  1. Great (digital) customizing work, however this has been done. Some of your 3d creations appear in some of my MOCs.
  2. Yes, it's meant to be CUTE!!!
  3. Great - I knew there was some MOC which inspired me to use those strange black strings for the rigging Ok, now that you've perfectly mastered this in LDD, when are you going to start the real build? And the monkey is missing . Apart from that: praise, praise, praise.
  4. Very beautiful - well done! Fantastic job on the rigging. And a monkey is included! The diligent work also covers the crew. The guys look great (well, maybe John Silver looks a bit too friendly, which is probably ok according to the first half of the book). Don't worry that it's a Schooner. It is still a very fine ship.
  5. A really ambitious project - looks great so far. (pity the latest brickshelf additions are not yet public ) Brick on! I hope you don't lose your motivation now, but I perfectly understand. All of my ships are being done quickly when it comes to hull and lower decks. Masts and rigging are cumbersome. Bows are terrible, sterns only work out sometimes You're much more advanced - so keep going!!!
  6. Looks good - I like the skull too. Photos are fine too. You might want to link them to this post by using the "Image" icon and by using the link to the picture. (There must be a tutorial for this somewhere ...)
  7. Welcome back - we've been missing you and your MOCs. This is fantastic! (What shall I praise - the water? The islands? Everything is of highest standard) And I found the pirate, chased by monkeys again (this needs to go into my list of "Monkeys and Pirates"-MOCs!
  8. Ahoy, I wanted to get back to my beloved monkey-topic. For starters, this is my MOC "Monkey and Pirate" I hope this monkey statue is not too terrifying... Then I have been gathering some information on the field which I would like to share with you, because some guys have done extraordinary work in the field of "Monkeys and Pirates". I have included links when "Other People's MOCs" (OPMOCs) have been referred to (not posting them). [i hope that this is not violating the forum's etiquette.] On Monkey-Driven-Design & Pirates Ever since "6270 Forbidden Island" came out in 1989 monkeys have been a part of the Lego Pirates Theme (even more prominently in "6235 Buried Treasure" also in 1989). http://www.1000stein...ages/6235-1.jpg They have fought for treasure, sailed the seven seas and wreaked havoc wherever possible in search of gold and bananas. This inspired me to my approach of "monkey-driven design" (not to be confused with model-driven design) and I have tried to include monkeys in one way or another in all of my models. But luckily, I am not alone in this. So I would like to take the opportunity to take a look around at who is building dioramas with monkeys in them. One thing that caught my eye sometime back was this creation by Rod Gilles called "In The Temple of the Monkey God": https://www.flickr.c...57629385196613/ It's a bit sinister but excellent nevertheless. (Rod is doing fantastic steam-punk things, really awesome) This was my inspiration for my "The Temple of the Monkey God" http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=86802 Just recently "TAKKATA" has presented a series of MOCs in this very forum, which had monkeys in them and which were fantastic. Unfortunately I have not seen more of TAKKATA. "Monkey Run - Skara Kikos" by TAKKATA http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=98846 "Temple Boom" http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=98449 "The Falls of Skara Kikos" http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=97814 (Maybe I got the sequence wrong) This film was also a perfect example of monkey-pirate interaction: Escape from Sabre Island - A Brickfilm by dastolidigital http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=93968 MESTARI's MOC also has its fair share of monkey inclusion: "[MOC] Small soldiers' outpost" by MESTARI http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=94519 with a very classic feel to it. "[MOC] Sabre Island" by vitreolum http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=98100 has a small monkey on a raft (terrific MOC). "PTC - Yatkuu/6Kyubi6 - The Shark Reef" by YATKUU http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=93211 Shark Reef was built carefully and cleverly and did not forget its monkey. "Monkey Madness PTV-small" by LEGOKING http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=23407 featuring a monkey in a leading role. "[M.O.C.] Monkey Island Minifigures" by LEGO_LEGIS_LEGERE http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=73556 monkey is a "must" in here. "A Pirate Knitting" by PIXELDUDE http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=33956 is so funny. "Pirate Animal Costumes" by FALLENTOMATO http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=24727 is a fair attempts at a custom made monkey custume. "PTC - Captain Nemo/MstrOfPppts" by MSTROFPPPTS http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=93209 features a monkey armed with a pistol. But "Monkey Battle of Passage Fort" by COMMODORE HORNBRICKER http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=29751 features a horde of fiercly fighting primates. A lot of action in here. "Battle for the Fountain of Youth" - by SIMON_S http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=98276 has a small monkey in a tree. This was what I have found to far. Forgive me, the monkey-included MOC-list might not be complete. Coming back to my contributions, I have created "The Flying Monkey" http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=84523 "MOC: Palace Jaune Banane" http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=92916 and recently: "MOC: HMS Royal Monkey" http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=99608 and I hope to continue in that way. My wish for the future is to see some more "Monkey & Pirate" creations here - so, brick on! - edit April 11th 2015 - I found Walter's great contribution, so I need to link it here. "An adventure brews" "X marks the spot"
  9. Matthias, yes, the "India" could be turned into a "Hansekogge". Then they also wouldn't have to travel so far
  10. A lot of action going on - well captured. Brick on!
  11. Hello, TLG have put out a creator set allowing to put together a monkey. I was largely disappointed, so I had to create my own version of how a monkey should be: (Eyes can be adjusted ) Your feedback is welcome - I hope you like this monkey as much as I do.
  12. Terrific! Where can I buy one?
  13. Great banner - esp. on the backgrounds.
  14. Fine building - fitting well with the existing buildings. Excellent job on interior too!
  15. Hello, now, it is time to present a fortress on an island that is inspired by 6265 "Sabre Island": And I am very happy to do so: As you may recall, the Sabre Island set as a blue coat rowing towards the island. My island version is slightly bigger... There is a brave guard awaiting the boat: Aerial view (not historically correct ) On one side of the island we find a waterfall (through which you get into the inside of the rock) On the other side there is a cave (with a secret door that this unlucky guy obviously did not find) The different levels of fortress and rock are accessible .. and everything is modular: (The monkey will come in later) The white background makes it easier to spot a few things: I hope you like this island fortress - and I am looking forward to comments and questions!
  16. Very well done, Kabel, with a decent color scheme! I like the custom rigging too. Looks great. Any pictures with a rear view?
  17. Hi, I have used exactly those black and grey hull parts, just a few days back. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=101158
  18. I did not mean to blame all of you brave commenters! Sorry, if it came across this way. I wanted to state that there has been more interaction and feedback in the past months. Thanks. That was my cunning plan I have used something called "Cockpit 10 x 6 x 2 Curved " twice. It can be found in many sets, e.g. "T-6 Jedi Shuttle" and others.
  19. Very helpful, very clever. I am still struggling with taking pictures of my creations..
  20. Welcome BossFight! Very true - and you can add a lot of action. And you can take it more seriously (building decent, historically accurate models) or build some funny things with monkeys, etc. We have been lucky to see all of this in the MOC forum.
  21. This is great - I will support it!
  22. Thanks for commenting. Initially I was a bit shocked to not see any replies for some 27 hours, despite having posted on the weekend. No, this is LEGO. That's the torso my policemen had in the 70s! (My grandfather had given me the police station as a birthday gift ) (dry times - yes ... ) Thanks, Dreamweb, for identifying the "old type torso" The helm .... the helm ..... the helm???? It just wouldn't fit anywhere (or at least it would not be visible from the outside). I just imagine it is there. You got it! Well spotted. I like this too.
  23. I am interested as well. Especially as I see a decline in general activity in the forum. Is there something wrong? I like the pirate topic very much and would be very disappointed if it should end in nirvana.
  24. Great stuff. We don't have a lot of people around here building steampunk MOCs, so I like this very much. I've seen your steampunk minifigs before - and they are awesome! Now they have got a perfect scenery. More!
  25. This is very inspiring. You have included some very good ideas.
