposed to be placed in a strictly rectangular way ) Strange good use of colors! -
Bk II Ch III - Men B - Drow Diplomacy

MOC and lighting are fantastic (already before the editing). Makes me curious to find out more about the use of LED stripes. -
MOC/MOD: Rivendell and Erebor
Captain Braunsfeld replied to Skystorm87's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
A good idea to combine dwarfes and elves in one large MOC. Looks good. What I would suggest for improvement is to apply (lots of) grey slopes to smoothen the mountain. -
I like it (although the owner himself looks a bit sceptical). Great job on the interior, esp. scales and cash register. Where is the chrome silver brick coming from?

CCCXII - The Forestmen's Cunning Heist
Captain Braunsfeld replied to Dubbadgrim's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I'm a fan of your work. This is the third great MOC I have seen from you in a very short time. You have really worked out the art of telling a story in a single picture, a single MOC (while using expert building techniques!). The tunnel is great and the landscape above is so nicely harmless. I hope that our heroes will make their escape in time! -
Very good - overall look has drastically improved. I like the door!

Thieves Guild from Riddle of Regicide
Captain Braunsfeld replied to Thrash's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
The custom figures are great! (I also like the doors very much.) -
Bluecoats rule! The use of tan and white for the tower works out well. Solid rockwork - and a good approach for the water too! I also like the plants on the beach and the palm trees. I definitely need to rework mine. I also saw that you have included a "dark blue" bluecoat. And I thought you were a bluecoat purist! Nice MOC, brick on! (and thanks for having me in your MOC)

Beautiful - nicely laid out and fittingly populated!

I am happy to see so many comments. The number of comments sometimes seems to be related to the effort that went into the MOC. At other times, I am just surprised (I had expected more feedback on the island MOC). So, having admitted that I was not happy with the pictures, I have taken some new ones (and have edited the initial post). More will follow below, but now let me answer to your comments: Yes. Being inspired by other MOCs I have seen I wanted to try this out. You know, it's a jungle. Everything can be found in there! The river is supposed to be fast flowing. Trans green is a nice idea for a swamp. Unfortunately, all I have is trans blue... You are right. The river is flowing. This MOC is supposed to be part of a longer storyline - however, aztecs and mayas will not appear (in the first chapters). Yepp. Snake hanging from the bush/tree. The river actually moves a bit from left to right and back, but being covered by the plants this effect just disappears in the final MOC. "Waves" - maybe. Maybe next time. So, one more new photo: And this became a bit blueish:

This is fantastic. Great idea and great execution! Wow!
